Megs and Tilaga in the auto - Tilaga is lamenting about the
connection between rowdies and Kalai family. " panathukkaga
ponnai kadatharaangale?? naadu ipdi kettu poche Megs"
(romba mukkiam!! Nadu enna seythathu namakku enra
kelvigal keppathu ethargu?? nee enna seythaay atharku...
- Roja nee enna periya John.F. Kennedy aa?? un thollai
thangalai ...) Megs consoles saying that they can get Kannu
back soon. Sara comes running and sees the auto. Stops the
auto and tells Megs that he saw Kannu going out of the
hospital. Megs uses her saucers to exclaim and Sara goes
on to say that a dada called Thyagu has kidnapped Kannu
and she attempted to commit suicide. This part is news to
Megs and she probes for further info. Sara spills whatever
he knows and demands to know the missing link. Megs has
no choice but to tell him the background. She tells him that
Kalai's project ran in to some financial problems - oru chinna
pana prachanai!! (ammadi 50 lakhs unakku chinna pana prachanai
yaa?? apdi podu aruvaalai!!!) and Thyagu is holding Kanmani
in lieu for the money. She goes on to say that the money has
been arranged and she will be releasing Kannu in an hour.
She wants Sara not to disclose this to any one. Sara leaves.
Thyagu is at home and chiding Kannu's security guards -
" now u be careful, ok?? she attempted suicide, beware"
- All black cats become ba ba black sheep. Thyagu goes
on to chide them for admitting Kannu in the same hospital
where Sezhi was admitted. -"ava mattum satham pottiruntha,
I would have lost 8 crores!!" - (so, now we know even if
Megs gives him the 50 lakhs, he is not going to release
Kannu!!! he has eyes on bigger things!!! so, let us be happy
that at least Danda's debt part is taken care of!!)Megs calls
Thyagu and he picks up to say "sollumma Abinaya Sundari"
- Megs holds the mobile in one hand and moves the other
hand vigorously - (pinne?? Thyagu sir kudutha title ai
justify panna vendamaa???) - demands to know why Kannu
slit her wrists. Thyagu wants to know her source of info but
Megs is not ready to disclose her informant. Thyagu confirms
that Kannu is fine and Megs angrily says that she will throw
his money on his face in an hour and he better make sure to
return Kannu unscathed (she made sure to insult Thyagu -
yen kaile panam irukku theriyumaa?? ayyo Megs, athai
unakku oru periya aappu vaichuttanga theriyame pesariye...)
She hangs up on him and Thyagu is livid with anger " avalukku
epdi da intha news theriyum??" His karuppu aadus have no clue.....

Operation theater - Devraj and secretary are outside, some
procedure is on for Ranga inside ( Doctor said that he had only
some minor injuries, now some operation???!!!)
Devraj is furiously pacing up and down and curses Ranga for
going to Madras all by himself and worries about his will -
" sothule enna villangam panni vaicharO aasamai, enna
pannuven..." Two of Ranga's employees come and ask about
the operation and Devraj boils some more... Finally, the doctor
comes out and says " yerkeneve BP, sugar, accident le shock..."
( yov enna aachunnu solli tholai muthalle...) Devraj echoes
Roja's anxiety and yesss Ranga died. Devraj is totally
devastated : "ayyo sothu..... maamaa.... sothu...." ( Megs,
ippo unakku oru nalla chance, and u can bring Sezhi, Tilaga
and Kirtana along to have a major oppari session, go for it
my dear, have a field day!!!) Secretary does not know to
contain Devraj...

Megs and Tilaga arrive at home.Megs takes the key from
mom and runs to bureau - Sezhi is asleep. Sees the bureau
open and frets. Brief case is missing and Megs searches in
the most improbable places for the money. Sezhi gets up and
has no clue about the missing money. Megs shouts for Geetha
who informs about the "kannadi potta bekku's" visit and how
athai settled accounts. Megs wants to know as to why Geetha
did not stop athai and Geetha says" how I can ask her?? she
said that she wants to throw the money at Danda's face" (athu
sari aunt and niece spoke the same lines!!!) Side plates are out
and almost resemble soup bowls!!! As Megs is in shock, Tilaga
starts the ball rolling by crying first " yerkeneve, Kannu slit
her wrists, ippo nee panam kudukkatta, Thyagu will slit her
neck..." bingo....athai walks in .. still fuming... "Kalai
kudumbam kadankaara kudumbamaa?? inime yaaranum
yethanum pesattum.." Megs is furious and so her hands
dance, ( abinaya Sundari aaduginraal, intha... Rojaaaaa
unakku samaya santharpame theriyaathaa?? ippo enna
paattu vendi kidakku??!!) confronts athai about touching
the money with out asking her once. Athai is charming :
"aama, nee mannu sumanthu kondu vanthiyaa?? u must have
used my bro's name, I did not spend for myself, had to settle
Danda's loan,so I took it, what is the big deal??" Tilaga
manages to tell athai that Kannu's life is at stake and with
out paying Thyagu that money, they can not release Kannu.
Athai is now sincerely upset ( hey, she does love the other
Kalai offsprings!!) "what Kannu is kidnapped??? why was
I not informed??? if u had told me.I would not have done
this!!!" Megs says that they did not tell athai because they
were worried about her doing some "yeda koodam". Athai
is angry now " this is what I call as your bossing over, you
think that u know everything and mess up" ( athai, u rock
really!!! U said it all!! Talking issues out would solve 90%
of the problems!!) Tilaga starts the oppari" Kannu mani,
ponnu mani, vaira mani, thanga mani, aachhh" and Megs
joins ( fortunately she leans on Tilaga's shoulders and the
side plates are hidden!! - Megs, u better watch out - Ranga
is also dead, u have a lot of crying to catch up!!)

