For me, this is probably the most misused term in Bollywood. As it was Juhi Chawla's 50th birthday yesterday, I saw this term a lot online to describe her amazing comedic skills. But do people actually know what it means??
Seems that people who describe someone who is good at comedy as having "good comic timing". This is the wrong use of the term. Comic timing is actually when a comedian (usually live on stage) pauses to get a reaction from the audience - or when they use timing and rhythm to build up a gag in, say slapstick comedy.Go on YouTube now, and search for any stand-up comedy show. You will see the artiste pause for a reaction after each gag - that is comic timing.Playing a comic character in film is NOT comic timing. Unless in the rare occasions of some slapstick, which was the norm in the 70s I suppose, probably why this term is misused today, as it was just carried forward.okbye đł

Never knew Juhi is a comedienne... I've seen many of her movies but missed those side splittingly funny scenes
