Sidharth Malhotra: Why would I care about Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt's careers?
Sidharth Malhotra's last outing Baar Baar Dekho failed to win hearts of the fans and critics. The film also starring Katrina Kaif tanked at the box office, which resulted in Sidharth thinking about looking at his career in a totally new way.
Talking about it, he stated to a leading tabloid, "Flops are like falling off from a bicycle."
He further stated, "After Baar Baar Dekho, I don't fear failing. At this point in my career, I am in such a space where I don't look at the work of any co-star with a competitive spirit. I have my career to build and wish to invest my energy into that."
When asked about the constant comparison being made with his contemporaries Alia Bhatt andVarun Dhawan, Sidharth said, "Competition, in this industry, has a different connotation. Here, there will always be people who have worked before you. You have to make peace with the fact that there will even be better performers coming in after you. In order to maintain your sanity, you can only compete with your last performance. That's all that matters. Why would I care about Varun and Alia's careers? I have too much on my plate to worry about anyway."
Talking about his professional life, Sidharth is gearing up for the release of A Gentleman directed by Raj & DK. He is paired opposite Jacqueline Fernandez and is slated to release on August 25, 2017.
He was also shooting for Neeraj Pandey's Aiyaary in London. The film also stars Manoj Bajpayee and will hit the screens next year during Republic Day weekend.