Episode No 169 Monday 4/2/08

Ranga's house - Ranga is sleeping peacefully. Devraj is fretting.
Goes on to lament " kizham sethu poi kooda yennai ipdi polamba
vaichuduthu, ayyo sothu... sothu..." PA wants to know the reason
for the delay in starting the funeral procession. Dev says that
they are waiting for some good time. PA can not understand that
a dead body should wait for " nalla neram" and Dev is more furious
by his bantering. Orphanage children come with a wreath - Dev
fumes some more - " all his wealth can be enjoyed by some 3rd
person Megala and by these orphans... but, I am his blood relation
and I have no access to his wealth , hmmmmm" - people come
and convey condolences to Dev. Abinaya Sundari's house -
5 planets athai, Tilaga, Sezhi, Geetha and Megs are sitting in
different directions - Megs is doing her usual crying with hand
on her head. Sezhi musters enough courage to go near her and
asks about future plans. Megs moves her hands in the only way
she knows, cries and mouthes the only dialogue she knows
" na enna panna poren??" - goes on to cry for a while and
finally decides to go back to Ranga for more money. She
calls Ranga's house no... the phone rrrrinnnggggsssss

Lots of crying by relatives - never knew that Ranga would be
missed so much by his people!!!! - Ranga's body is taken for cremation...... the phone is still rrrinnggginnnggg - finally a
servant man picks up and informs Megs about Ranga's sudden
demise. Megs needs details and the man is happily furnishing
all that she needs to know - " madras trip... accident... operation....
poye poch, gone, poyindhi..." Megs cries and cries and cries.....
(appa da inimel intha chance marupadi eppo kidaikkumo!!)
Finally manages to inform her family about the sad news and
Geetha opines that Megs should leave for B'lore immediately.
" body cremation kku poyachu, I wont even have an audience
if I cry with my hands, side plates and what not,,,,,,"

Thyagu's place - Thyagu and his thambis are waiting for
abinaya sundari to come with money. The delay is causing
them some worry - "anne, panathoda varen nnu solli ithanai
neram aachu, innum varaliye?? bayama irukku" - Thyagu
assures that she will come -"pasa malar nilamai therinjum
summa iruppalaa??" Another thambi wants to know if
Thyagu is a reformed man- " panam kudutha Kannu
vai vittuduveengalaa?" Thyagu laughs and denies that -
he is no Harichandran - " if we get this money,, that is a
bonus for us. We shall kidnap the last kutty and ask for
the whole resort documents. That is the plan." Thambis
marvel at annan's business acumen. Kannu listens to all
this and makes another attempt to do some sweet talking -
" enga kudumbam romba nalla kudumbam,kaiyil kaasu illa
kudumbam, why did u save me?? u could have allowed me to
die!!" - Thyagu has no qualms about that option - " oh yes,
if things do not work out the way I want, that is the final
outcome" - Goes away followed by his thambis - No one
notices the charging mobile!!!!! Kannu gets hold of the
phone and calls akka. The mobile rings and Megs is not
picking. Tilaga cannot fathom the lethargy but Megs says
that it is Thyagu and she has no money to pay him. And,
Kannu does not have any idea of sms service!!! Goes on
to call and finally Megs picks up. Hearing Kannu's voice,
she is at a loss for words and Kannu herself has her
wheezing playing up. Megs promises to somehow release
her and tells her about the fate of the 50 lakhs - " kadan
vaangi kondu vanthen, Vadivu athai spoiled every thing
hmm" - Kannu stalls with other talks ( yammma di
Thyagu phone athu, avan thedi vanthaa enna seyve??
muthalle important news ai solla maatiyaa??) - "allow me
to die akka, don't give him the money vu vuv uvu " -
and finally spills out Thyagu's plans - " even if u give
this money now,, he will not release me, he has his eyes
on the resort and he wants the whole property to himself...."
Megs does the one thing that she is good at - spreads her sideplates........

Tuesday 5/2/08 Episode no 170

Recap of yesterday - among vik viks and wheezing Kannu
details Thyagu's plans to Megs - that gives Megs a chance
to make her side plates into soup bowls. Kannu goes on to
say that Thyagu has plans to kidnap Kirtana as well and
make it more difficult for Abinaya Sundari. Megs materi-
alizes a crystal ball from space and predicts - " athellam
onnum nadakkathu, nee bayapadathe, akka irukken" - but
Kannu is more practical - association with Thyagu did teach
her some things!!! - goes on to tell akka that she should not
bother about Kannu any more - " let me die and do not give
any money" - Thyagu walks in to the room and asks Kannu
" ennamma, ellam solli mudichittiya? na enna kenaiyanaa,
veedu poora security vaichi kittu, cell phone ai casual aa un
kaile kidaikkara mathiri vittu tu poga??? it was intentional
my dear, I wanted you to talk to your darling sis and apprise
her of the situation. Now my job is easier" - snatches the
mobile from Kannu and continues to talk to a fretting Megs -
' ennadi, panam kondu varennu sonne, aalaiye kaanum?"
Megs is lost for words but still moves her available hand
( cell phone in the other!!) - " had money... athai sothappified...
but what s this??

