On a serious note, avg salary for new graduate are in the range of 40-60k (not the software), so if the avg pay in charity is around 90k then its a good deal. When people donate $100 amount to charity they don't think $97 will be spend toward administrative cost.

We can't decide that Nautanki ...what should employees get. I did a project for non profitable organisation before ... there are employees of all levels who are required. graduate levels usually volunteer and some get commission for enrolling the donors. They literally chase people for donations on streets , go house to house too. But at corporate level it's different..you have everyone from experienced to inexperienced.

agree but 6 figure salaries in a charity is abuse, they could simply get volunteer from school/college who r ready to work for a cause.

if a trust make x amount, then and employ 8k people and take away 90% of the charity then its just a business. charities are needed in the society but most of them are just doing business to make money.

9tanki - Very few will actually be interested in doing charity if it's low pay. One of my cousins is pursuing NGOs for job and she is rejecting based on the payscale. Like it's said 'dusro ki sahayata karne se pehle khud ki peti baandh le' 😆. Unless people are filthy rich and have nothing to worry about, they do care for high pay even in NGOs.

Just got this from a website - http://www.careerizma.com/blog/ngo-jobs-careers-in-india/

Average Salaries for NGO jobs

As Dan Pallotta says in a wonderful TED talk, one of the main reason's non-profits are unable to obtain and retain talent is because of compensation.

Guidestar and CNM report pegs the average median salary of CEO's of non-profits in the US as between $50,000 $90,000. Some larger foundations pay up to to $150,000.

In India the entry level salary is anywhere between 10,000 30,000 Indian Rupees (INR) depending on the organization and size and funding.

A CEO of a non-profit can earn anywhere between 1,00,000 5,00,000 Rupees per month.

A manager with 5-6 years of work experience can earn between Rs. 50,000 Rs. 1,50,000 per month.

In India, 5-6 yrs of experience can give you almost similar wage as a s/w engineer.

It's wrong to pass a verdict that because an NGO is paying high to its employees, it's cheating people. People who donate in money are already aware of the ratio of how much it's going for actual help. This is the reason many (including me) prefer to donate in rather goods like Clothes, Blankets, Ear-aids, glasses etc than money so that they are sure of their target receivers.

😆 If you plan for that do let me know, if you dont mind nepotism I will send my cousin's resume to u if she still doesnt get her expected payscale 😆 .

Also, there are special courses available now with practical training before one joins NGO as an employee. Ab maa baap paisa kharch karke iss liye nahi padhaate ke baccha free mein charity karega 😆 . Ghar chalana hota hai bhai 😆 .
