most of the societies charge money for the parking spot, if this society has done that, then they have no right to enter the spot in lottery. And even if they do, at least the owner should be made aware before handing it over to another person.

IF they had informed Deepika and she had agreed then she has no right to ask. But all of a sudden they cannot refuse someone who owns a flat in the society to use the parking space.

When I own a flat and I pay for the parking as well it is entirely mine. I use it or not is left to me and my neighbours are nobody to decide it. When I go back to my older house we see other cars parked in our space but the moment they know we have come they make space for us. In no way can you allot my parking lot entirely to someone else. Mrs Madhu got scared of court and decided to make it public.

Most celebrities are not rich enough to own a house in Mumbai. That takes a different level of wealth. They would also have to move to less fancy areas because nothing is left in the posh areas.

Parking problems are a huge issue in any big city. Most luxury apartments even in New York don't come with parking spaces. If you have a dedicated parking spot, you are considered very very very rich. Most celebrities just use the subway like everyone else and some sign up for limo services so they have someone to drive them around without the hassles of owning a car.

Even the buildings that come with parking (hardly any) have extremely tough rules. If the space is not being utilized, they will definitely give it to a tenant who needs it rather than it sitting empty. There's a monthly rental fee for the space. It is not something you own that you can do whatever you want with it. The land doesn't belong to the tenant.

Well that's a weird issue. I'm not sure where I stand on this😆Technically, if that spot is not being used and she is the owner of the corresponding apartment, then it makes sense to me that she can use the space.

But if that's violating building policy, then...tough luck? 😕 Should they bend the rules for her just because she's Deepika Padukone?

I'm not too sure of this lady though either. From what I read, it seems like she's ready to spill the beans on DP. Dunno if that's because this lady wants some publicity or if all this is actually true😆

The parking situation in housing societies in India is very tough, especially in cities like Mumbai where parking is very limited. I know someone who has paid something to the tune of 25 lac rupees (close to ~$40,000) for one parking spot in an already congested residential building in South Bombay - so one gets the idea that its definitely not that cheap!

Deepika's logic probably was that if I own the flat I at least get one parking spot to park a car here (which she did when she lived there, but the Cozihom society must be completely exhausted with parking and someone who really needed it must have paid under the table to get her parking spot, you would be surprised that corruption extends to parking spots too!). I don't think she's wrong here, and yes it is finally nice to see something beyond the diplomatic and boring part we know about her - it makes her feel more relatable for sure. Speaking of, I had no idea Deepika had even purchased this flat, because she herself had mentioned somewhere that she was renting this flat (must have bought it in the meanwhile I guess).
