Part 21:

Sharma Niwas:

It had been an hour that Shaurya and Mehak had come to the Sharma Niwas. Two days back when Mehak informed her family members of Shaurya visiting them, she didn't tell them the reason for it. Shaurya had insisted that he would talk about the proposal himself. Initially, Kaanta chachi was surprised but she thought maybe he wanted to inquire about Mohit's new job since she knew that it was Shaurya who had recommended him for it.

Shaurya was tapping his fingers nervously on the armrest of the couch. After 15 minutes of the usual greetings and handshakes, the Sharmas didn't know what to say. To start a conversation, Jeevan chachu asked Shaurya about his work and how Mehak was doing at his restaurant. Jeevan chachu signaled Kaanta chachi to ask him the reason for meeting them. She signaled him back saying that she would ask him in sometime.

Mehak was getting restless now. She had been trying to draw his attention towards him. When he finally looked at her, she gestured him to speak. He nodded and coughed a little in nervousness.

He looked at chachi and spoke: I wanted to say something to you.

The silence had got on everyone's nerves. They were relieved that he finally decided to speak something. They waited impatiently to know what he wanted to say but there was a deafening silence again.

Shaurya gulped the glass of water that was kept on the table in front of him. They were frustrated now. This guy was testing their patience. Not being able to take it anymore, PD walked to Shaurya and said to him sternly: Handsome, ab agar tumne humme nahi bataya ki tum yahan kyun aaye ho, toh tumhe meri laathi se baat karni padegi!!

Shaurya: IWANTTOMARRYMEHAK!!

All: What!!!

Shaurya spoke so fast that none could understand what he said. All gave each other confused looks. Nehal who was standing next to Mohit tugged on his shirt asking: Did you understand what he said? Mohit shook his head no.

PD: Beta, talk in a language that is understood by us humans because we aren't aliens my child!!!

Shaurya took a deep breath and spoke again: IWANTTOMARYYMEHAK!!

Nehal and Mohit chuckled. Nehal: Is this the same confident Shaurya Khanna? I think this is someone else in his disguise!!

Nehal hi-fived Mohit saying so while Mehak looked at them angrily. Mehak walked towards Shaurya and shot daggers at him.

Shaurya took a deep breath and held PD's hand: PD, I want to marry you...No no, I meant I want to marry your Mehak. Kya main appki ladoo ko apne zindagi bhar ki mithai bana sakta hoon?

All gasped in shock except Nehal and Sonal. Nehal whispered to Sonal: See, didn't I tell you that there was something going on between these two? My my..we always thought that Mehak di was shy and reserved but look at her...She has a boyfriend and I don't..Haaye re kismet!!But di ki choice toh killer hai by god!! Sonal laughed hearing her comment.

Mehak looked at him in awe. She waited for her family's reaction to his proposal. After few minutes of silence, PD put his hand on Shaurya's cheek and said: Main na kehti thi Kaanta that one day a prince charming will come for my ladoo...Look, he has finally come to take our ladoo with him. Bacche, we all very happy with this proposal. Kyun Kaanta?

Pd looked at Kaanta for her approval who in turn looked at Mehak to seek her answer but Mehak was busy admiring Shaurya at that time. Finally, Kaanta walked to Mehak and asked her: Do you like him and want to marry him?

Mehak didn't know what to say. Of course, she wanted to but how could she say this directly to her chachi. Sensing that Mehak wasn't ready to say anything, PD said: Dekh le ladoo, if you dnt say anything now I am willing to marry my handsome coz he proposed me first.

Mehak : No No...I want to..

Kaanta chachi looked at her surprised. Everyone laughed and hugged each other. Kaanta chachi hugged her and kissed her forehead saying: I am very happy for you Mehak.

Shaurya witnessed the smiling faces of the Sharmas but there was something tht he wasn't happy about.

Mehak looked at him questionably but he turned towards chachi and said: There is something that I would like to confess.

Mehak knew what he wanted to confess. She went to him and held his hand: Shaurya not needed. We had already discussed all this..Not again please. Just keep quiet.

He held her hand and gave it a light squeeze assuring her that he wouldn't budge now from telling her family members the entire truth.

Holding her hand, he walked to Kaanta chachi and said: Chachi, I am very happy that you considered me worthy enough to marry your daughter. But before you give your approval, there is something that I would like to confess. I couldn't forgive Mehak when she had slapped me in front of the media during the ISC competition. It was a big blow to my ego and thts when I had decided that I would teach her a lesson for the insult. After Ajay and Mehak's sangeet, I came to your house asking your permission to allow her to work in my restaurant. At that time, you thought that I was so kind to give her this opportunity but it was all an act. When she started working for me , I made her believe that I had changed and was in love with her and the innocent one that she is , never understood my real intentions and fell for my trap. My plan was to break her heart and see her in pain which was successful at the end. However, I wasn't at peace after that so I kept on torturing her with my insults and taunts in front of my staff but Mehak never reacted to them. She had been a thorough professional and not once did she give me a chance to complain. I guess these are all the values that you had instilled in her since childhood.

