I think the whole Hawaayein sequence from the train where Sejal catches Herry staring at her and then she makes him stare 🤣 then of course the song starts and it's just so dreamy! After that the whole walk to the cafe, the kiss on the forehead...it was just so romantic. Definitely my favourite sequence of the movie. That vintage SRK at his best!
You know what I loved about him? That this was a romantic role but he didn't do the larger than life acting he's done previously. It was a very restrained performance. The way he looked at Anushka, the subtle changes in expression...! Like give me this over shits like HNY or Dilwale anyday!
Anushka as Sejal will probably go down as my fav performance of hers after Shruti of BBB because though I've liked her in other films, I've not found her as natural as I did in JHMS. I'm a gujju myself so when I saw the trailer I was like 'what's with this stupid accent' but when I saw the film, it all just clicked.
I pretty much loved the entire first half, it whizzed past. Sejal's funny antics where she would start dancing in the club so funnily 🤣 The moment where she started crying after being molested because she got reminded of what Rupen would think of her and that she was never good enough. Harry staring at her when they were hiding on the boat. The indemnity bonds 😆
Second half was obviously weaker but I loved the scene after Yaadon mein...That was hot!!! The scene after Raula where Harry's friend is telling Sejal to stay back. I loved the direction there because as Sejal started talking about how she's got a life back home etc, Harry started moving away from her. Nicely done! Loved SRK's expressions there and of course the argument after. The climax wasn't anything dramatic, it was simple with Harry's explaining to Sejal what she was ACTUALLY looking for all this time. She felt incomplete because she was always made to feel that she couldn't complete any task...she wanted to complete something so she became stubborn about finding the ring but instead she found an incomplete man in Harry. By filling his void, she got what she was always seeking.
^That's not be dreaming anything up. I felt this throughout the film because of Sejal's human insecurities which MANY girls have in today's times.
