"Who's there?" Cried Mehek when she saw a figure moving inside her dark room and approaching her bed. Sweat broke on her forehead. "Stop right there! I'll scream if you come near me!" Warned Mehek. She reached for the touch lamp on the nightstand. With just a tap,Dim light spread in the room and she could clearly see the figure standing beside her bed with a devilish grin on his face. "You! Wha what you doing here?" Terrified Mehek asked while pulling her blanket over her chest. "I came here to make love to you babe...you wanted this didn't you?" Shaurya said while removing his shirt. Mehek gulped with widened eyes. "You won't do that...I know you won't." She muttered. "Oh yes I will!" He unzipped his denim and pulled it down. "Please Shaurya don't! I will do whatever you say but don't rape me!" Cried Mehek while squeezing her eyes shut. Shaurya jumped on her petite frame crashing her down. "Rape is not the word sweetheart,it's called love making!" His hands went on the waist of her pj's. Mehek screamed as he pulled her pjs down along with her panties. "I had told you not to come near me but you didn't listen did you? Suffer the consequences now." Shaurya spread her legs. Mehek cried. "I'm sorry...I will not come near you anymore...please jaane doh mujhey..." she cried. "Too late babe." She felt something hard forcing its way inside her. "Nahi!!!!" Her cry echoed in the room.
Mehek jerked out of her dream! Scared to death,She was soaked wet from the sweat. Panting and huffing she checked for her pjs and panties. It was in place. "Thank God it was just a nightmare." Putting her hand on her chest,She inhaled and exhaled to normalize her breathing. "I know you won't do this but I will not come near you Shaurya...not anymore... I'll continue to love you.. no one can snatch that from me...not even you." Tears swam in her eyes. Suppressing them she looked at the clock on the nightstand. It was 1 pm! "Gees! I slept whole day!" She wondered what the rest of the group were doing. She thought about Shaurya and trembled. Getting out of bed she went to the window and peeked through the blinds. There was no sign of him and the others. Sighing in relief she grabbed her towel and left towards the washroom to have her shower.
Her stomach growled as she got dressed. She was hungry! Sonal was out with friends and she had no idea what time they'll be back. She quickly put on a simple red sundress with spaghetti straps slipping off her lovely shoulders,she looked pure and innocent. Spraying vanilla body mist on her,she came out of the cabin and headed towards the dinning. "Miss sharma,just to let you know the dinning area is closed for a function tonight so whatever you order now you have to eat in your cabin and for dinner you can come down." The waitress told Mehek when she placed her order. "Oh ok! No worries I'll eat in my cabin and about the dinner I'll see if I'm hungry I'll come otherwise I'll just stay inside." "I'll be right back with your order." The waitress smiled and left towards the kitchen. Mehek wanted to know what function was being held there so she went down to the dinning hall to find out. Opening the glass doors she sneaked inside. All the boys from Shaurya's group were decorating the hall. "Looks like a wedding reception will be held here." She thought while scanning the place. Mehek was so engrossed in admiring the decor that she didn't notice Shaurya standing in the far corner of the hall looking at her. His heart kicked when the wind carried the familiar scent of her vanilla mist to him. He recalled the way she smelled when he carried her in his arms last night. The way she shook back her hair when she laughed. The way she moved. He wanted Mehek to look up. And she did. When their eyes met, he needed her to smile. Instead she looked frightened as if she had seen a ghost . Colour drained from her face thinking about last night and her nightmare. "Oh no! What is he doing here? I should leave at once!" She swallowed. He thought to wish her for her birthday so he headed in her direction,forgetting what he has done last night. Before he could reach her,she fled from there. "Mehek! What's wrong with her?" He asked vicky. "How I'm suppose to know? I'm not her boyfriend or her roommate!" Shaurya glared at him,he left biting his lips. Shaurya followed her to the reception. "Heres your lunch,enjoy!" The waitress handed the takeaway bag to Mehek. Mehek looked at Shaurya who was striding towards her. "I'm sorry ..I'm not hungry anymore!" Saying that she ran from there. "Mehek take your lunch with you!" Waitress howled. But Mehek had disappeared behind the gardens. Shaurya wrote a note and gave it to the waitress. Take the food to her cabin and give this note to her. The waitress left towards Meheks cabin with the food and the note.
