Salman Khan's Bigg Boss 11 takes off with a bang; scores 2.9 on the TRP charts

Incredible! Salman Khan has done it again. The superstar's presence in the first episode of Bigg Boss 11 got Colors a rating of 2.9 for the inaugural episode. This year, the show came earlier than it does. This is fantastic for Colors as the channel got a good opening for Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 as well a couple of months ago. The first episode of Bigg Boss 11 was high on curiosity as people were unsure about the contestants till the last day. It also had big names from TV like Shilpa Shinde and Hina Khan, which got it eyeballs. However, it was the presence of Salman that punters say did the magical. It beat off competition from the likes of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs and Dance Champions on Star Plus as well. The week day for Bigg Boss 11 is significantly lesser clocking around 1.6 to 1.9 as per sources. The average stands at 1.6, says the insider. The first episode has beaten Shilpa Shetty's Super Dancer and Akshay Kumar's The Great Indian Laughter Challenge by a huge margin. Bigg Boss 11's first inaugural episode saw a fight between Hina Khan and Shilpa Shinde on the stage. It set the tone for the season like never before. The late timing and increasing risque content might be a reason why the regular episodes are seeing fluctuating TRPs.
