Hi as usual khidkitod :-) ...love the way you analyze emotions n characters . I agree with you about Gauri n Om ... the old Om's inspirations were a little different ...but with Shivika reunion I guess we will get to see Rikara story build up and they are laying the foundation in their own crazy way( only they can understand what kind of arcs in store)...
I only wish that they keep Rudy the cute little brother/ playboy for a little longer and let his story shape up well instead of the patch work marriage track ( if the spoilers are to be believed) they are coming up with.
Let's just wish Shivika will be restored to former glory ...with out any arcs and curveballs henceforth
Awesome post as always.
The writing always leaves me confused, but your posts provide some interesting insight. I might be in the minority, but I didn't like the dinner date. I know exactly what the writers were going for, but I felt like the bedroom scene did a better job.
I feel like the writers and the viewers (me included) give too much credit to Shivaay for her behavior and predicament. She wouldn't have allowed his behavior or apologize to avoid a fight if she didn't want to. Personally, I never felt like she molded herself to be the perfect anything. She was always too kind and sacrificing by nature based on her behavior prior to meeting him, which irritated me throughout the show lol. She even let Sahil's Bua back into her life and house without hesitation. This probably stems from her insecurities and her fear of abandonment that obviously runs deep. She is afraid to lose everything at any moment so she bends and caves in any situation to minimize any damage it might cause her. She is an escapist by heart and willingly looks the other way to make unpleasant situations go away. He certainly does take her for granted and it works to his benefit if they are one-unit same in thought and action. He rarely keeps his promises and flips constantly so its understandable why she has trust issues. He reacts badly in anger especially when its related to her because she is always supposed to be different from everyone else. That is who he was interested in the first place not the shell of herself that she willingly became.
This is completely random, but it bothers me when the characters trivialize their actions. Again, I might be in the minority, but I don't think he redeemed himself for the forced marriage. I feel the same way about her stunt to get thrown out. Everyone painting this as a grand sacrifice is unfair considering what happened to him as a result. Yes, its ridiculously unfair to judge someone over one incident, but it's also unfair to set someone up knowing exactly what buttons to push to elicit a particular reaction then be upset that it worked. Anika forgives too easily while Shivaay holds grudges because they are different people. She forgave him because she wanted while he chooses not to forgive, but it wouldn't hurt if they took a page from each other's book. I prefer them meeting half-way instead one person shouldering all the blame when both of them are responsible for this mess. If their actions (under blackmail or in hurt) are whitewashed for the sake of a reunion and TRPs that will be shame. If the characters don't evolve and learn then what's the point of all this drama. Sigh, I might be expecting too much again 😆
