What I observed about Vidyut is that he is always under some fear that somebody will snatch his daughter from him. That is why despite of being occupied by the guests he was always keeping a eye at the seat on which Mishti was supposedly sitting.
He is extremely proud to have a daughter and was taking pleasure in introducing his daughter to his guests when Neil came in his way and revealed his identity. Neil's presence in the party didn't disturb him in fact he wanted even Neil to meet Mishti.
To prevent Vidyut from reaching the seat in which Avni had placed the doll, Neil holds him at knife point and in order to engage him he starts speaking about how his mother destroyed innocent lives through human trafficking and how he plans to pull the mask from Vidyut's face.
Blood was oozing from Vidyut's neck but still he was keeping his calm and counter attacking Neil with his words. Then one of his men fired at the bottles in bar to distract Neil and Vidyut took the opportunity to push Neil and his bodyguards held Neil at their gun point.
Still Vidyut didn't take out his gun as he didn't want to ruin his image in front of his guests and media. But when he realized that Mishti is missing from the party along with Ananya, he lost his temper, forgot about his image and emptied the bullets of his gun in the doll and then pointed the gun towards Neil.
When his worst fear came true he forget about his surroundings and showed his real self in front of the crowd. The anger of losing his prized possession was clearly visible on his face.
With Neil blabbering about Juhi, Vidyut realized that it was Neil's plan to abduct Mishti and handover to Juhi.
But it seems Vidyut thinks that Neil hired Ananya to do the task, and he has no idea that Ananya is actually Neil's wife.
The moment he learns this he will definitely turn AvNeil's world upside down.
