It might happen in all countriies - abusers, rapists getting away with lesser punishment

The problem here is

Delhi High Court ruling that "A NO doesn't always mean NO and acquitting a rape accuser is very significant, it even reversed the seven-year imprisonment awarded to him by a session's court earlier

You know that it sets precedent for future cases and will be quoted in the future by lawyers of rapists, right?

As the article said "With one stroke, this judgement took back any headway that was made to clarify the complex idea of consent"

In our industry, we are so quick to assume females are sleeping for roles.
Why don't we assume the same for men?

We assume that the man is "qualified" for the role but the anytime a female is picked she obviously slept with the lead/producer/director etc.

For example Anushka Sharma (like or hate her not relevant) but because she was first pic for BV - rumours continue to fly that she slept with Kashyap.
Or any other actress that maybe an outsider.

We reinforce this attitude that actress will sleep for roles - making directors/producers/ etc think they can do this

So when women speak out - we shame them, we say it was "feeble no" or she should have known what she was doing etc.

It's patriarchal society - whenever something bad happens with a man (say that OML entertainment guy) he got a massive article + support from everyone.
these days rape against women are so common, they get maybe a small part in the paper if they're lucky. Most of the time it's accompanied by victim shaming.

People believed Terry Crews in Hollywood they victim shamed the f**k out of Asia Argento, Rose Mcgowan etc

Yes this is he most controversial judgement in recent times.

And was debated a lot because it sets wrong precedent and sets back all fight for justice in such cases.

Powerful male lobby hailed it though and SC lawyer Sanjay Hedge even tried to rationalise it.

There is lot of pressure these days in India to dilute all laws meant to protect victims. All drama in name of MRAs.

Not just women, men are dismissed too when they try to talk about abuse

Corey Feldman has been talking for years about child abuse in HW and his own experience but people dismissed him

Even the great Barbara Walters scolded him when he tried to warn people about predators in the industry

He believes his friend and child actor the late Corey Haim became a drug addict bcz of the sexual abuse he suffered in HW

Things won't change until capital punishment is carried out for a few of them.
Then at least 1% of them will think twice before doing it to another woman

Yes + Elijah Wood tried last year and he wasn't listened to either.

Meryl Streep and her like in Hollywood support Roman Polanski, Victor Salva, Bryan Singer & Kevin Spacey

In terms of child abuse we know that Dimple Kapadia was preyed upon - she was only 16.
I wonder how much more there is? Hansika Motwani was 16 when she played love interest to Himesh Reshammiya's 34, how predatory? they could only find her as heroine?
Hoping nothing bad happened to her :/

Heads of to some hollywood actresses comeing out. And i was suprised that harvey tried his luck on gwyneth and Angelina.

I expect Bollywood to be even worse and to think that all these big producer or names are kind of a family cause they are related or grown up together so its more difficult to call them out.

Who knows what those actresses had to go through back then. But top actresses wouldnt dare to call anyone of them out cause their career and connections are more important for them
