Ties that bind
Diwali is incomplete without celebrating the brother-sister bonding through Bhai Dooj. We ask TV actors how they will be making the day special for their behna and here's what they have to say..
A NEW PHONE FOR MY SISTER
Ssharad Malhotraa: It is not possible to go home as I'm shooting continuously but I'll definitely buy a new phone and dark chocolates for her. Kolkata is my hometown and I will miss the way the festival is celebrated there. Anyway, here, I will celebrate with friends. Bhai Dooj is important, too. Life is all about loving your family.
SHE CAN BUY WHAT SHE WANTS
Shashank Vyas: My elder sister, who I am quite close to, lives in Jodhpur. I can't go there as I have some work commitments, so will wish her on the phone. Rather than gifts, I prefer giving cash so she can buy things of her choice.
DIAMOND EARRINGS WILL MAKE HER HAPPY
Akshay Dogra: Bhai Dooj is a festival that talks about a brother sister bond and when it comes to us, my sister is my best friend. We are those siblings who fight, laugh, cry and have fun. This year, I am going to gift her something different than previous years. I will be giving her diamond earrings. Since Riddhi loves to dress up, I just feel this will be a perfect gift for her and it would make her really happy.
SHOP TILL YOU DROP
Mishal Raheja: Since it's Diwali season, the day is about spending quality time with the family, especially my sister. I plan to take her to her favourite store for shopping and then to her favourite restaurant for dinner. This day is dedicated to her and I will do whatever makes her happy.
I AM ALWAYS THERE FOR HER
Mrunal Jain: My muhboli sister Rashami Desai is very close to my heart. I am there for her and I know that she's always there for me. This i I will take her out for a quick cup of coffee as we both have hectic shoot schedules. She herself is very busy shooting for her new show. I wish her all the happiness in the world. Festivals like Bhai Dooj are amazing and keep us grounded and connected.
I WILL MISS HER
Ankit Bathla: This Bhai Dooj, I will be in Indonesia. I will miss my sister Nishtha. Last year, I gave her a a bracelet which read I am watching your back. I think she is the coolest sister in the world. I can discuss anything under the sun with her without any fear of being judged. My wish for her this time is a promise that I will always stand by her till eternity. I will be sending her some interesting surprise gifts.
IT'S ALL GOLD
Dheeraj Dhoopar: Though I have a busy shooting schedule, I have taken time off to be in Delhi for Diwali and Bhai Dooj. It will be special as I will be spending time with my sister after a long time. I plan to go out with my entire family. I will be buying gold earrings for her. I'm sure she must have also planned something special for me.
