Chapter-22
"Nope, not happening."
Annika was currently roaming around her house as a particularly persistent CAT kept on following her. This had been going on since the past half an hour, as Shivaay practically begged her to come on this trip, while Annika downright refused. How could she agree, anyway? Was he mad or something? Here they were, struggling to hide their relationship from his family even, and he wanted to go to Goa? Moronic, stupid, baggad billa!
But Shivaay wasn't going to relent either. Oh, they would definitely go to Goa, and if for that he had to become his SSO version, he would.
"So, you aren't going to agree?" Shivaay tried one last time, leaning against the kitchen counter as she put on the kettle to make some tea.
"Nope," Annika repeated, popping the P.
In a second, before she could comprehend what was happening, she had been pulled by Shivaay and caged against the wall, one of his arm wrapped around her wrists and holding them above her head.
"Sh-Shivaay, what are you doing?" She asked, gulping. It had been long since she had seen that old fire in his eyes, along with that arrogant look. Now that she was open about her feelings, she had to admit- it made him look hot, and was a serious turn on.
"Nothing, baby. Just telling you, in fact, warning you, that you have to come to Goa with me." He replied in a deep, low voice, face inches away from hers.
Annika tried to regain some of her confidence and composure, but it was seriously difficult seeing how his cologne was creating havoc in her senses. Wriggling her hands in vain, she replied haughtily.
"Warning me, huh? And what will you do if I don't go with you?"
Shivaay seemed to think about it for a moment, until a smirk formed on his face. Leaning in closer to her lips, he replied-
"Well, since if you don't go, the tickets will go to waste, I might just take along Tia with me..."
There, he had gone and done it. Played his final card that was sure to work with his possessive, sassy girlfriend.
Annika's eyes widened as she took in what he had said. Hey eyes changed emotions, from confusion, to realization, to utter rage and jealousy. In a moment of fiery strength, she managed to finally pull away her hands, cupped his face, and took him in for a hungry kiss that told him that he was all hers. Not that he needed to be told, but who was complaining? Shivaay grinned against her lips, and wrapped his arms around her thin waist.
"Don't you dare," Annika breathed out in a husky voice after pulling away, "take that stupid Ms. Reiki's name in our matters."
Shivaay grinned like a child seeing her possessiveness, and pulled her even closer.
"Sorry, baby. But I had to make you agree by hook or crook..."
Annika sighed, and rested her head against his muscular chest.
"Think about it rationally, Shivaay. How can we just go to Goa like this? What if people find out? I don't want your family to think bad about me, Shivaay."
"No one will find out, Annika. I have everything sorted out. I've talked to Sahil's teacher," Annika raised her face at this point, a baffled look on her face, but Shivaay continued before she could interrupt, "and his trip to Delhi is from this Thursday to the next. You just have to tell the family that you're accompanying him to Delhi, while I tell them that I'm going to Singapore for a business deal- simple! And OmRu are here to handle everything, anyway."
Annika pondered over this for a moment, looking for more excuses.
"And what about the media, Shivaay? Do you know how...how scandalous it will be if they find out about this? They made such a huge ruckus when I defended you by saying you spent a night with me, now if they get a whiff of this trip, they'll RUIN your reputation!"
Shivaay placed a quick kiss on her lips, seeing her so concerned about his reputation rather than her own.
"You don't have to worry about that, Annika. NO one will find out, I promise you that. I'll have Khanna on the lookout for any media in Goa, and he'll make sure that they can't get to us. Okay?"
Annika nodded, still skeptical about the whole thing. A whole week in Goa, with only Shivaay! As much as the prospect thrilled and excited her, it scared her too.
"This is such a big step, Shivaay," She mumbled.
Shivaay smiled, and rested his forehead against hers.
"I know, baby. And I want to take this step, with you. Please agree, Annika. You have no idea how much it kills me to be hiding our relationship from the world, to kiss and hold you secretly when I have full rights to do so. Can we have just this one week, for ourselves? I know we can do this after the Kapoor fiasco is cleared too, but I need you now, to help me get through the tough time that is surely coming."
He said that so earnestly, Annika couldn't help but smile, her heart filling with love for this imperfect, yet flawless man in front of him.
"I'll think about it," She replied at last, giving Shivaay atleast some hope that she might agree. "But if I do agree, you have to make sure that no one, and I mean NO ONE, finds out. If they do, I will never ever go anywhere with you ever again!"
Shivaay gulped, before nodding.
"Of course, love." He replied, definitely a bit scared at her threat. Annika smirked contently, before placing a soft kiss on his lips.
They had a bit of time to themselves after this, much of which was spent making out on the lumpy piece of furniture Annika called a couch. Sahil arrived soon after, and he and Shivaay engaged in a game of mock-sword fighting, while Annika looked at the two men of her life with a warm glow in her eyes. She made a dinner of aloo puri, and Shivaay agreed to eat on the condition that she feed him herself. She finally agreed to it, albeit being red-faced during the entire meal while her little brother giggled on.
"Do think about it, okay?"
They were standing on the porch of her house as Shivaay was about to leave.
"I really want this vacation, with you, Annika. Just think about it- you and me, away from everyone, not having to hide, it'll be so much fun!" Shivaay exclaimed boyishly.
"I know, Shivaay. In fact, I've always wanted to go to Goa!" Annika admitted, a childish glint in her eyes too. "But, She continued, "We have to consider everything else, too. You wouldn't want to ruin the plan and then sabotage all our future trips now, would you?"
