Guys I have got a research project relating to the television industry and I have find out why television viewers in India prefer to watch Infinite series (Yeh Rishta, SNS) over Finite series (POW, Everest, Dahleez or vice versa. Is it because of the content, actors or character you can relate to or there is any other reason

Why people prefer watching Reality shows over Daily soaps or vice versa. Is it because of some celebrity you like or bored of watching daily soaps or you believe reality is fake or any other factor

What factors are considered while selecting a contestant for Reality Shows like Roadies, any dance or musical show? Do the contestants offer money or they really consider the talent or any other factor

Please reply me because I have to collect 100 responses. Please help for making a constructive research.

Thank you

Personally I prefer infinite because of character development. In my opinion, it has always been a challenge for finite series to really create a character that has real depth, whereas with infinite the characters are given space to display themselves fully. Furthermore, it is easier to form a connection over time, and infinite series run for so long that we become well acquainted with the characters - we even love the villains in a weird way, because they're familiar.

Personally, I can watch a reality show once in while, if it is on and there is little else to watch, but I would not say that Indian Television is best portrayed by reality shows. I feel in most reality shows the participants try to be overly westernised, and it looks comedic at best - sorry my honest opinion😳.

I'm going to be slightly controversial here and give an example - don't hate me please, but the competitive reality shows (those featuring celebrities) are definitely rigged. I mean I watched Nach Baliye this year - biggest mistake of my life. Abigail and Sanam were by far the most superior dancers - and that was a dance show. They only came second. Okay you can say that Sanam was a professional so they were more lenient to amateurs, but the winners showed neither superior skill, nor exceptional growth over the course of the show. If it had been about the growth factor as dancers then the winners should have been Mohit and Sanaya. They seriously improved so much. Anyway, learnt my lesson. No more Nach Baliye, EVER!

I've never watched Roadies, but celebrity status definitely helps in any competitive show.
Hope this helped

Ok...i am a long lost member of this forum..i decided to be away from these stuffs as i am in a crucial moment of my studies phase...but after seeing such a post i really wanna pour myself out..i dont know whether i am good at putting words or so..

...
Ok...Dahleez I loved it...me and my mom(she is a doctor by profession) used to watch it...it had everything..lacked nothing...there was drama...chemistry...villain..but it lacked TRP factor...Suhasini(the leads mom,a lawyer) was also a possesive mother...she was possesive about the status and for her son as well...the female lead Swadheenta is also a lawyer...so its a perfect tale which depicted the modern today society...aaj kal ki ladkis work...so does this saas-bahu jodi..

Everest was a show running behind ones dream..it also had love..spiciness and alll...so why these finite stories failed????...after a long research to myself i got these answer...

TV viewers can be divided by age phase...below 40...above 40(accordingly to me)
below 40..fresh bloodies..who wanna achieve something...who wanna create a revolution...they want changes...they love changes...so they watch these kinda unique...practical..i mean not so illogical shows...the problem is below 40 are the ones...who runs behind money..i meant a good note here..we below 40 are the ones who work hard..bcoz its a age of being hyperactive which motives us to work hard..earn more...achieve big...so watching a show after 9pm may not suit us as we will be tired and off to sleep and also before 9pm also doesnt help us..kyunki we might be struck in our official works...or maybe we might be having several commitments...

so we prefer watching it online on the time we feel we need entertainment...which earns zero penny of TRP...

Now moving to the above 40...they do not belong to oldies..yet they have experianced alot in society..in their working places...etc...so they knew the fact ki revolution is my foot kinda type..its not practical in modern society..truth has no way in this cruel world...if you wanna fight for justice people will throw stones at you...people will be like...oh come on..be a deaf ear..why do u wanna engage urself in trouble...this happpens..so logically they find these kinda revolutionary naya soch dramas stupid...

who knows maybe after 30 years..i will behave the same...
Its like you know something is impossible phir bhi try karna after a age we will feel fisool baath...

And your other ques..about Reality shows
they are damn addictive...they have masala...entertaiment..so it has mass viewers..
Hume pata hai yeh log reality show ki naam par natak kar raha hai...phir bhi we watch it and laugh at them..accordingly a sadist plessure for me..i dont know abt other viewers...

REality shows are scripted..talent zero values...only the fame..gossips works down there...Nach Baliye..i kknew at the very first DIVEK will be winners...phir bhi i watched it..Sanam and Abigal was fab...MoNaya bhi...phir bhi...sorry to say that INdian telly cinema has a long way to go..no offense i felt it...I watched roadies...its scricpted...i think i watch something like ex roadies...the clear winner was mohit(sorry i dont know his name) but they switched it to a girl named Palakh . In the final task the boy was asked to carry 10 kgs of extral weight..but the girl wasnt..and girls was literally pulled by the wires connected to her while perfoming the final task..i was like shit...i will never ever watch such a crap ever...i regret watching it..

But shows like naagin work right..how
i think the whole plot is an imagination...do we see a naagin girl at our door..no naah...so in an imagination plot we can use as many illogical tracks as we want for fantasy...people thinks its a imaginary plot..so its ok..it cannot happen in reality...this is the state of mind..but when an illogical thing happens in a serious practical story..like dahleez and so we below 40 who watches the show feels it...and criticize it...how shitty is it..aise hoti hai kya...we questions...i think this is what i feel personally
