A person's basic nature doesn't change. Whatever changes interim, the core doesn't change, unless something very momentous happens.
Annika was never the conniving calculating money minded person, See her sitting and scratching her head over small expenses, missing zeroes between hundreds and thousands, how will she calculate the crores her husband is worth? She won't have a clue. She isn't that person, and Shivaay isn't recalling all the positives, being stuck at the one big Scarlet A she wore for that day.
But see, during the date, he predicted exactly what she would say and do, and why she did things. He KNOWS her, subconsciously he's remembering all the things about her that he liked, and even disliked.

Shivaay, is someone who forgives loved ones' mistakes easily. OmRu pointed out that they made mistakes too, and he never kicked them out, then why Annika? WHy is it that Annika can't make a single mistake? Why has she to be the ideal everything to him, the perfect everything, and always stays in that box. Or is it a small pedestal a little too high for her?
This is not about what she did to the family at all. Those were the circumstances that occurred facilitating his heartbreak.
That day, he had built hopes , he thought she was in love with him, and he wanted to tell her he was too. He had opened a vulnerability to her, and she stabbed him. He's angry with her , so angry and hurt, and kicked her out of his life so cruelly.
How could he right? He never did that to OmRu , or his mother, why to Annika? That he claimed to love?
Because he put her MUCH closer to his heart than his family. He expects a little too much of her, because she made herself into what he wanted throughout their short marriage. Extremely understanding, very trusting, very loyal, knows what he wants before he even says it, supports his siblings, forgives easily, says sorry even if she didn't do anything. She had moulded herself into his perfect companion that he couldn't take it when she broke character.
Yes, Annika is MUCH closer to Shivaay's heart than even his family. Which is why he carries his hurt like a wounded predator. Om is right, only Annika can fix what she broke.
OmRu try hard to get through to Shivaay's brain but it doesn't break through the shell. Rudra realizes that Shivaay needs the truth, no games will work. So he thinks up a plan to lead Shivaay up to the truth by himself.

Omkara changed when his mother tried to kill herself over Tej's indiscretions. He became hard and seething with animosity. But after Pari came and left, his soft sentimental side has woken up, and found that he was starving the the joy he derived from his art. (Perspiration vs INspiration..😆) His nature is not one that is drowning in anger and resentment, but a peaceful one who sees good in people. The problem his mother is in worries me, hope it doesn't affect him anymore.
Gauri , poor thing is an innocent selfless soul. She saw Omkara's pain with his lack of inspiration, and is trying to help him. Mixing words perspiration with inspiration, was really cute, but she didn't even understand why they were laughing. And then, her dressing up and posing looked really enticing and all, but it is so not Om to draw inspiration from this. (I will see scene play out first before deciding)

Evidently, SSO feels that HIS WIFE should be the best and only the best should be his wife. What to say, what not to say, what and when to do something correctly is paramount, and he can't see past that one mistake. He blames her for everything. Not bothering to even investigate first.
Shivaay finds a sullen Annika failing at managing finances and money. She is really bad at math, and knows she can't even count to the nearest crore. How can she be a gold digger? Why would she care about who got a share of the Oberoi wealth? She finds running one house overwhelming. This woman wanted to split the house?
Pinky walking in and behaving suspicious was really fun to watch. She arrogantly announced that she knows EVERYTHING that goes on the house. So he casually asks about Annika, because something is bugging him about her now. Watching Pinky swallow and look like a culprit was mildly satisfying...
Why is the question you should have asked all along Shivaay. It's about time...