Megs confronts Thyagu about his plans - " I believe you
will not release Kannu even if I give the money??!!! You
want the whole resort transfered to your name???" Thyagu
is happy that the whole information has been imparted to
Megs by Kannu - " aww, athaiyum sollittala un pasa malar???
yup, now hear me out fully and get this loud and clear - I want
the whole thing for myself. Returning the money to those
three customers was just a pretext to start my negotiations,
got it??" Megs fumes and has lost control of her single hand
- does the same movement over and over to show her frenzy -
" I can agree if u ask for the customer's money but what
rights do u have to ask for the whole resort??? how are u
eligible?" - Thyagu can only laugh at this ( so do we!!!) -
" I have your sis with me whose life hangs in my hands
and u get angry??? vara koodathe, ithanai kovam, Kannu
vai mudichidavaa??? Ok, here is the deal, if u transfer the
whole thing to me, u will get your sis back, other wise...."
Mags has a major confusion now - to cry and keep quiet??
to cry and talk??? what about my hand?/ how do I move???
- lack of time drives her to a quick decision - " apdi ellam
seyyathe, na kova padalai, sari sari, I will transfer, enge
eppo sollu??" By this time Tilaga is ready with her
saucers - anticipates the calamity, moves her hands a
la Megs and frets. Thyagu is happy that the negotiation
has been settled amicably. Tells Megs that he will call
her and let her know the time and venue for the registration
as he does not want her to have any prior notice - " nee
antha AC kitte sollitta?? ok, hold and I will call you" -
disconnects the phone and tells Kannu to relax." unga
akka has agreed to my proposal, let me know what you
want to eat, I will get it cooked, now give me a smile" -
Kannu has not heard that word - "smile aa?? apdinna??
nothing related to our kudumbam!!!" - but Thyagu
wants to teach her that emotion and so roars" siri di" -
Kannu manages to raise up to the occasion and gives a
pathetic smile - Thyagu leaves and she resumes her asthma!!!
Athai takes the floor when Megs informs Thyagu's tactics -
" my thambi.. the ace business magnate.. could not deal with
this and this chit of a girl can do it??? told u so many times
and look now, where we are??? You should know before u
leap!! U did not listen to me also". .. rubs enough salt over
the wound ( but she was right!!! U can not bite more than u
can chew!!) Megs is vexed , agrees with athai and asks her
to stop bantering. Kanakku comes and Megs asks him to
talk to the customers about the latest developments -
" ask them to try and save their money" - kanakku
leaves, athai fumes, Megs and Tilaga go in for another
oppari session!!!

Sakthi and Diwa - S is pensive and sitting outside the bed
room at 5am. Diwa tries to reason out but she is worried
about Kannu. Diwa recalls her mom's advice and asks her
to do away with all her worries. Nut says that her mom
advised as it was her duty but Sakthi has every right to
worry ( awww Kalai kudumba thile irunthu vanthuttu
azugai koodathunna epdi??) The calling bell rings...Pushpa,
kid and hubby enter. Hubby has to go on an official trip for
15 days and has come to leave wife and kid with Diwa's parents -
" no one in the neighborhood and so I want them to be taken
care of" - Diwa's paents agree and ask Sakthi to make coffee.
As the coffee is served, MIL wants toknow why Sakthi's eyes
are red. Diwa says that she did not sleep well and MIL goes
on to say that pregnant women should rest more. Pushpa
wonders if Sakthi has agreed not to abort and MIL happily
says that sakthi's mom gave some sane advice and Nut is
reformed. Pushpa points out that a MIL can neer be a mother
- Sakthi makes a face ( of course!!). Hubby leaves and while
leaving advises Pushpa to hold her tongue " u are here as
a guest and do not interfere in their household matters, ok?"
Pushpa is here ot have some fun and so says" pappom,
pappom" Yup, fire works on the cards folks , sit back....

Wednesday 6/2/08 Episode No 171

Sezhi is looking out from the gate - still has his head
bandana in place. He notices that there are two guys
repairing a car and watching their house. Megs comes
and asks Sezhi about kannaku meeting the customers.
Sezhi confirms that Kanakku has been sent and he has
asked him to be patient while talking with them. He goes
on to inform Megs about the guys outside and voices his
doubts about them being a part of " Operation Hit Sezhi"
Megs looks through the window and confirms his doubts -
" yes they are his men . Ippo enna panrathunnu theriyaliye..."
usual hand and saucer act - Tilaga lends her two hands to
knead!!! Kanakku calls saying that the customers are
agitated and are not willing to listen to him. He opines that
the only person who canmake them see reason is Megs!!!
(" vanthu konja neram kaiyai aatti, kannal kathakali
aadinaal pothum mma - free aa neenga?? program
date kuduthudavaa?") Megs agrees and plans to go out
through the back door. While Tilaga frets about Thyagu's
call... He is making sure with his vakil thambi about
the docs being ready. Thambi gives the thumbs up signal ,
Thyagu calls Aadalazhagi Abinaya Sundari and
asks her to rush immediately. Megs wants 1/2 hour
grace time as she has a"small prachnai" which needs
her attention. Thyagu can not fathom any thing being
more important than Kannu's life - he orders her to
get in to the car outside and cuts off the mobile. Tilaga
and Megs decide to give audience and Sezhi promises
to deal with the customers -"they will listen to me akka,
I can do it" - Megs is slightly worried about Sezhi getting
credit -" what if he succeeds?? I am under the impression
that the world revolves around me!" - Athai says that she
too will tag along and Megs does a " neenga, vanthu...
epdi.." drawing her breath in at regular intervals. But
athai is at the front door with quick strides - Tilaga and
Megs follow. They get in to the car and one henchman
brings a can of petrol to be kept in the front seat. Megs
throws a parting advice to Sezhi -" pathamaa pesu, ok?"
Sezhi obeys. Car leaves. Geetha is worried about Sezhi
going alone to confront the customers -"naanum varen
( naanum unga akka mathiri saucer act kuduppen, that is
the first qualification I have to be part of your family after
all!!) Bu Sezhi is fed up of the "thona thonappu" and leaves
- a concerned Geetha watches.

Kanakku in meeting with customers - all are angry and
do not want to be made in to "illicha vaayans" - kanakku
pleads in vain - Sezhi arrives with his bandana. Appeals
to the customers saying that if they lose the money or house,
it can be made good later ( epdi ppa?? life time earning le
than oru veedu vaanga mudiyum!!) but if some thing
happens to his thangachi it can not be set right." pls think
of her as unga veetu ponnu" - All the people who were
shouting calm down now. A lady speaks up " ivanga
solrathu unmaithan pole. namba kitte antha rowdy ai
deal panna help kekkaraanga, why not we do it?" Now
all confer to seek police and fourth estate help -"thambi
ithu inimel enga problem, we will confront that rowdy,
give us his address". Sezhi obliges and all leave.

