Aankhon ki Gustakhiyaan - Day 7 Part 7
Omkara was having a nightmare!
OMKARAAA...'
The pain in that voice sent a shiver down his spine even now, even in his nightmare. Why then, he couldn't hear that pain when she called out to him. Gauri was twirling in her wedding lehenga , trying to save herself. She was surrounded by Kaali's goons who wielded swords and were attacking her with them. She called out to him, he was walking away, he kept walking, not heeding to her cry for help.
His eyes were In tears even when sleeping, what would have happened that day, if he had not decided against his good will to turn and find the goon lifting the sword to hit Gauri once again?
He just didn't want to even think about that possibility, even the thought of that possibility makes him want to destroy the whole world. He held the sword with his right hand just in time before it hot Gauri, blood dripping thereafter to save Gauri. But was he too late already? Gauri was already injured. Blood was dripping off her forehead, her right arm, left side of her waist where a huge gash had formed, she couldn't walk, but she kept fighting.
Yes, he saved her that day, by fighting the goons, by marrying her before the Bareilly crowd. But did he really?
He hated himself for having doubted her for so long after that event, for not believing in her innocence. How many times had she saved his life? Not just his life.
Chulbul ran towards him, he was wielding a knife; his mother would have been injured, had Chulbul not taken the blow himself!
GAURI !'
Omkara woke up startled. Ever since he has realised Gauri's innocence, time and again this nightmare visits him. He is unable to put it away. Even till today, he doesn't know the whole truth about what happened at Kaali's house. Was it possible that he had overlooked many other times when Gauri had tried to ask him for help?
He wiped the sweat off his forehead; headed to the shower ...he had to find out. After shower, he picked up the phone to Shivaay, then to the hotel boutique. He had decided to change all the plans for the day; he had to be with Gauri today, alone, no matter what.
Gauri, woke up with a smile, thinking about all the work ahead of her, with all the responsibility of the orphanages once they get back to OM in Mumbai. She was excited. Helping others made her happy. She was also excited about the next gift Om had sent her and this day what he had in store for her.
She woke up, shower, morning Pooja. He had sent a white dungaree with a white crop top and Nike sneakers for her today. What's up with Om today?' She thought. But she was all obliging, if that's what her jatadahri wanted, that's what he will get. She quickly changed, looking like a teenager; her thoughts went back to Chulbul days.
The phone rang, it was him. Gauri', he said,' ShivAniRu are going out together, I will wait for you next to the red Ferrari, come soon. With this, he was gone. Did he sound a bit sombre?' Gauri thought. He did sound a bit sad. No worries, I will take care of it, I will make him laugh' with this resolve a skip in her step, Gauri headed out.
He was waiting for her next to the Ferrari in white shirt and blue jeans, looking like a God. She couldn't take her eyes off him, nor could he. Even in the dungaree and crop top she managed to look like a goddess, mesmerising with her 1000 watt smile. He greeted her with a peck on her forehead; she was caught unaware, but then quickly recovered and settled down in the seat next to him. He drove. They spent two hours driving, the Ferrari top was open, it was beautiful outside with a cool breeze and mils sunshine. She was enjoying the drive very much.
They reached a hilly area and he drove uphill for another 15 minutes, and stopped.
They got out and walked towards a rampart. She gasped. It seemed like they were on top of the world, they were in a fort Goa fort. It was beautiful up here with the town spread underneath and the beach and sea in the distance. He took her hand and started walking to the other side. This side was really steep, with a cliff next to the fort wall and sea waves crashing at the rocks. Together they climbed down a little and sat down on the rocks. They sat in silence for a while, admiring the seascape. Omkara was looking at Gauri, observing her beautiful, serene face. He then moved a little and lay down with his head in her lap. Gauri was startled at first, but then she put her hands in his hair and started caressing his head. He was at peace already. There was no need for any words between them.
But he wanted to put things right. Gauri', he said. I am sorry for doubting you when you tried to ask for my help at Kaali's house. I cannot forgive myself when I think about what could have happened bcoz I chose to be blind to your pleas. I am not asking for your forgiveness, co I don't deserve it, but please know that I will regret my behaviour for the rest of my life. I love you. I have loved for you so long I don't even remember when I fell in love with you. But loving you is the most beautiful feeling that gives me peace. You are my life. Promise me Gauri, you will never leave me ever. I cannot live without you. My breath will stop if I am away from you.'
Gauri had tears in her eyes. She didn't have words to reply to his yet another beautiful confession, so she did what came to her as an instinct.
She bent down and kissed his forehead, then his eye that was wet, then his cheek, and then a quick peck on his lips, promising him herself forever. He was moved. He did not expect this kind gesture from her. He had been so cruel to her all along. And this is how returns his meanness with her love? He turned towards her stomach, hugged her tightly, still laying in her lap and cried. They cried together for long, all the negative energy had flown out in tears. They were together, they were happy. They spent the rest of the day together in mother nature's lap, on the rocks, on the beach, by the sea, in the sea, sprinkling water at each other like kids, getting wet, sunning themselves dry. Omkara had packed a picnic and they enjoyed it together. They stayed there until sunset and then headed back to the hotel.
ShivAniRu were waiting for them for dinner with bright smiles and all the love in the world. The Obros and Obahus had dinner together, laughing, teasing, telling tales of past few days to each other, hiding the details of course which were memories to be cherished only as couples. Rudy already knew what was going on behind his back, he told them. But he was proud that is bros and bhabhis loved him so much that they still managed to give him so much time and put up this charade for him. The next day, early morning they were leaving for Mumbai. By now, they were all missing OM and the rest of the family. They were happy, they knew, they were TOGETHER FOREVER.
END
So guys. What say?
I know the teasing, naughty Kara had to take a backseat in this one, I thought it was time they had closure on the Kaali- Bareilly track. Afterall, Omkara should have been this affected by it all, but they never showed him suffering at all in DBO/ IB, which I think is not correct. If he loves Gauri, those incidents should really send a chill down his spine every time he thinks about it, but in IB the CVs have conveniently forgotten about all this, there is no closure to anything...
I can continue with this in Mumbai, or start a new story?
What do you vote for? Let me know.
