Barely ten days since Anushka Sharma joined the fleet of Bollywood superstars who endorse and own their clothing line, the actress has landed in a plagiarism soup. The controversy around Anushka Sharma and the manufacturers of NUSH is getting murkier by the day.
After the reports of Anushka Sharma having copied designs from Chinese wholesale brands started floating, her spokesperson had come out with an official statement, stating, "Several discrepancies have come to light over the last 2 days we are in the process of getting to the bottom of this and we will not stop at taking the most stringent action required to resolve the situation. Once we have complete clarity will share more details."
And the latest information we have received is from the manufacturers themselves, where they have out rightly denied Anushka's involvement in the designing process. "We would also like to take this opportunity to mention and clarify that our business partner Ms. Anushka Sharma was never part of our designing and procuring process"
They have also added that Anushka was only involved in styling and brining her fashion sense to the table and nothing beyond that. Elaborating on this, the manufacturers have said, "She was only involved in advising us on the styles that could go on the floor based on her personal style and sensibility for which she had dedicated a lot of her time and effort. We pride ourselves in partnering with someone known for her credibility, honesty and values she brings to the table as part of her imagery and more. We are committed to bringing the best of designs, at the best prices to the Indian consumers.
Their statement is an outright contradiction to what Anushka Sharma has constantly been saying in all her conferences post making the announcement. In fact, Anushka had revealed that she was so immersed in the designing part of the clothes once, that her mother actually had to remind her to eat.
Now what new turn this Anushka-NUSH plagiarism row will take, we guess, only time will tell!