Thyagu's house - the trio arrive. Thyagu welcomes Megs
and wonders about the accompaniments. But tells her to
sign and take her sister. Athai keeps muttering and
Thyagu is surprised- " enna periamma, munu munu nnu
enna solringa??? sari sari, let us get the deal over with."
Megs now does a wise thing -"Ok , I will sign but I need
to see Kannu before that." Thyagu laughs and says that
Kannu is alive and kicking but Megs stands her ground.
Thyagu's men inch forward with stretched out hands but
Thyagu stops them - " yey enna nee loose aa?? inge 3 perum
thaniyaa vanthu irukkeenga, na ninaicha ungalai Kannu
voda serthu adaikka mudiyaatha??" Athai is angry now and
challenges " enge, pannuviyaa da nee, pannu pappom" But
Thyagu is wise " ethukku?? ava oru aal eppo parthalum
moosu moosu nnu azharathe veetle peryiya vethanai. Ippo
neengalum sernthu oppari vaicha, na veetle irukkaratha
vendama?/ pesame sign pannittu, antha azhugai moottaiyai
eduthukittu poi seru." ( ayyo Thyagu, Roja ninaicha dialogue
ai apdiye sollittinga😳) But Megs is adamant and so Thyagu
asks his men to bring" Mutta kanni" ( Thyagu oru tuition
master vaichu padichingalaa, ipdi nicks kudukka?? antha
master address Roja kku venum, tharuveengalaa??) Kannu
is asked to come out by the men and she asks a very wise Q,
"ethukku?" " ethukkunnu sollatta vara maattiya??" - the men
drag her out giving Kannu an opportunity to practice atsthma
and vik viks. Finally she arrives, has a look at her crying
partners, sprints to akka, hugs and ...... of course they all
cry...... athai is moved but more composed. Thyagu again has
a pertinent Q " neenga 3 perum porantha pothu azhutha
azugaiyai innum niruthave illiya?" ( ayyo Thyagu, u rock
man!! Roja doubts ellam kelvi a kettu doubts clear panna
effort edukkaringale!!) Thyagu goes on" sari, sign pannittu
theru munai le poi start your oppari session, sariya? Megs now
decides to play Kannagi -" ithu unakku konjam aa vathu
sariya paduthaa?? antha customers panam kette, ok. But
ippo enge poora property kekka unakku enna rights na
antha customers kku enna bathil solven?? Enge stomach
burning unnai summa vidumaa?" - recalls her veera vasa-
nams about finishing the project... saving kalai's honor
etc., etc., Kathakali Bharatha natyam, odisi, kuchipudi....
fusion of dances - Thyagu is angry - he says " ozhunga
sign pannittu odidu. Customers kku enna settle pannanum
nnu enakku theriyum. Sign pannatta , un thangaiyai
finish panniduven" - aha ha Megs finally shows two angry side
plates " nee enna kolrathu?? nane pannikkaren" - runs to the car
picks the petrol can....

Thursday 7/2/08 Episode no 172

Recap from yesterday - Abinayasundari dances with her
hands - Kanakku is missing the show, he wanted this
badly in front of the customers!!! - however, the show
continues with different audience and Megs rushes to the
car and gets the petrol can. Pushes Kannu's body guard
away and pulls her to join the K(cr)alai family - douses
generously the petrol on all 4 women, Athai tries to escape
but Megs is all set to go all the way - "none or all of us" -
Tilaga has no clue, Kannu is not perturbed, she anyway
knew that this was coming and glad to have company -
"Thank God, I do not have to sit alone and cry for the
rest . We can all go to the heaven and have a oppari there
as well!!" Now, it is Thyagu's turn to get shocked but poor
guy does not have the luxury of side plates, his eyes narrow
further in anger!!! Megs manages to grab a match box and
Tilaga tries to stop the possible fire works, in vain. Megs is
consumed now with anger and goes on to say " instead of
dying every minute because of loosing our property to this
rowdy , we might as well have a collective bonfire" Athai
interjects a few "no no" s and now Thyagu wants to halt
the diwali celebrations He and his men surround the quartet
and Megs threatens some more " kitte vantha koluthiduven,
then we can all burn" - finally Thyagu manges to hold Megs
and gives her a slap. By then the angry customers led by
Sezhi and kanakku arrive on the spot. There is a big
commotion outside Thyagu's house - one guy calls the
police and asks as to why they are delayed and another
guy calls the press. Inside, Megs is over powered but...
the angry crowd marches in along with the police and press.
Megs can not believe her luck and is glad to see Sezhi.
Fortunately, the inspector is not Karthik (Thyagu's friend)
and so the whole group is transported to the police car.
Vakil thambi assures annan that he will be out soon, Thyagu
throws a final threat to Megs...... the diwali drama ends and
now the media drama starts. Every one wants to talk at the
same time, Megs promises an interview later, Kannu is the
most wanted for photographs, she wisely closes her face
( make up podanum ppa, apram aa vaanga) Sezhi manges
to get 2 autos to take the group home. The angry customers
have a field day with press.....

Danda's house - Amutha is packing her meager belongings
- Angu is told that Sara has found a house and so is coming
to take mom. Angu cries and tries to dissuade Amutha.... bingo.
... Tams arrives asking chithi to make some hot water for her
baby ( ithu kooda nee seyya maatiya??? athu sari unakku
athukku enge neram, vatti business, vetti talk business -
paavam u are over worked!!) Amutha keeps quiet and Angu
tells Tams that chithi is leaving. Tams can not fathom Sara's
anger - " Bhoo enna thappa sonnan?? apdi oru kovam???
Bhoo vanthu mannippu kekkanumaa?? sarithan" Of course
Angu can not stop her ( neeyum Tilaga mathiri oru 15 yrs
behind schedule, ippo athu thirunthumaa??) Bhoo comes and
get apprised of the situation. He is calmer than Tams and
asks chithi not to leave " avanodaa poi nee kashta padathey" -