There was a tap on her door. "Must be him,What should I do now?" She asked while pacing the room. "Mehek, it's me the waitress please open up!" Hearing her voice Mehek sighed in relief. The waitress handed her the food and the note when she opened the door. "What's the note about?" Asked Mehek. "Open it and read." She started reading it. "Miss sharma,you and your friends are invited to a surprise party and dinner in the dinning hall at 7 pm,your presence will be highly appreciated. Looking forward to seeing you there. Shaurya. "Bigre Baap ka bigra aulaad hai yeh...you better stay away from him..I heard a lot of stories about him." The waitress whispered. "He's not like what you think! Mera Shaurya aysa nai hai! Tum jaao yahan se!" Mehek shouted at the waitress and she left angrily. "Hadh hai yaar! Pata nai Sab mere hii Shaurya ke piche kiyu par jaate hai!" Grimacing,she shut the door and came inside and sat down to eat. "I'm sorry Shaurya I won't come to your party even though I want to,you want me to stay away from you na? that's what you'll get,I'll stay away from you..I don't know I will succeed or not but I will try." She blabbered to herself and finished her food.
Few hours later,Sonal and other friends came back from the outing. "Meri Jaan,I heard Shaurya is throwing a surprise party tonight! I'm very excited for it! I'll go get ready then we'll go!" "No Sonal! I'm not coming ..you guys go enjoy." Mehek told her. "What? But why?" Mehek pulled her inside the cabin and told her about the encounter in Shaurya's tent and the the dream she had during the day. "He doesn't want me near him Sonal and I don't want to force myself in his life...warna he'll do that thing with me." Sonal couldn't believe what she was hearing. "You go enjoy I'll finish writing my diary and then enjoy with my baby." Mehek opened her arms for Buffy who was running towards Mehek. "Aww mera baccha I missed you!" She picked him up in her arms and went for a walk around the block. Sonal watched with her mouth open. Mehek disappeared with the little puppy. "Yeh ladki bhi na... pata nai Kya Kya soch kar sohti hai Aur sapne dekhti hai woh bhi kaand wala!" Shaking her head unbelievably she was about to close the door when her eyes fell on Shaurya who was just getting inside his cabin. "Shaurya! One minute please!" She hurried towards him. "I don't think Mehek will attend the party,she left with Buffy just now." Shaurya frowned. "Why not? I have thrown This party just for her! I want to make this birthday special for her. She has to be there." Said Shaurya while raking his hair in frustration. "She's scared of you Shaurya." Shaurya raised his brow. "Sorry?" Sonal told him how Mehek felt when he behaved like that in his tent and about the dream which she saw. "Arey yaar i was just joking..main mazaak kar raha tha...it is true I want her to stay away from me and I have valid reasons for it but I won't do such thing with her..I'll never force myself on her." He said. "Ok if you say so...I'll try to convince her then." Assuring him,she left towards her cabin.
It was almost dark,Mehek was coming back from her walk when little Buffy pulled on the hem of her dress and dragged her towards his masters cabin. "Buffy! Where are you taking me? Stop na!" But the smart little puppy continued dragging her until they were inside Shaurya's cabin. Leaving her there,he ran outside."Buffy! This is not my cabin!" She shouted. Heartbeat thudding, she tiptoed across the cavernous living room into the dining room. The draperies were closed, shutting out the light. She fumbled for the wall switch, flipped it,light spread in the cabin. Meheks mouth opened wide in awe. "What a luxurious cabin! As if some king lives here." She was lost in the decor when she heard a noise. "Oh gosh I'm in Shaurya's cabin! Run Mehek! Run for your life!" She turned and rushed towards the door when a huge figure emerged in front of her and locked the door. He then turned to face her. "Aap?" She swallowed. "It's my cabin obviously it will be me no?." "I'm sorry Buffy dragged me here...I should go." She reached for the door but Shaurya blocked her way. "Not so fast miss sharma! I need to talk to you." Her heart pounded when he stood an inch away from her. She couldn't look in his eyes instead she looked at her toes. "What's in your hand?" He asked in his deep voice. "My diary,I write diary you know." He took her diary and put it away. "Please let me go, she pleaded. Mehek knew she needed to get out of there. Something unexpected was happening and she wasn't prepared. ""You have been acting weird all day... he said. "Whats the matter? "Oh... she tried to fix her fringe. "Nothing... she forced a smiled. "You are scared of me aren't you? I thought you loved me! Have you changed your mind?" He grabbed her arm and pulled her on him. "Answer me Mehek! Your love confession was a joke right?" She twisted in his arms to break free. "Tell me otherwise I'll not let you go." His hold tightened on her "It wasn't a joke