For You
He stared at her sleeping figure, blankly. His eyes devoid of any emotions, kept embracing her peaceful form. Had he been that blind to understand the purity of her soul earlier? Of course he had... Had it not been she calling his name, he wouldn't tell how long he was planning to stand there, in front of the bed. She sat straight on the bed, curiously concerned with his presence in her room in the middle of the night. She again asked him, what he was up to, for showing up so late to her. He clearly looked disturbed and it did not take much to her for figuring out.
She wondered what was wrong. The next moment, it hit her that it must be Pari. It wasn't hidden from her how much he had got attached to the little angel, in such a short span of time. She was surprised with his new side, as well. She had seen the extreme of his love for his brothers, his family but for Pari, someone whom he didn't know at all, someone whose family background wasn't known to him... she hadn't expected, not at least that way, to that extent.
Pari was lucky, to be loved by him. She smiled at the thought, as Shivaay and Pari's images flashed before her eyes but her heart broke, the next moment when she recalled how broken he was, when Pari stepped out of his home, rather life. Only if he had any right on Pari, he had moved earth and heaven to hold her back, to keep her always with him. He had done anything and everything to not let that tiny hand that was holding his finger slip off him. Despite of shattering from inside, he hadn't allowed himself to look anything of that sort though none was unaware of his hurt as it got reflected right through his eyes. Anyone could have told, how much affected he was.
Anika had certainly felt nothing but helpless for him. She could feel his pain but couldn't do anything to soothe it. Her own eyes misted when she saw a thin layer of tears gathering in his eyes. Shivaay Singh Oberoi equalled to Stone Singh Oberoi for the world, but not her. He was the Adorable Singh Oberoi, who was extremely emotional and sensitive from deep inside and she... knew that.
"Shivaay, I am sorry. If it had been in my hands, I would never have sit and watch you going through this pain." She let out a helpless sigh, pushing the duvet off her body.
"Pari was not ours, Shivaay. We did not have any right on her." She hoped against the hope that he would understand what she was trying to make him.
He hadn't replied a word to her. "Shivaay, I don't have any medicine for this pain." She tried sounding funny, to cheer him up bringing up his tablet obsession but that did not seem to have helped when she heard him speaking and what she heard, froze her.
"It was in your hands and still you chose to put me through this pain."
"Pari was not mine but you surely were. She had to go from my life because I didn't have any right on her but you deliberately stepped out of my life or say, made me make you step out of it despite of knowing that I loved you."
"You were the medicine to my every wound and you knew it, didn't you?"
He knows it. He does. He knows everything. She couldn't lift her teary gaze at him. She did not know how he came to know, but there wasn't a fraction of the percent doubt left. She knew him better than anyone else and so his words and the meanings behind them. Her heart clenched in fear of how much truth, he was aware about.
"Why?" Cutting off everything, he asked in a plain voice.
She could only mumble...
"For you."