Sara comes and calls amma from the outside. Bhoo asks him
not to mind words said in anger, Angu appeals to Amutha.....
but Amutha picks her bags " appa inimel oru pattalathukku
vadichu kotta vendam!!" - Tams asks Sara to inform Danda
and leave but Sara refuses - " I still respect him and so only
I came when he is not at home" - both leave. Kalai household -
the quartet have had a water wash after the petrol bath. Geetha
has given them all some coffee. Kannu is lying on Tilaga's lap.
Megs wants to know why Tilaga is so quiet -" ada oru
felicitation organize pannuviya, ennamO innum quiet aa
irukke!!" - Tilags has no words. " kannu is back, enough
for me" - Kirtana feels bad that she did not have a petrol
bath ( liter 60rs, what an expensive bath?? athuvum sponsored
by Thyagu!! hmmmm ) and athai is angry hearing that -"aama ,
avan unnaiyum pidichu vaichu panam keppan, inge ellarum
moolaikku moolai ukkanthu azhuvanga, yaar periyavanga
pechai kekkara inge?? chinna pasanga vellamai veedu
vanthu seruma??" Sezhi takes the floor now -" athai can
u just shut up??? all the problems are because of u and appa.
You both bought the resort land knowing the risks and appa
ran away with out facing the problem" - athai is shocked....
thambiyai pol oru deivam illai.....

Episode No 173 Friday 8/2/08

Recap from yesterday - Athai condemning the actions of
Megsand Sezhi flaring up - " the last prachanai is because
of you. You complained to the police and gave the money to
Danda..." Athai takes her due credit - " what I did ended up
for good. Danda's debt is paid back and the money was not
given to the rowdy. Kannuis also back. So, now start concen-
trating on your lives." ( So true athai, paying back Danda

Tilaga being Tilaga has to find reasons for crying - " my
Kannu's life is lost." Kirtana wants to know as to what
decision has been taken about Kannu's life ( every one
discusses Kannu as if she is an inanimate object!!! no one
wants to know Kannu's choice!!!) Tilaga says that she does
not plan to send Kannu back to Bhoo and athai wants the
decision to be hers. Sezhi cuts her off saying that after calling
Bhoo as a murderer how can Kannu go back. Athai gets
angry and wants to walk out -"thambi pasanga nnu unga
mele paasam vaichene, athukku ithuthan enakku parisu"
- asks Geetha to pack her bag and when Geetha hesitates,
she does it herself. Kanakku tries to stop her but Megs has
no qualms about her leaving " Sezhi asked the right thing
and you have no answers. That is why u want to run away
like dad. You can go , we have no problems" Kanakku begs
her to stay and athai doles out a parting?? advice. " stop
this construction business, all the problems will vanish" but
Megs spreads her saucers and tries to show bravery " I am
not going to go back from my promise to the customers. I
am not going to allow people say that I too ran away like
my dad." ( the hands are just extensions, poor thing has no
clue as to how to speak with hands, just one movement by
both hands repeatedly - pathetic🤪) Athai wants to know
if she plans to bring more misery to the family but Megs
negates any such possibility -"inime ennale only nallathu
to this family" - storms out of the arena and the rest disperse
as well. A fuming athai is alone facing the camera ( Megs
can not show anger to save her life!!! - use of side plates did
not help either!!)

Pechi enters Danda's house - with some important news..
Tams, Bhoo, Angu and Danda - members present. Pechi
narrates the Thyagu incident - Tams asks for details -
Pechi talks about 3 customers.. money.. Kannu... kidnap...
Danda now is happy to know that Kannu was kidnapped
because of Kalai family issues and is angry with athai's
outburst. Tams wants to file for compensation - " Bhoo,
ask for one crore, ok??" Danda takes Bhoo along to go
to Tilaga's house and wants to ask " nakkai pidingi kka
rappole naalu varthai" - Angu tries to stop them but
Danda and Bhoo are keen about a fight with athai. Tams
can notunderstand mommy supporting Tilaga's clan and
tells Bhoo to "catch the kudumi of Vadivu and suda suda
naalu vaarthai kekka" - (why only 4 words??? will they
really stop at 4??) if u come back without accomplishing
that task, I wont let u inside the house". Dad and son leave
- Angu sends Tams in and confronts Pechi -"why do u do
this??? can't u tell me the news quietly?? I could have told
him and now I do not know what will happen there" - Pechi
says that he was happy that Kannu is back and made the
mistake. Angu is worried.

Danda and Bhoo arrive at Tilaga's place. Shout from outside
the house asking athai to come out. Athai is ready to face them
but Sezhi locks her inside a room. Megs, Tilaga ,Kannu, Kirtana
and Sezhi come out and ask the duo to come inside the house
and talk. But of course dad and son have no such intentions -
they want to have a go right from there and start screaming -
" u put my son behind the bars and accused him of murdering
Kannu, now she is back, so how do u plan to atone?" Bhoo for
his part reports the thrashing from the police and needs an
explanation. He goes on to say that Kannu spent some great
time with the dada and wants to know what all happened there.
Megs tries to placate and is ready to ask for pardon. But the
duo is all keyed up and want to see athai. Athai opens the
windows and screams from there " enna da seyvinga???
pombalai nnu pesina kolai vizhum aama" - words get worse
and Danda wants to know how they arranged for 40 lakhs
over night. he goes on to say that Tilaga has 4 pretty looking
girls and any body will pay lakhs and lakhs for them. Tilaga
and clan are shocked to hear this slandering and Tilaga faints......

