Additions (A Post inspired by Mannu's comment)

In one of her posts, Mannu commented that Eijaz stalks the IF forums and sometimes based on that gets a few things done in the show.

I believe he also interacts (at least reads) almost all the comments made to him by his fans (which I am sure is a lot). It is a way in which an actor can keep his ears to the ground.

Especially how TV functions in India, it is needed for an actor to know what is working and what is not.

It is typical in theatre to take what we call "additions". When an actor faces a situation which is unexpected (like missing prop or another actor forgetting the lines), it is common for them to change the dialogue a bit to adjust the situation.

Some theatre actors do it to get laughs or add a punch line to get claps. In theatre, the reactions are instant and they tell an actor if the additions taken by him/her are working.

It is said that every rehearsal and every show is a drama in itself so these are pretty common. It is not an unusual thing to do in films too.

I am not really sure how much of the serial scripts are fluid and how much changes an actor (with enough experience to call a few shots) can bring. But it does seem that a few "additions" in terms of dialogues or designs ARE being done.

And they are adding interesting touches to the show! So bring it on!

I too had no idea that this was called 'additions'. Like improvising at the moment I suppose and bringing the audience into it. What a nice concept. That too in this age of so much online activity which gives a direct link to the actors to feel the pulse.

Coming to Eijaz keeping an eye here.. ummm I'm not so sure if he has time for this.. I think he gets enough info from twitter.. so am not sure... some one can correct me on this...

But am sure of this though.."someone" from the yeh moh moh team keeps an eye our activity and comments and incorporate them in the show😉

I agree. It might be someone else and not necessarily EK. But some of the lines he used in interviews are used in the show. (Woh wali novels, they said in an interview)

In theatre, it is done sometimes out of necessity and sometimes to "play to the gallery" as it is called. (It is interesting to realize so many phrases are taken from theatre)

I am not sure if Radha Rani WAS for our Radha Rani but I am happy to hear her name there. :-D