Shaurya! Nothing was a joke! ..i still love you ...I always will...but what you were trying to do in your tent last night..." Her eyes welled up. "Hey..look at me." He tilted her chin up and both stared in each other's eyes. "I was just pulling your leg alright? ..main mazaak kar raha tha yaar ...I will never do something like that to you ok? Sonal told me about your dream..miss sharma,I didn't know you get weird dreams like that...wayse Kya Kya kiya main ne sapne mein?" He chuckled when Mehek glared angrily at him. "Besharam!" She said. He laughed and let go of her arm but Mehek didn't move. She was loosing herself in his laughter. His presence was affecting her so much. She felt paralysed. Goosebumps and butterflies followed. She wanted to go from the room but her legs failed her. "Abh Kya huwa? Why are you suddenly on silent mode? Rashan paani lekar charo mujhpar?" He wrapped one arm around her waist and pulled her closer to him. Her whole body was now flush against his. "Dubara aysa mazaak matt karna...main dargayee thi.." She rested her both palms on his rock hard chest. She couldn't believe he was burying her in his chest. He was the one running from her and now?. She was in dilemma. Was he interested in her? Finally? He planted a kiss on her both cheeks. It took her by surprise. "Happy birthday peaches!" She smiled and blushed. "Oh He's sweet! How wrong I was about him." She said in her heart. "I assume you don't have to dress for the party,you look amazing in this." He told her as he scanned her from top to bottom. Her blushed deepened as she pulled the falling straps back up on her shoulder. He smirked. "Shall we go then? The party is about to begin." She nodded. "Remind me later to pick up my diary from here." "I sure will!" He took her hand and brought her out of the cabin. "Who's party is it anyway?" She asked on the way to the dinning hall. "That's a surprise!" They were greeted at the door and escorted inside. As soon as they stepped inside everyone screamed,Happy Birthday!" Mehek covered her mouth in awe. "So miss sharma! hows the surprise?" He asked as he led her towards the cake. "So this was all your plan? It's beautiful! Thank you so much! I'll never forget this Shaurya."She hugged him. Shaurya wanted to wrap his arms around her tightly and hug her to his chest but he couldn't. "I will keep my distance after this celebration, I'm still a danger to you Mehek." He thought. The girls and boys surrounded them,wishing Mehek for her birthday. Mehek was really very happy and so was Shaurya. He wanted to make her birthday memorable. In some weeks,Mehek had changed him a lot,his heart had been telling him a lot of things lately but he shunned it,it was his mind he was listening to. All he knew,he didn't want to hurt Mehek no matter what.
"Close your eyes meri Jaan, Make a wish and then blow the candle!" Sonal said excitedly. Mehek glanced up at shaurya,her eyes shone with immense love for him before she closed them. And some small part of the cold chill in his heart melted. "Please Bhagwan ji,Shaurya ko khush rakhna,usey uska pyaar Miley,mere hisse ka bhi pyaar Aur khushiyan Shaurya ko dena." After saying a silent prayer in her heart,she opened her eyes. Blinking away the tears she blew the candle and cut the cake. Everybody sang a happy birthday song for her. Shaurya kept stealing glances of Mehek with folded arms when she said,"Shaurya,won't you feed me?" He smiled. "Of course!" He moved beside her,took a piece and put it in her mouth. Everyone hooted. Mehek blushed and ate the cake. When no one was looking,Shaurya licked his finger which had the cake from Meheks lips. "Say few words Mehek!" Sonal insisted. "I don't know what to say." She felt really nervous around the crowd that was crawling in. "Say something for your lover boy!" Jenna whispered in her ears. Embarrassed,she looked at Shaurya who was also looking at her. She went and stood in front of him. Everyone raised their brows in anticipation. She fed him a piece of cake and Standing on her toes,she kissed his cheeks. "I love you Shaurya! More than anything!" His stomach was in knots. Everyone's eyes widened in utter shock. "Mehek Everyone's listening. Let's go dance!" He said softly. Avoiding glares,he dragged her to the dance floor. "Shaurya,I was only telling the truth...I love you na...toh kah diya!" "Then go stand on the roof and scream it to the whole world!" He was a bit loud hence it brought tears to her eyes. She pouted with a frown. "I will not dance!" He let out a deep breath and cupped her sullen face. "I'm sorry...please don't cry...I don't wanna see tears in your eyes today ok?" Mehek buried herself in his bosom and hugged him tight. Hundred of thoughts circled in his brain. Things he wanted to tell her, but as he stood there, with heart racing and hands sweating, he had absolutely no idea what he would say. "Music please!" He called to the DJ. Lights were dimmed,boys and girls paired up and headed to the dance floor. Song spread in the hall...