Episode No 174 Monday 11/2/08

Recap of last episode - Danda saying that the money was
got because of Tilaga having 4 beautiful daughters and
Tilaga fainting. Athai is absolutely livid with anger and
shouts at Danda / Bhoo. Sezhi wants athai to shut up
but athai as usual has a valid argument - " You are not
able to lift a little finger against those rascals for talking
ill of your sisters and u try to shut me up??" - Sezhi has
no answer. Sakthi at home. Pushpa's kid is playing with
some papers and Sakthi finds them to be Diwa's office docs.
Pulls the papers from the kid and the kid cries. Pushpa has
been waiting for an opportunity like this and so happily enters
the arena - " why do u beat the child?? she does not know that
these papers are not to be touched. Athu sari, how do u know
the value of children, u wanted to abort after all.." Nut is
very angry but manages to resort to her family trick - cries.
MIL comes and wants to know the scenario. Pushpa says that
she was just trying to pacify her kid saying that aunt does not
like kids -" was just joking chithi and Sakthi is getting angry" -
Durga asks Pushpa to keep quiet and also asks Sakthi to go
without making a fuss. Sakthi is upset that MIL is chiding her
while the fault lies with Pushpa.

Tilaga's house - (major oppari folks, get geared) - Tilaga
is sitting in a corner with hands on her head and cryinggg
( of course!!) Megs is bringing coffee and asks mom to
drink. Mom finds a break and says that she can not stand
any one talking ill of her children - never stops crying !!,
wonder how these people can cry and talk, some feat!! -
Megs consoles " amma just because someone says some
thing about us, we do not become bad. If u keep crying about
that, then u are giving them the victory and their mission of
hurting us gets completed ( Roja's dialogue, copy adichuttanga
ppa!!!) Please stop crying. In future, we shall bring good luck
only to this house." Calls Sezhi and asks him to keep off
construction site -" I will take care of it. You look for a nice
job and get settled, ok??? And, Kirtana all your concentration
on studies only, ok? After that u too should get a good job
and settle" - goes to Kannu and does not know what to say.
Kannu is all seasoned now (Thyagu training summa vaa!!).
Tells akka that she just needs some time to gather herself
and then she will definitely do her part to her family. Megs
pulls Kannu to Tilaga and expresses her surprise at Kannu's
wisdom. And now, a big oppari hugging each other -
( ellathukkum azhutha enna emotion nnu puriya maaten-
garathu!!!) - Megs has a final shot " amma, u may be unlucky
in getting a hubby but u have 4 good children ( what about
Nut??? Megs totally forgot or she does not deserve the
adjective 'good"???) and we will do u proud. Athai is not
around to sing "Thambiyai pol oru deivam"!!!

Danda's house. Dad and son sitting and reading some thing.
Angu comes with coffee and wants to know why the duo is at
home - "engiyo poganum nnu sonningale, pogalai??" - Danda
says that the appointment is postponed to the evening and
wants to know if Angu is unhappy to have them home. Angu
is pensive and goes near the door looking for some one.
Mr.Tams enters and sees a worried athai. Wants to know
why she is restless and Angu says that she has asked the
astrologer to come -" Bhoo and Kannu horoscope pathu
yethanum parikaaram pannalam nnu ninaichen. Intha duo
veetle irukku, enna nadakkumo??" Mr.Tams shows that
he is also an useful person to have around the house - reminds
dad and son about some debtor who has money now and if
they go right away can milk the money out. Dad and son leave,
Angu heaves a sigh which gets nullified by Tams presenting
herself -" enna, enga appa kku theriyame athai yum maruma-
ganum yethanum plan panringalaa?? na pottu kuduthuduven.."
Angu shuts her up by saying that the astrologer is expected
and she wants to check the horoscopes of Bhoo and Kannu -
Tams says"Kannu vaa?? athan arthu vittache.." Angui is angry
and looks at the threshold.

Episode No 175 Tuesday 12/02/08

The much awaited josiyar arrives. Angu shows the
horoscopes of Bhoo and Kannu to him. He does the
usual finger counting act of all astrologers muttering -
'mm, sukran mmm raghu,,,, mm" and finally closes the
books. Angu asks with a lot of expectations - "samy,
epdi irukku rendu jathagamum?" Astrologer says that
these two horoscopes are just made for each other
(???!!! oh my God!!) Tams interjects saying that from the
time they got married life is full of police, jail etc, etc., and
so the marriage should become null and void. The astrologer
goes on to say that this girl is Godsend to Bhoo and she is
the only person who can resurrect him. Tams is all set to
find out the details" what if they get divorced?" - Josiyar
says that Kannu's life will be great but Bhoo will be doomed.
Tams hates the josiyar and asks him to leave taking his fee.
After he leaves, Mr.Tams asks athai about such a development
and Angu wants to go and bring Kannu home. Tams objects
but Angu is determined- (antha ponnu epdi pona enakku
enna?? yennoda tharuthalai son must live happily. Kannu
inge vantha he can torture her every day and will have some
fun in life, what say mappillai???) Tams has a final quip" athu
sari, Kannu than intha veetukku ezharai, po po".

Sara and Amutha - in their own place - Sara has a book in
his hands and talks about Kannu liking it -"paavam ma
Kannu, intha chinna vayasile ethanai kashtam, padippu,
azhagu, gunam ella irunthum ipdiya??...." goes on to sing
Kannu pathikaram - Amutha stops him sensibly " Dey ,
I spoketo Angu yesterday and she told me that Danda and
Bhoo went to Kannu's place and called them all kinds of
names. Kannu gets branded when she does not do anything
and if they come to hear your accolades, she will be in deeper
trouble. If u really want her to be happy, do not talk about
her and if u want to feel bad for her , do it with in yourself, ok?"
The house owner comes and shouts at Amutha and Sara -
" your son is drying his lungi and banian just next to my
sister's clothes!!! how can he??? go and remove it." He does
not forget to add that all Sara has to do is pull out his clothes
"no looks this side or that side, beware!!" Sara goes to pull
them out - hears some one singing "kannan varum velai"
and sees a hand with bangles.He stops for a minute but later
rushes in as he is reminded of the house owner's warning.

