Aamir Khan developed good relations with director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra during the shooting of 'Rang De Basanti'. Aamir is known to be quite a considerate friend and indeed he showed his generous side recently.
It so happened that the First AD (Assistant Director) of Mehra's forthcoming film 'Dilli 6' starring Abhishek Bachcna and Sonam Kapoor failed to fly to the U.S. during the shooting stint currently underway in Jaipur. Mehra was in a fix without his first AD and sought close friend Aamir's help.
Aamir was keen to fly down to Jaipur to assist Mehra, he could not take any time out as he got caught up in the shooting of Ghajini , and his absence would upset the entire schedule of the film. So he did what could be called the second best option- he sent his wife Kiran Rao (who had previously worked as an assistant to Ashutosh Gowariker) to Mehra's help.
Confirming this, Mehra says, "Aamir wanted to help himself, but then suggested that his wife Kiran Rao would come."
Talking about Kiran as the AD, Mehra says, "She was a great help on the sets. She is a thorough professional and very sincere at work."
