@mili
đ Kudos for taking time out and watching that marathon Zee mahasangam episode originally telecast on 16th Oct, even if it was on a FF mode and then showing patience to sit and write a detailed review by sharing your frank opinions. So far haven't come across any web portals or media houses or online forums reviewing this specific episode at such depth, firstly not many Indians would have actually sat thru patiently on a Mon evening to watch this show live at a stretch for 4.5 hrs without a miss. đ
Not just as a long time Hindi soap viewer, more than anything else as a woman belonging to medical profession your opinions about this particular 'aaj likhenge kal' episode do matter. Wish you can create a separate review post and share it with Zee biz head & Balaji team, Chloe Ferns and Nitin Dhall along with Ekta who conceptualized and managed this mahasangam show.đ
That branding film which Zeetv has been airing since Oct 15th to reflect its launch of new logo and tag line 'aaj likhenge kal' with father-daughter duo on flight is so endearing to watch, well conceptualized, shot, edited and has become widely watched video in a short time.. đđź
Now based on what you apprised, this so called mahasangam didn't reflect the same mood of 'aaj likhenge kal' in writing or execution. Showing a climax scene of 5 mins where one 50 yrs old suppressed bleak ever crying housewife comes in Navy uniform as a doctor doesn't necessarily do justice to what viewers had to bear for 4.5 hrs of disconnected, meaningless, medieval age melodrama filled with some contrasting vulgar item songs and dances setup near a wedding mandap. đł
Agreed fictional shows may not necessarily be close to reality and logic. But any social drama that's set in current modern times that too when using an Indian metro city like Mumbai as background with rich family setups need to be relatable, entertaining plus convincing taking viewers into a believable world.. Exceptions or excuses can be taken to what gets written or shown in period dramas, super natural's, horror and fantasy genre kind of shows but not in modern social dramas.đ¤ This is a fundamental aspect which creatives, writers and producers now a days seem to be grossly ignoring. You can't always feed TV viewers (both urban and rural) some baseless crap in the name of fictional entertainment as awareness levels and literacy rates in modern information age are on a rise..
PS. I was 𤣠reading your husbands guesses on why that woman was crying.. just couldn't control my laughter..