Tilaga's household - all are busy getting ready for their
respective vocations (for a change, no one is crying -yet!!!).
Megs has no time to eat and so asks mom for a coffee -
"pls pack my food" - Sezhi is also setting out to find a job
as per Megs' instructions. Asks for his daily allowance from
sis. Kannu wants to go for some job as well- " amma nanum
velaikki poren" - Tilaga asks her to relax for a while and then
can decide. Bingo... Angu arrives 'Kanmaniii..." Tilaga and
Megs are stunned and finally Kannu finds her tongue
" vaanga athai". Angu is offered a seat but she declines.
"intha mathiri oru marumagalai nalla vaichu pathukka enakku
luck illiye" - Megs is quick to point out that it is ok if she is
not able to take care of her DIL but it will be a great idea
if they do not stamp all over her. Now Tilaga , Kannu and
Megs draw deep breaths - can not differentiate though, must
be the same play back voice doing at one stroke and we have
to figure out which is whose!!! - Tilaga says that"sambhandhi
and mappillai" (???!!!) came and doled out the choicest abuses.
Angu says that she knows only too well about her folks and
can surmise what they would have talked. Apologizes on their
behalf and wants to take Kannu with her. (awwww athai where
are u???) Saucers and side plates are brought out in confusion/
surprise and no one talks. Angu goes on to say that right now
Bhoo has some bad time and the josiyar opines that only
Kannu can reform him (adi paavi, un ponna iruntha ipdi selfish
aa think pannuviya??? yr moron son can go to hell, how can
you make this girl the sacrificial goat???) After some exchange
of glances, Kannu decides that she will go to her in-law's
place - "entha mamiyaraavathu ipdi DIL ai koopiduvaangalaa?
na poren akka, amma" - Tilaga is stunned for a moment.
Kannu goes on to say "ethanai naal neenga ennai vaichu
kappatha mudiyum?" - this must have opened Tilaga's
eyes -" ayyo da one more mouth to feed??" - Tilaga and
Megs decide to let Kannu have her way ( adi paavikala, manase
illiya ungalukku?? antha ponnai ipdi anuppalaama?? , athaiiiii
udane vaanga, pleaseee...) Megs wants Tilaga to go and leave
Kannu but Kannu quickly says that she will go with her MIL -
she leaves( neither athai nor God heard Roja's distress cry!!!)
and Megs and Tilaga look on as if it is some third person leaving
their house!!!!

Episode No 176 Wednesday 13/2/08

Kannu and Angu in the auto. Angu has a deal with all the whole
sale dealers for Manjal and kumkum. - she buys from the whole
Mylapore tank area and the latest news is that all the shop
owners of that area are camping in Erode for Manjal and
kumkum making industry is flourishing!!! Angu starts the
conversation saying that she could not believe her ears
when Kannu agreed to tag along -" nee yen ma ivvalavu
nalla ponna irukke?" ( she must have meant to ask ipdi
mandayai mandayai aatti, kazhuthai kattariye, nee ponna
illatta aattu kuuttiya??) Kannu puts on the most paavam
face ( no sympathy from the viewers Kannu - if u dig yr own
grave..) She says that all girls are in terror of their MIL s
but she is lucky to have a MIL who is as good as another
mother - " even now, I am coming there only for u, do u think
that yr son and hubby will accept me with open arms?? I know
I am in for a lot of criticism and you be ready for a archanai
for yourself" ( ithanai clarity irukku, apram yen ange pore??
loosa di nee???) She goes on to say that she did not want
Tilaga to come because she expects fire works from FIL
and hubby and she does not want Tilaga to be at the receiving
end -" enakku parava illai, yen manasu marathupochu athai" -
Angu holds Kannu and cries - athu sari Tilaga veettu pakkam
ponaale antha disease thothikkum pole!!!!

Ranga's house - Ranga is smiling in a photograph with a cheap
garland around. Devraj sheds some crocodile tears to some one
who has come and the advocate enters. Devraj calls "maama,
chithi, ellarum vaanga, lottery results ippo theriyum" - Advocate
pours ice cold water on that fire -" if Megala is found before
Ranga dies,all the property will go to her. if she is not found ,
then every thing will go to the trust which runs the orphanage
and other charitable institutions. Ranga has given 5 lakhs to
Devraj, 2 lakhs to PA and 1 lakh each to all his servants" -
The vultures are dejected. Devraj fumes but advocate laughingly
says that the will is registered and so has to be executed. He
says that Ranga has left his cell phone to Devraj - Devraj is
unhappy that the walking stick and glasses have not been willed
to him. PA reminds Deva about the 50 lakhs taken to Madras
and advocate asks him to lodge a police complaint immediately.

Megs on the phone - giving some serious instructions to
Kanakku about using the available cement. She promises
to come soon and take over. Athai comes back from the
temple with 2 lemons. Kirtana wants to know about her
prayers and athai says that she prayed for Kannu's good life.
She goes on to say that if Kannu lights lamps with the lemons
on Tuesdays and Fridays, her life will improve and she will
live happily with hubby. Athai asks for Kannu and the saucers
reveal that Kannu has gone to her in-law's place with her
MIL. (athai rocks!!! she asked/said all that the viewers
have in mind - Roja did a boom boom maadu act listening
to athai's dialogues -wow , way to go athai!!) Athai:
" ennathuuu??/ Kannu maamiyar veetukku poittalaa??
yen di ungalukku moolai ye kidaiyaatha??? epdi di

Roja ninaichathu poora kettutinga, down to earth atahi
neenga, veetukku oru athai like this is enough) Megs
tries to pacify saying that they need to be positive and they
could not refuse when Angu wanted to take Kannu. She goes
on to say that athai also went to temple to pray for Kannu
to unite with hubby and so, what is the big deal. Athai now
has a very sensible solution-" yes, i want her to live with
hubby, happily. But u can not just send her like this. We
need to get a few peoplearound and get a guarantee from
her in-laws that she will be treated well and no harm will
come to her. Only after that is settled, we should send her.
Why did u not wait for me to come back from the temple
before sending her?? athu sari, ammavum ponnum munu
munu nnu pesi yethanum seyvinga, apram ukkanthu

