Aankhon ki Gustakhiyaan - Day 4 Part 4
Gauri couldn't sleep all night; she was missing her Jatadhari too much. When she and Anika had readily said yes, for Obros to have a holiday on their own she didn't realise, how difficult it was going to be, even a day without him. Yes, she had been without him before, but then she had no expectations from him, she was just doing her duty. But now he had confessed he loved her and she had always loved him. This thought brought a smile to her face, as she woke up to greet the first rays of the sun as usual.
She recalled the activities of the past day, her first in Goa. She had spent the entire day with Anika, exploring the sights and sounds of Goa. ShiKara had planned the day itinerary for them. The driver had first taken them to visit the museums and churches and temples, and then to the old Portuguese town, which both of them loved. They had lunch in Spice Island Resort, which was a new concept for recreation in Goa. Lush, green surroundings, a river flowed through the site, separating the resort from the rest of the world. After they crossed over in a boat, they were greeted like princesses with Indian style welcome with tika, garland etc. They felt like the gals from Hawaii whose pictures they had seen in magazines in their past lives. If this was not enough, they found out that the entire resort was booked for them, there was no other guest, all staff was dedicated for just the two of them! They were treated like queens, first given a demonstration of how spices were grown in the resort, how expensive they were, how long it took to grow them, how much care had to be given etc. Then, a demonstration of how they were used in authentic Goan cooking, and well then obviously they were treated to the most amazing food...
They had the most amazing day so far, there was dancing and music, a short skit was put up for them and they dies laughing. They really enjoyed each other's company, like long lost sisters celebrating childhood together. They were happy, and in between there were moments when they were missing their respective halves, hoping they were with them. In the evening, they retired to Anika's room watching a movie with dhishoom dhishoom, which they found was another common thing they liked, ordered room service and laughed some more. Anika asked Gauri to sleep with her, but the chirayya had other plans, hoping that her Jatadhari would visit her, and if he did, she wanted to be in her room to greet him, so she retired to her room after bidding Anika goodnight.
She was disappointed he didn't come in the night, but she was hoping he would come today to see her, like yesterday morning; after all he owed her something ...Oh dear! She thought, he better come, or else what would she wear today? And then she blushed thinking about Omkara's surprise. He had returned her suitcase but not with all her belongings. She had got a shock when she opened it. Inside lay, a few of her essentials, and a gift wrapped box. Nothing else! She was stunned; she had quickly opened the gift box. There was a day dress and a night dress in there. With a note, from the Nandi himself.
Omkara's note:
My Gauri, you may not remember but I recall very clearly to this day, the first time I saw you, you were wearing yellow, looking bright as the sunshine, as cheerful as a sunflower and as precious as a gemstone. You had a naughty innocent smirk on your face, sunglasses on your eyes and you were flying in the air with your village kid friends. I think I fell in love with you then, but only didn't realise it, I thought it was just attraction. I wanted to ignore you, but you had entered my life, already. And then I saw you on the dhaba, in yellow again, when Chulbul went missing, we danced together, you slept on my shoulder, I thought it was all a dream, how could you have come there? I didn't know then that you were my Chulbul as well, my friend, my buddy. Your mom, when she visited us, the first time, she brought a yellow sari for you, I remember running into our room to take you out as the fire alarm had gone off, but when I saw you I couldn't take my eyes off you, you accidentally collided with me, that sari, I felt like all my senses were on fire... I have no words to state what I felt, how I controlled myself from coming close to you just then.
These are some of the precious moments of my life, which I will cherish for ever, thank you for giving those to me. Please accept this dress from me, in your favourite colour yellow, wear it today and make some new memories of your own, share them with me later. This will be not my first gift to you, but first, given with earnest love. The first gift I bought for you, a stole from Germany, I couldn't give it to you in hesitation, I was confused about my feelings. The second gift, the white sari, I did give to you, but in wrath, I was burning in jealous rage then, wanting to break you, take revenge from you, for making me want you and then going away with another man. I cannot ask for forgiveness enough times for what I did, but I was a mad man then. I wanted you, I could not see you with someone else, I shouldn't have doubted your character but I wasn't thinking straight, I was, and I am possessive about you.
I love you. Can't wait to see you!
Only yours
Om
Tears were trickling down her cheeks, tears of joy, of love, of pride, of mad passion. She was on eighth heaven if there was such a place. She looked at the most beautiful yellow dress she had seen in her life, hugged it, and went to get ready. The night dress was the same colour, made of the softest muslin, a bit revealing but still very considerate. She couldn't wait to try it in the evening. When Anika had seen her in the dress, she remarked on how beautiful Gauri looked. But only Gauri knew, it was probably the glow of being in love and knowing that your love is reciprocated. At night she had worn the night dress in the hope to see Omkara but he hadn't come.
So, this morning she waited. She didn't want to risk taking a shower and having to greet her Jatadhari in a bathrobe! She almost jumped when she heard a knock on the door, she sprinted to open it, but only to find a lady standing outside. She was dressed in hotel staff uniform, Good morning m'am' she said. May I come in?'
Yyess, morning, please'. Gauri replied trying to hide her disappointment.
This is for you' she held out another gift wrapped box' Omkara sir has sent it. He also mentioned if you need any help, please let me know. Do you need anything m'am?'
No..oo. Thank you.' Said Gauri and asked the lady to leave.
She was a tad bit disappointed that Omkara had not come himself but she was also looking forward to discovering what was in the box, and so she got to work...to discover another layer of his deep-rooted passion for her...
END
So guys, I hope you like it. Yes, one day without Omkara.
He is teasing her of course, so next time he sees her she is a bundle of love for him.
Sorry, a bit late update, was travelling so didn't get a chance earlier.
