Barely ten days since Anushka Sharma joined the fleet of Bollywood superstars who endorse and own their clothing line, the actress has landed in a plagiarism soup. The controversy around Anushka Sharma and the manufacturers of NUSH is getting murkier by the day.

After the reports of Anushka Sharma having copied designs from Chinese wholesale brands started floating, her spokesperson had come out with an official statement, stating, "Several discrepancies have come to light over the last 2 days we are in the process of getting to the bottom of this and we will not stop at taking the most stringent action required to resolve the situation. Once we have complete clarity will share more details."

And the latest information we have received is from the manufacturers themselves, where they have out rightly denied Anushka's involvement in the designing process. "We would also like to take this opportunity to mention and clarify that our business partner Ms. Anushka Sharma was never part of our designing and procuring process"

They have also added that Anushka was only involved in styling and brining her fashion sense to the table and nothing beyond that. Elaborating on this, the manufacturers have said, "She was only involved in advising us on the styles that could go on the floor based on her personal style and sensibility for which she had dedicated a lot of her time and effort. We pride ourselves in partnering with someone known for her credibility, honesty and values she brings to the table as part of her imagery and more. We are committed to bringing the best of designs, at the best prices to the Indian consumers.

Their statement is an outright contradiction to what Anushka Sharma has constantly been saying in all her conferences post making the announcement. In fact, Anushka had revealed that she was so immersed in the designing part of the clothes once, that her mother actually had to remind her to eat.

Now what new turn this Anushka-NUSH plagiarism row will take, we guess, only time will tell!

Kabhi Anushka was so involved that she was working nine hours a day and forgetting to eat and now that her scam has been exposed she wasn't involved at all lol? Ye kya chakkar ha lol. And did they just admit to importing clothes from Chinese wholesalers and adding the NUSH brand tag? 🤣

What about Zara's Spring 2016 design? Uspe comment nahi kiya. Is it cuz the Chinese manufacturers are an easy target and Zara is not (instead they risk getting sued for copyright infringement)?

Oh and she... oops I mean the people she works with, never forget to talk about her honesty and integrity. 😆

LOL @ Chinese manufacturers betraying their trust. These designs have been around for the past two years. Itni si research to banda kar sakta ha agar kapre design nahi karne, aur Chinese wholesalers se import karne ha. Itni bi laziness acchi nahi hoti, Anushka.

Fashion ka ABC nahi ata (cuz anyone who's at least a little bit into fashion will know about Zara's most popular piece of Spring 2016), current trends ka pata nahi aur chali thi clothing line bana ne. Instead she made a fool out of herself and this statement isn't helping her case at all lol. Instead they (she and her team) are getting trapped in a web of lies that keeps getting bigger and bigger!

Anyway, more props to RHESON and All About You. Their designs might not be for everybody (let's face it, despite taking the easy and cheap route out Anushka's designs still look bad and cheap) but at least they didn't plagiarise big brands like Zara and/or directly buy them from Chinese wholesalers without being involved in the designing process.

If she was not involved in the designing process and her contributions to the fashion label was so low, what's the point in us buying her 'creations'? The whole point of your own fashion label is to infuse your creativity and sense of style 😆
Why don't we just order online from the Chinese guys? Im sure we can get a cheaper price for it too 😆

Didn't she say that none of the designs went without her approval and all during her 9 hour session?

As reported earlier, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma had recently launched her clothing line. But, soon after her designs were introduced in the market, they were accused of "plagiarism".

Earlier in the day, her spokesperson had confirmed that they are investigating the matter and will soon come up with a solution.

Looks like the team has finally found a solution to curb their plagiarism issue.

Anushka's business partner Suditi Industries has said the "specific designs" (accused of being copied) will be discarded.

At the launch of her signature apparel line NUSH last week, Anushka had said that she had been involved in choosing the styles, colours and fabrics for over a year.

In the statement issued when NUSH was launched, Anushka had said: "I have personally taken interest in the styles of NUSH, so there's a bit of myself in all the outfits."

But, now after facing backlash from the market, her business partner has changed his statements and is trying to "protect" the actress and has said that she was "never a part of our designing and procuring process".

According to reports, some of the brand's pieces have been lifted from Chinese websites.

Pawan Agarwal, CMD Suditi Industries, explained in a statement on Tuesday: "We have just got to know about the discrepancies in some designs of our brand NUSH and we are taking strict action about the same.

"Our process at Suditi industries was that the entire responsibility of designing and procuring samples was at our end and we have recently realised that some of our procured designs from the Chinese manufacturer were being available elsewhere too."

Agarwal admitted this was not only a "serious design and procurement process lapse from our design and procurement team, but also a breach of trust by the manufacturing company in China with us".

They have realised that a few of the designs that the company bought from the manufacturer were further produced and sold on a Chinese website.

He has said serious actions will be taken against this "breach of faith".

"We would also like to mention that some of the designs highlighted just have commonalities with prevelant fashion trends and are not copies as mentioned," he said.

"So we along with our partner Anushka Sharmaare also ensuring that these specific designs are not put on floor and will discard this out from our range," he added.

He also clarified that their business partner Anushka was "never part of our designing and procuring process".

"She was only involved in advising us on the styles that could go on the floor based on her personal style and sensibility for which she had dedicated a lot of her time and effort," said Agarwal.

When we contacted Anushka Sharma's spokesperson, they remained unavailable for comments.

If she has any shame left after being exposed she should stop selling clothes with her brand name.

Typical. Expect people to buy it because it has your name on it but wash your hands of anything involved with it when you screw up.

Then why was she not eating her lunch? What was she doing for 9 hours in the meeting? Her mom was so worried for her.

My heart goes out to poor Anushka after reading( article posted in other thread) her struggle for shopping in different shops to buy clothes that meet her style. I understand that it must be really exhausting process. I also understand her noble intention to bring clothes of her style under single roof ,for us mere mortals.
P.S Seems like dissociating oneself from something as soon as problem arises is not restricted few . Even credible, honest ,truthful Anu also had to resort same tactics.
