he was happy when Anami told him that the results would prove that she is not Satrupa's daughter and he smiled coz that meant Satrupa would loose. but then if that happens Avdhoot would be the heir and he'll definitely make his life miserable. so why was Narottam not worried about that?

tbh Narottam is a character whose inntentions are never clear to me. and I attribute that to some really good writing. but I would like for someone to come up with an explanation for this. coz till now I thought his whole game plan was to make Satrupa Pujan and Baldev fight with eachother so that they will all end up destroying each other and he can at last swiftly claim his victory. but the fact that he was happy that Satrupa was falling out of the race even before she dealt any lethal blow to Pujan makes me question that theory.

so what do you guys think?

I think your theory about Satrupa and Pujan destroying each other still holds true.

For Narottam, I feel it would have been easier to topple Pujan once an heirless Satrupa is out of the picture. Perhaps he and Sudha were just bidding their time before making their surgical move or making their claim even after Avdoot is crowned. Avdoot is not the biological heir as he is.

But now that that is far from being so, he'll make the most of Anami's disregard of the norms of Lal Mahal. She's a rule breaker and what more could he ask for?

He's turning out to be the biggest threat, mainly to Anami now since he's keeping his enemy close. When Anami is declared as the legal heir Pujan will be kept under dominion and Narottam will slowly begin to show his latent aggression that has so far been used only on himself, and more.

As I see it Narottam is no doubt weapon used by Sudha for her motives.

But, Narottam himself wants justice to his sufferings in LM too. That he fulfills by seeing the LMians suffer. Whenever any member of LM suffer somewhere he is satisfied seeing them tensed, anxious , falling apart or in tears. His support to his mother on her intentions is something he sees as his duty which he needs to fulfil as his mother has suffered a lot in her life.

Narottam in every way seeks for justice. Sometimes Justice for his sufferings and sometimes for his mother's.

As of now, I could say only that much.

its simple narootam is sudha-baldev son so he is elder heir of lalmahal so basically he must be the head to the royal steel but since sudha-baldev are not married he is not excepted by the family and they term him as illegitimate child of baldev.

so sudha is using narootam just to return to lalmahal but till now it didn't work but since anami hates her mom she wants narootam to use anami using his emotional drama so that the girl can fight for his rights and bring sudha back thats the game plan .

basically sudha wants her son to be the first one .

narootam is not bad but frustrated soul who is prey to be treated badly since childhood treated like a refugee by the family neither his father baldev treated him well nor sudha so narootam is shady .

why baldev didn't except him because sudha is grey too and because of his affairs his father kept him away from his business and rights and was married off to matlabi mataji(sadrupa)when she got to know baldev had kid father in law gave rights to her instead of baldev so baldev is angry because he feels because of her father kept him aside and trusted her more than him so basically baldev dislikes sadrupa same does sadrupa dislikes him too because there family hid the truth about narootam being the son yet they hooked her with him ..

truly a chakravyuh ...

narootam wants power that is possible when anami is in the game but he doesn't want her around because he wants the power and see sadrupa as failure because he hates "chotimaa".

his hate is towards the whole family who treated him like dirt and pujan and his family is on the top list of his hatred list.

only person he liked was Vatsalya because he was a great human being who treated him well so is anami in future ...

after sudha entry we might get it straight about there mindset (harmless /dangerous)

thank you everyone for the opinions you shared here. I think I will give another week to try and understand Narottam's intentions because right now I feel he is just improvising his plans as per the situation. kind of like how Joker in the Dark Knight or Peter Baelish in GOT worked. let us wait and see how his intentions are made clear to the audience.

I agree. He wants anami because he knows he can manipulate her. He can lead her to his favor. But at same time he wants to see Satrupa fail. If Anami's DNA truth would have been negative it would have been a huge blow for Satrupa. Which narottam would have love to witness.

I still have my doubts on whether Narottam truly liked Vatsalya.
