"On an emotional level, the phrase seems to touch and awaken the heart by appealing to the sense of connection or even communion implied between the seeker and what is being sought. It makes it seem inevitable that the two shall meet on an emotional level, thus, awakening all sorts of reactions from pleasure and joy to mild anxiety and fear."

DO: Share your thoughts on this quote and how it was applied in the movie.

DO NOT: I am seeking a hot breakfast. No not that we get at 80 dollar motels. I am seeking puris and tarkaris with chai. That means puris are seeking me as well and getting ready to get gulped. Please no such logic.

My take. I dont remember exact discussion but this was discussed at the end, He said something like you were seeking emptiness in me. Perhaps she was not happy and had some thing missing and hence she got attracted to some one who himself was missing a lot - not being married at 50.

Anyway I cant tell since I dont remember the discussion. But this was addressed in brilliant piece of acting by Shahrukh.

I reviewed it. gave it 3/5 which is very good by my rating standards. However I am now feeling I could have given it 3.25.

Problem was second half. It leaves the lasting impression. It was long ...dragged and felt it was not ending.

But then again first half and performance of SRK and Anushka was worth it.

In short I definitely liked it. But wished it could have been a little better. Just to do justice to actors and their performances. Story let them down.

Sejal was seeking Harry's acceptance as she was
Not changing her identity to some one else
Harry was seeking his other half who can complete him

What you seek is seeking you - Rumi

What you eat is eating you - Hippo

Meaning: what you eat is eating you in the sense that when you eat a lot then you get obese...when u get obese u get circular abdomen...when u have flabby waist..u develop glucose intolerance..when u have that u can get cardiovascular or metabolic disorders..which harm you and its eating you from inside.

Word of wisdom from Hippo in line with Rumi

Harry was seeking to fill the void in his life. He was far away from home and lonely. He pursued meaningless relationships to fill the void but was afraid of what it would mean to let someone in.
Sejal was seeking acceptance to be herself. She was conforming to a societal image of what a woman should be but found herself unhappy and unfulfilled in her relationships.

Sejal turned out to be the person who fills the void in Harry's life. She wasn't just offering physical intimacy. She brought down his walls and showed him what it meant to spend quality time with someone. In turn, Harry turned out to be the acceptance Sejal was looking for. She could be flirtatious, adventurous, and rebellious without being judged. He brought down her walls and showed her that physical intimacy wasn't always meaningless.

The ring was a metaphor for human pursuits that on the surface is one thing, but is more complex when you delve deeper.

Nice

However I was trying to see the story from Rumi's quote point of view. what you seek is seeking you..what you are interested in has some connection with you and hence is seeking you as well.