Mehak looked at the change in the expressions of her family members. She saw the way her Dadaji and Ravi chachu glared at Shaurya. Ravi chachu had a look that he would punch Shaurya any minute. Mehak held his arm tightly asking him to stop talking.

Shaurya smiled at her, removed her hand from his arm and bend down on his knees folding his hands in front of Kaanta chachi.

Shaurya: I know I did wrong. For a long time, I didn't realize the importance of Mehak in my life. Someone had rightly said - you don't know what you've got till it's gone and that came true for me. I realized her worth when she left me to accept her fate to marry Ajay. I was confused with what I wanted, on one hand I wanted to see her in pain and on the other hand, I wanted to wipe her tears to ease her pain. Business karte karte dil mein emotions hi nahi reh gaye the isiliye shayad pata hi nahi chala that what I feel for her is love and not some sympathy. But it was too late.

I had come to meet her on her wedding day to convince her to not marry Ajay but she is your daughter chachi. Kaise apni family ke honour ke khilaaf jaati? She refused and I had no choice but to accept her decision. But God was kind to me. Maybe Mehak's kindness rubbed onto me too and she didn't get married to that scumbag!!

Chachi raised her brow when he cursed Ajay. Shaurya smiled at her and said: I know, I too fall in his category so I have no right to call him that...I need Mehak in my life coz without her I feel lonely and incomplete. Everyone makes mistakes and I know I have done many; countless to be honest but the important part of a mistake is realizing that you've hurt someone. Asking forgiveness is difficult and for someone like me utterly impossible but I am ready to take any punishment from you. Mehak had asked me to not talk about this but I didn't want to start our relationship on the basis of a lie that was told by me. She fears that after learning the truth, you wouldn't accept me for your daughter.

Mehak was crying now. She sat next to him cupping his face: Shaurya, bas...

Shaurya held her hand and looked at chachi: I love her and her happiness means the world to me. I promise you chachi that I will love and respect her dignity and honor. Will you please trust me once? Sirf ek baar!!

He had his head bowed down afraid to look up in her eyes. It was heartbreaking for Mehak to see him like that.

Ravi chachu came and stood next to Kaanta chachi: Didn't I tell you Bhabhi that these rich spoilt brats are not worth of our trust and love. Are inke liye sirf paisa hi maine rakhta hai..I kept on telling all of you that I don't trust this guy but kisine meri nahi suni. How could he forget everything so easily and be normal with us? I was right he never changed. Arre hamari bacchi ke saath galat kiya hai isne. We cannot trust him. Throw him out the house. This guy doesn't deserve any chance.

With that, he held his arm angrily. Ravi chachu held his collar and shouted: How dare you!! You are a snake!!

He dragged him towards the door while Mehak kept on requesting chachu to stop.

Mehak crying: Chachu please, leave him...Chachu listen to me once...

PD walked towards the door and held chachu's hand: Oye Ravi , bas kar..bahut ho gaya. Stop all this drama!!

Ravi chachu: PD, please don't listen to this guy..He is a fraud..Are hamari bacchi ki life barbaad ho jaati...

PD interrupted him : Lekin huyi toh nahi na...Ajay se shaadi karke toh pucca barbaad ho jaati...Why are you all behaving so harsh with him?

Dadaji: Par chayji, yeh ladka jhootha hai...He doesn't deserv..

PD shouted: Oye chup kar, you all can see his mistakes but didn't see that he confessed his mistakes in front of everyone. If he wanted he would have kept quiet. Mehak knew that you all would react this way, maybe that is why she didn't want him to say the truth. Why can't we all appreciate his honesty here? Shaurya loves Mehak and will always keep her happy. I can see it in his eyes then why can't you all? Arre have you guys become so blind that you cant see the guilt in his eyes?

She held Shaurya's had and walked inside.

PD: Bacche, aur kisiko vishwaas ho ya na ho but I trust you. I know you will always keep my ladoo happy. As for the approval, I am the eldest in the family so mera decision hi sab ka decision hoga and I give my consent for this marriage..Bas final!!

Saying so, she kept Mehak's hand in Shaurya's hand and hugged them. Shaurya looked at chachi for her reaction. She simply smiled and walked to him: I trust you too bte. Infact, we all do..PD is right, we cannot deny that you broke our daughter's trust but we can also see your honesty. Hame yeh rishta manzoor hai!!

Kaanta chachi kissed Mehak's forehead and said: I like your choice Mehak.

It was a happy moment for both - Shaurya as well as the Sharmas. Finally, the Sharmas had agreed for their wedding.

P.S. I know i had said tht this would be the last chapter but its not..i will be writing te last chapter later when i get time...Please do let me know your thoughts regarding teh chapter coz honsetly, i wasnt happy with what i had written here...so if there is anything that you dont like about this chapter, i apologize sincerely...Criticism is always welcomed!!!!

I am going to cry now as this much sweetness from Shaurya will ring danger alarm in the show and here its a happily ever after!

He confessed,for a moment felt like it was one of earlier episodes of Zkm where Shaurya comes to meet Mehsk and remain Silent till she comes 😆

That was such a looong confession! 😛