Meheks eyes softened with tears when she lifted her head and looked at him from very close and the tiny smile she gave him seemed to set a hook in his heart and pull. Her hands came around his neck and he held her to him. They were dancing as the song continued. A slow shuffle dance, that held them in the same place as they moved. He felt her lips find his cheek and in the dim light she kissed him as they danced. She felt herself melting into him where ever their bodies touched. Why can't Shaurya see this? See the energy, the chemistry, the love that exist between us?. "I love you Shaurya... she breathed into his neck; but he couldn't say it back. "You know Shaurya,Sometimes I like you so much I can't stand it. It fills up inside me, all the way to the brim, and I feel like I could overflow. I like you so much I don't know what to do with it. My heart beats so fast when I know I'm going to see you again. And then, when you look at me the way you do, I feel like the luckiest girl in the world." With a smile so wide she kissed his cheeks again and again. "Your heart is about to be broken peaches." He said in his heart.
Mehek was enjoying the dance when a hand came around Shaurya's arm. "Hello babe!" Shaurya stopped dancing when he saw his girlfriend standing there pulling on his arm! He moved away from Mehek and turned to her. "Tanya! What the hell!" Without saying anything she embraced him. "I was missing you so I thought to surprise you." Shaurya's eyes moved to Mehek who was standing there dumbstruck! Her face drooped with dismay and disappointment. She was at the verge of crying when Sonal came for her rescue. "Let's go Mehek...we have to leave." She said while glaring angrily at Shaurya. Mehek was still looking painfully at Shaurya as Sonal dragged her away from him. Tears were rolling down her cheeks. She wanted to stomp her foot, throw a tantrum, throw a punch. Shaurya' was giving her I'm sorry kind of look. A waiter passed by with drinks and shots. She grabbed one and gulped it down! "Mehek,that's liquor you are drinking!" Sonal took the glass from her hand but she grabbed another one. Shaurya took a step towards her when Tanya pulled him away to the boys table. Shaurya knew Mehek was hurt and that hurt him really bad. He felt a pang in his heart. He didn't know Tanya will show up suddenly and ruin her birthday. But she just did and he couldn't do anything. "Mehek that's enough! Chalo yaha se!" Sonal dragged her out of the dinning hall. "I warned you about him didn't I? but you didn't listen! You still have time ..sambhaljao!" "I still love him Sonal..." Sonal shook her. "Hosh mein aao Mehek! He has a girlfriend stupid!" Mehek pushed her away. "So what? Main phir bhi unko chahungi.." Mehek blabbered in her drunken state. "Paagal hogayee hai tu!" Scolding her,Sonal helped her to their cabin.
Later In Shaurya's cabin,He unleashes all the anger inside him and throws all the glasses and bottles against the back wall, breaking them in rage."Get your stuffs and leave!" He ordered Tanya. "What's wrong with you Shaurya? We are in a relationship! Have you forgotten?" Shaurya glared at her angrily. "We were in a relationship Tanya but not anymore! I'm breaking up with you!" His voice was harsh. He called vicky and told him to drop her off to the nearest town. "I don't believe this! In few weeks time someone can change this much!" I hate you shaurya khanna!" She stormed out of there cursing him under her tongue. Shaurya sighed in relief. Standing in the steps of their cabin,Mehek and Sonal saw and heard everything. They were going to get Meheks diary but when they heard Shaurya fuming at Tanya,they stopped in their tracks. "What are you two looking at? Go sleep!" Shaurya scolded them both. "Chal Mehek ..we can't ask for the diary he's pissed off." Drunken Mehek just followed behind her. "I see two Shaurya's! Does he have a twin brother?" She blabbered as Sonal pulled her inside.
