That entire standoff scene involving rajan and the family was the only scene I did not skip at all today. I have a bad habit of skipping a lot of scenes when watching shows online, but this one I didn't. Amar Upadhyay's performance is stellar in this show, and it is the first time I have took notice of him as an actor, mostly because indian tv a lot of the times is full of poorly written and stereotypical characters.

Rajan is a complex character. You find his motives hard to understand. But he clearly isn't a positive character, as his obsession for his son, his over-controlling, dominating and threatening behaviour with his wife, his wariness and suspicion for his relatives as well as openly rude and distant behaviour with them, all of this being in contrast with his sweet behaviour with sharanya and her family all are telling that his character has some strange motives.

In indian tv, there have been very few villains that have truly been so well-written and enacted that I cannot forget them, or I am obsessed with them due to them standing out in some way or being different and interesting, these include:

1. sakshi goenka of ek haseena thi played by simone singh
2. tai of yeh vaada raha played by rinku karmarkar
3. yuvraaj luthra of tashan e ishq played by zain imam,
4. Vidyut R Pandit of Naamkarann played by karam rajpal
5. ragini pandit of naamkarann played by manini sharma.

Now it seems I have to add amar's rajan to this list soon.
