What a beautiful episode!

How beautifully the writers juxtaposed the twins coming home.

Vatsalya came in a box of memories...delivered to his bereaving father, who needed to be assured that he was not just a memory to fade away. Such a touching poem!

As the proud father sat there, honouring his beloved son's memory, came the seemingly rude interlude from down below. It was that unbelievably boorish girl announcing her entry into the mansion. What a glaring variance to the child he had just lost!

Tujhme itna gussa kyun hai?

Tujhme itni sannaata kyun hai?

Let me welcome you home with exuberant shouts of joy!

So, you were the one to fill my emptiness...

What a lovely aura, when two divergent personalities come home together!

Not so pretty, when Baldev decides to take on Anami in a verbal battle, only to tell himself he deserves to die in chullu bhar paani'! What an opportunity for Anami , to snap at the heartless aristocracy that has imprisoned her in a golden cage!

Dadi plays the invisible referee here, so father and daughter get acquainted with each other.

Yet another beautiful segment, where Anami misses her pagli panditayin...she would ask about her- whether she ate, when she got back...the world didn't understand her the way pagli panditayin did. Would her mother scold them all for being so mean to her?!

Satrupa watches on, knowing she will only ruin the moment, if she dared to interrupt.

The opening segment: Murari Pathak explaining to his wife why he didn't trust anyone, explaining the significance of the name, Lal Mahal. He just wants his daughter to be safe there, for he knows even she won't be spared if a sacrifice needed to be made. He imparts the same wisdom to Anami- let not her one hand know what the other does. That is how explicit his advice to his daughter is...

And he is right.

No one would be spared in Lal Mahal. Anami herself wasn't. She had already been sacrificed once.

PS: Just wanted to share two thoughts regarding the child Satrupa gave up. I find it interesting that Anami never asked the question Adhiraj did. Why did she choose to send away the girl child? Had she sent the boy away, wouldn't the question be the same? Why did you send the boy away?

Secondly, I feel Satrupa never looked back at the child she sent away, because Guruji had told her to give the child away...she couldn't hold on to it. Looking back, would mean creating uncertainty in the child's life. So she didn't even dare think about it, until Guruji advised her it was time to bring that child home. It wouldn't be the heartless abandonment Anami feels...it could be the courageous absence too.

A beautiful summation to the episode and the connection that was and could have been.

Satrupa and Anami vs Anami and Pagli Panditain

Its a wistful sigh that escapes a mother heart when she speaks to her beloved child over the phone and reminisces the years gone by, the only memory of the child who was supposed to be her's and today when she looks back, she has nothing and no say over the circumstances that have rudely snatched away her beloved daughter from her, as she is left alone standing on the by-lanes while the real mother stepped in and took away her own.

And it is an agonising sigh of longing that bonds the real blood mother to the daughter who banishes and shuns her from her life, while she cajoles her mother by karma into not getting anxious about her well being, while the real mother looks on, edgy and yet, unmoved.

However, the question that plagues Anami and most of us is, who is her real mother? The one who gave birth to her only to abandon her, or the one who lovingly took her in and cherished her like her own.

And as real and impertinent is the truth of Satrupa's life, her choice being dictated by dictum that she firmly believes in, she still falls short in reaching out and grasping the hand that edges away, far away from her, while Pagli Panditain still occupies the heart of Anami, even though she is miles apart from even reaching out to Anami.

Baldev and Vatsalya vs Baldev and Anami

No two fingers in our hand are equal and no two children we have are or will ever be equal. And Baldev Singh will be very sternly and firmly realising this sooner than later. Vatsalya was a boy who had mostly condoned and accepted Baldev the way he is, but Anami is the storm who will disrupt and askew away the life and beliefs of Baldev, before she extends her hand or support to the man. Yes, support she will, she has to, but that will come only after the initial phase of upheaval, that has been successfully crossed and endured by Baldev.

Soup, lovely post and btw, in the epi where Satrupa goes to bring Anami back, she does question her about giving away a girl and not the boy while Satrupa looks away, ashamed and guilty. And yes, sooner or later, Satrupa will have to pay for her deeds, just like how Baldev is paying now.

Beautiful, Ecri. 👏

Who is her real mother? No question, it would be the one who reared her... Satrupa will always come second, I believe. That would be her punishment.

If Vatsalya had been the child given away, and she had come back to claim him after the daughter died, wouldn't she feel the same guilt? I am not questioning or defending her. We know for sure the reason the girl was sent away, was that she was a girl...

Or perhaps we would explain it away that the boy had a better chance to survive outside. And anyway the boy was the one supposed to go.

The guilt could also be due to the fact Vatsalya would have survived, had she sent him away instead of Anami. Both her children would have lived.

What a lovely interpretation that... your analysis too moved me deeply... lovely post too!

Soup

@bold definitely the mother's guilt would have been the same, but then it wouldn't have hurt this bad, as it does now, for two reasons.

1. The norms of the society that tighten the noose around a girl's neck and keep the prejudices alive, which is why Anami hates Satrupa to the core now and it works wonderfully for the show, because somewhere we all hate Satrupa for the same too.

2. The giving away of a girl child and keeping the boy, only condones the fact that having a boy as a legal heir made Satrupa keep him too, making her position in Lal Mahal stronger and yet, making her fall short as a mother. Note that she dint want Vatsalya to do what he wanted to do because for her, having him in Lal Mahal for Royal Steel was of utmost importance. And that automatically questions our belief on her as a mother.

The makers have hit the ball out of that park with this character. 👏

You have summed up the episode beautifully. Anami may be far too mature for her age but she is only a child. The battle between the birth mother and the foster mother is sure to ensue and would be a very interesting one.

Chick this show is now one of my favvourites hopefully this show won't be jinxed unlike the last two I watched 😆

Coming to the episode

Week 1 they introduced the twins having one of the most heart warming conversations ever comparing their mothers ❤️ he gave her his Raksha dhaga without knowing she needs all the armours as possible because of the battlefield she will soon be pushed into not out of choice but because of her helplessness 😭

Today days after the mourning is over and the waaris battle is full on with satrupa standing firm on her stand Baldev is getting more and more frustrated and his lack of a spine to analyse things by removing his bitterness tinted glasses, is waiting to pounce on the jungli who he's sure is an imposter setup by his power hungry wife!!

The moment arrives at a very significant point of time, just when he's reminded of Vatsalya and seeking comfort in who he was to the boy and who the boy was to him his affections for the child and what a big groaning gap have been left behind with the loss as he's absorbing all that vatsalya the son was to him his friend his game buddy his silent strength boom comes the cacophony breaks his happy bubble wakes him to the thorn in his life anami !!

He immediately comes towards the balcony spews venom at her but the Tsunami she is, she gives him back a reply that he'll so regret and wish she never uttered it!!

What'll break him is not satrupa's word proved right it'll break his heart that Anami is no vatsalya to accept him as he is she's the mirror that'll call him out show him the good and the bad and if he takes the step to go that extra miles she'll then only acknowledge him unlike easy going vatsalya who was a soft soul here is a universe of chaos to those who can't understand her and to those who do she's the calming waters of Ganges!!

I don't know if I'm doing justice to the writers beautiful work of execution but this is the little I got inspired to write!

All the wonderful writers here 👏

Loved the way you have analysed the episode.

"Vatsalya came in a box of memories...delivered to his bereaving father"

This line was simply heartbreaking.