Shivaay chuckled at that, looping his arms around her waist.
"Don't worry about that. I'll make sure everything is perfect to the T. You forget, Ms Annika, that you have a boyfriend who is capable of turning the world upside down for his loved ones. And I'll remind you, that he's desperately, and madly, in love with you."
Annika giggled at that, before ruffling his hair and earning a protest in return. Finally, she ushered him away and into his car, waving as he drove by. Going back inside the house, she was just cleaning up the plates, lost in her own thoughts of whether she should agree or not, when Sahil interrupted her from where he sat doing his homework.
"You should just say yes, didi!"
Annika gasped, and hurried over to sit beside him.
"How did you know about this?" Annika asked with narrowed eyes.
"Actually, I met SSO outside before he came to the house. He told me about it." Sahil shrugged, and Annika mentally facepalmed herself.
"What exactly did he tell you?"
"Asked me, more like. If he can take you to Goa while I go to Delhi. You should just go, didi! It'll be sooo much fun! You can take pictures of the beach and show me later!" Sahil said happily, flashing his teeth and showing off the missing ones.
Annika sighed. Did Shivaay leave a single scope for her to say no?
"Tu jaake so ja, I'll think about it," She replied while packing away his books.
"Okay, but make sure you say yes!" He laughed, and staggered away quickly before she could catch him. Annika let out a smile despite herself. She really was excited at the prospect of going, and spending what would probably be the most fun and relaxing week of her life, with him. And truth be told, she knew that he would handle everything perfectly. But there was something else inhibiting her too- the fact that they would be completely alone, and that he would get to do whatever he wanted with her, while she would probably let him...
Blushing at the mere thought, she went off to sleep. Tomorrow, she would declare her decision.
**
Shivaay delayed going to office the next morning, waiting for Annika to arrive. He had texted her a million times in the morning, to know her answer, but she had only seen-zoned him, making him fume with anger. Now, as he paced the living room in long strides, continuously glancing at the front door, he could feel his mother's confused gaze on him.
"Oh My Mata, Shivaay. What has happens to you? You've been walking here for so long, mujhe toh chakkar aa rahe hai!"
Shivaay rolled his eyes.
"Can't I just walk, mom? If your head is spinning, you can go sit somewhere else!"
He realized he was being rude, but a particularly infuriating woman had already messed with his head. His mom just raised her hands in surrender, and went on reading the magazine she was holding.
"Good Morning, everyone!" It was Daksh, sporting his usual jolly smile, that got on Shivaay's nerves now. Actually, everything was getting on his nerves today.
"Morning," he mumbled in reply, making Daksh frown.
"Woah, what has bitten YOU so early in the morning?
"That's what I've been asking too, Daksh beta," Pinky butted in. "But when does he ever reply to me?"
Shivaay would have replied, maybe saying something about her being overdramatic for no reason, but at that moment, the reason for his annoyance walked in. Followed by Tia, but he couldn't have cared less about her.
"Good morning, Shivaay babyy!" Tia drawled, making both him and Daksh cringe, while Annika just rolled her eyes. "How are you today? I sent you reiki last night, so I think you should be fabulous!" She continued with that sugary sweet smile, oblivious to his obvious nonchalance.
"Depends on the answer I get, actually," Shivaay replied looking straight at Annika, who turned pink at his straight-forwardness.
"Answer?" Tia asked confused.
"Oh, just something regarding business. Never you mind." He shrugged her off.
"Annika, you listens to me," Pinky acknowledged Annika, "We have to confirm everything with the decorators today itself, okay? I don't want to delay anymore."
Annika nodded positively, before moving forward to go a bit nearer to Shivaay.
"Actually, Pinky aunty," She started, stealing a glance at him to see if he was listening- he was, of course. Very attentively.
"I needed to tell you that I won't be able to come to work for a week, starting this Thursday. Sahil has an Olympiad in Delhi, and I need to go with him."
Shivaay Singh Oberoi could have jumped and danced in happiness, uncaring about the world, but composed himself in time. The wide smile that showed off his perfect teeth, however, refused to leave his face. Thankfully, though, everyone present there were busy in their own thoughts. Pinky looked downfallen, since it had become absolutely impossible for her to function without Annika (much like her own son), while Daksh cursed his fate for taking Annika further away from him, the closer he tried to get. Tia was busy inspecting her freshly manicured nails.
"A holiday, Ms Annika?" Shivaay asked her with a smirk, deciding to play a little to punish her for keeping him at an absolute edge. "Don't you think you should discuss it with you employer, first?"
"I should," Annika replied confidently, giving him a smirk in return. "In fact, I'll just be going up to Dadi to tell her," With that, she rushed upstairs, not before looking back and sending Shivaay's way a discreet wink that had his heart doing violent somersaults. He was about go after her, before remembering something and turning back to his mother.
"Oh, by the way, mom- I'm going to Singapore for a week this Thursday, for a business deal."
No one present there related these two trips to each other, and even if they had, well- Shivaay Singh Oberoi couldn't have cared less, since he was too busy thinking of spending a week with his lady love, surrounded by the sea, and mostly, by the bed!
Up next- They arrive at Goa. Are you all thrilled or is it just me?
Let me tell you, this will be a very... hot trip, and you'll get to witness a very different side of Annika- bold, sexy, confident... and an altogether very girlfriend-ish version, too. You probably won't think she's much like the Annika in the show, but then again, this is a fanfiction for a reason! ;)