Sonal being the nicest friend,helped Mehek to freshen up and change her into her pj's. Then She tucked her in nicely and dimmed the light. "You sleep and I'm going to Jenna's cabin to watch a movie...tomorrow morning hum shaurya khanna ke naak mein dam karenge ok?" "I will do the honours." Chuckled Mehek. " I'm happy he broke up with that long face tamanna!" "It's not tamanna! It's Tanya!" Sonal corrected her. "Tamanna ho ya Tanya! Mere se Kya? Mujhey toh sirf mere cuddly bear se matlab hai?" Sonal raised her brows. "Who's cuddly bear?" Before Mehek could answer,her eyelids dropped close and she slept. "Mehek sharma you are one crazy girl!" Shaking her head unbelievably,she stepped out in the dark and headed towards Jenna's cabin. Shaurya who was pacing the porch,saw her leaving. He was worried about Mehek and wanted to see her somehow after what had happened today. Locking his cabin up,he left towards Meheks cabin. Sonal had left the door unlocked. "Bingo! He said and stepped inside. The cabin was dark,dim light was coming from Meheks bedroom. Gently closing the door,he walked towards her room. Mehek was sleeping peacefully while hugging a teddy bear. A smile crept on his lips and he sat down on her bed. He spent the next hours watching her sleep, taking in every detail of her face, of her body. The way the soft glow of the bedside lamp cast shadows on her cheeks. The way her chest rose and fell with each breath. "My heart aches to love you Mehek...but You deserve better,so much better." He said softly. Pushing her hairs away from her face he kissed her forehead. Tracing her cheeks with his fingers he brushed it with his lips. Mehek flung her eyes open when she felt something warm pressing on her cheek. Shaurya thought she would scream at him but she never did. Instead,she smiled. "Cuddly bear,I knew you would come to check on me." Her voice was soft. "Aren't you gonna shout at me for ruining the party?" He asked. "Not at you but at your GF.! Thank God you sent her away warna main toh uney subha panjiri khilaane waali thi! She showed him her tiny fist. Shaurya suppressed his laughter. "She's not my GF anymore." He rubbed her cheek with the back of his finger. "That tickles!" She giggled and continued. "Matlab you are single and available! For me?" He looked at her,she was flashing her teeth at him. He thought she was the cutest thing he has ever seen. "Nahi...I have many more." "Many more? How can you love so many?" She pulled a face. "You know,I'll still love you even though you have so many gf's." "I don't love them Mehek...now you sleep I'll take my leave." He stood up to go but Mehek grabbed his hand. "Can you hug me before you go?" Without a word he sat down beside her and opened his arms. Her face lit up. With a smile so beautiful she threw herself in his arms! His powerful arms came around her back and hugged her to his chest. "My cuddly bear!" She snuggled more in him. He smelt of the forest as if it had seeped deep into his skin, and she found herself inhaling silently, as if he was something delicious. Time slowed, and stilled. It was just the two of them,she murmured so many things to him. Shaurya didn't say much. He didn't answer back, or add a dry comment, or scoff. He nodded occasionally, his head pressed against her, and murmured, or let out a small sound that could have been satisfaction at another good memory he will cherish forever. Mehek caught his hand and placed it on her thudding chest. Her heart pumped under his huge hand. He swallowed as he was getting aroused. "My heart no longer felt as if it belonged to me Shaurya. It now felt as it had been stolen, torn from my chest by someone who wanted no part of it." Tears swam in her eyes. Shaurya had gone numb,her words had pinched his heart. She removed his hand from her chest and kissed his palm and then his cheeks."I want you to remember how your heart reacts every time I kiss you.I want you to remember my hands, and how they can't stop touching you. She roamed her hand on his face,long neck,throat and her hands found its way inside his half open shirt. "Stop it! You are not in your senses Mehek! You are drunk please sohjao!" He broke the hug and lowered her on the bed. "But don't the people tell truth when they are drunk? I'm telling you the truth you know? Cuddly bear,one day you should also get drunk so that I can know what's hidden in your heart." She told him. Shaurya sank on the bed unsteadily. The emotion swept through her, filling her soul with heat,suddenly she was crying. "I love you,shaurya!" She sat up and hugged him fiercely. It was so painfully sweet for him. "Can't you just lie once that you love me? Bolo na?" She sobbed on his chest. He drew back and stared down at her. There was an intensity in his eyes that stole her breath, made her heart beat wildly. "I can't lie to you peaches." "Then tell me the truth." She blinked her tears away. "I can't do that either!" He gave her a trembling smile. In that instant she understood so much about him, about the way he was. He didn't believe in himself, didn't think he was good, but he was. She believed in him enough for both of them. And she loved him like no one had ever loved him before. "It's very late you need to sleep now. I'll send you lemon water in the morning for your hangover...now good night!" Mehek smiled. "Good night pooh bear!" "Mehek,stop calling me those names! It annoys me!" She reached for his nose and pulled it. "I love to annoy you my honey bear!" He frowned angrily and Mehek giggled. He silenced her by pressing his finger on her lips. "Shut up and sleep!" She pouted with a frown. Moving his hand she sat up. "What's the problem now?" He asked getting irritated. Before he could know,she was sleeping on his lap. "No one can love you the way I love you Shaurya..." His irritation vanished at once. She asked him to run his fingers in her hair and he did. Finally she dozed off.
when the first light of the day finally showed through the gap in the draperies, he quietly slid her head on the pillow. Turning off the bedside lamp, he left the room, not daring to look back at the sleeping beauty.
Time flew like the sand in an hourglass. One month had gone just like that.