- storms out leaving Tilaga , Megs and Kirtana. ( looks like
Kirtana agrees with athai, she has an understanding look -
athai is right after all!! and athai is really attached to her
bro's kids - she shows her concern and love differently, that
is all!!) Kannu and Angu arrive home(??!!) Tams is the first
to see them. Goes to dad and bro - " appa, na sonnene, amma
antha Kannu vai kootti vanthirukku" Bhoo gets up angrily
but Danda stops him saying that he will play the game.
Kannu enters tentatively and Danda shouts " Nillu" -

Episode No 177 Thursday 14/2/08

Recap from yesterday - Danda shouting "nillu" - Asks
Angu as to why she brought Kannu here. Angu says
that Kannu is the DIL of the house and if Bhoo has to
be happy, it is imperative that Kannu gets back to him
(josiyar sollittare!!) Angu appeals to Danda to show
some "periya manusha thanmai!!" ( on behalf of Danda
Roja asks - apdinna enna Angu??? vattikki vattikki
vattiyaa??) - now Danda is all ready with his list. "When
Sakthi ran away, I accepted Kannu as my DIL (ayyoda, ithu
periya sacrifice than!!) When Kalai could not give the money
I still wanted my DIL here, her people came and shouted
during the naming function, her athai put Bhoo behind bars
saying that he killed Kannu - all this I tolerated , but no more,
ask her to quit" - Tams is happy to have a field day, jumps up
and down - "amma called you to come , ok, aana where did
your senses go???" (good Q Tams, same sentiments here!!)
" Bhoo was happy with friends, cards, drinks etc., and once
this woman came poor fellow is all the time in police station" -
Bhoo shouts saying that it is him who should decide about
living with Kannu. Angu shouts at Tams saying that she has
no right to interfere in this which is seconded by Mr.Tams
( By the way avar peru enna?? any oneknows??) Well,
Kannu now appeals to Supreme court - Danda - " yes all
that u listed happened, agreed. But the mistakes were
done by Sakthi, my dad and athai. What is my mistake??
did I do any thing??" Looks like this point hit where it should....

Kannu's Q reaches home but Bhoo springs back - " enna
romba saamarthiyamaa pesariya??? u kept quiet always,
never supported me or my family, U talked highly about
that Diwahar and now u talk as if u have not done any
mistake" Tams joins the fray saying that Kannu always stood
behind the door and cried whenever there was a turmoil -"that
is the easiest thing to do, and now u dole out clever dialogues
( athu sari konja neram saucers and side plates mathiri
azhuthu paaru, athu onnum easy illai!!). Danda says that he
can not go along with this and Bhoo wants Kannu to sign
the divorce papers. Kannu says that the only mistake she
did was to marry Bhoo when all elders came and requested
her on the day of the marriage but Tams is quick to point
out that Kannu did that for the sake of her family honor.
Kannu agrees to sign the divorce papers under one condition
" on the day of the wedding, u had one whole load of people
asking me to marry. Bring all of them again,I will sign in front
of those people ( apdiyaavathu Odi pona enga appanai kandu
pidinga!!) Danda asks her to leave, Angu cries but Kannu
turns to leave. Tams asks her to wait, goes in, brings in
Kannu's bag and throws it at her " nee ennikki irunthalum
intha veetai vittu poganum nnu theriyum, athan readily
packed bag, now u leave" kannu leaves and Angu begs
her not to leave. Kannu says that she expected all this and
understands Angu's affection -"parava illai athai, let me
go" Now Angu offers to accompany her but Kannu says that
she can go alone as she has to live alone in future ( Thyagu
jail le irukkan athai, so no one will kidnap me now!!!) Angu
apologizes for bringing her here, Kannu leaves.

Kannu walks slowly towards her house. Kirtana is in the
terrace studying, sees Kannu's slow walk, runs down,
informs mom and akka - all go to meet Kannu in the nadu
theru. Tilaga asks "Kannu ennamma aachu??? sollumma."
Starts crying but Megs has the presence of mind to say that
no crying in nadu theru - " amma not here" ( ulla poi round
katti ukkarnthu namba usual fashion le azhalam vamma,
enna than aanalum antha jor, sugam varumaa??) Athai comes
out and watches all this with a stern face. The Kalai women go
in, seat themselves comfortably around Kannu ( ready, steady
goooo...) Tilaga starts the ball rolling " ennamma aachu??
yen thirumbi vanthutte??" for which Kannu says that she
is back for good. By now Athai is in and again voices all
the right things. " Yen di ethania tharam seruppu adi
pattalum ungalukku buthi varathaa??? Eppo vanthu
yaar koopiduvangannu pottiyai pack panni anuppuvin-
gala?? antha Angu vanthu kooppittanna anupparatha?
ava antha moron Bhoo voda amma thane?? last time
when the issue of money was there, me and bro said
that Kannu should not go there, but Tilaga sent her
with SIL saying that her life will be gone if she does
not go. And now this.... every time they take her..

MIL calls her. Tilaga has no voice, she is stunned that she
even holds crying. Athai is fuming... Kannu asks athai not to
talk ill of MIL 'only because of her I lasted in that house for
this many days . The hubby and FIL who came and shouted
here are the same, is n't it??? they said what is expected of
them only" Tilaga wants to cry with her daughters but Kannu
is not game.Athai says that as long as her bro was there they
lived with rosham and maanam but now all is lost. Megs wants
this history to be discussed later ( innum neriya chance venum
athai azha, appo marakkame ninaivu paduthunga, ok??) Kannu
says that being unwanted by people is the worst form of suffering
and she has gone through that. Now she wants to resurrect her
life and asks Megs to get her a job through Anitha. Megs is
happy that Kannu is all strong and promises to find her a job.
All adjourn inside ( yey vaangappa, athai kannule padaame
oru round crying session podalaam!!) Athai looks determined....
