Vikas contender was Bandagi not Hiten from the starting, rest all was drama to justify his plan and not look negative.
That is the only reason he didn't let Luv go out at last as he would have broken Bandagi's standee. He himself broke Hiten's standee to get Puneesh, Bandagi and Aaakash's support for himself. He very well knew Hiten won't create any fuss and forgive him after he does some drama.
So his plan didn't failed but rather succeed he only failed in front of the viewers as they are not buying his fake drama and tears and betrayal to Hiten which thought to gain by destroying Hiten's standee by hand, shedding tears and doing drama of rather going to jail but not break any one standee.
Actually his fake drama failed not the plan!!!
