Chairman of Reliance Jio has bought the majority stake ( abt 25%) of EK's Balaji telefilms amounting a little over 400 crores. With this collaboration all of BT's shows will be regarded as a Reliance company product.

WOAH! Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms collaborates with Mukesh Ambani's Reliance Jio!

And the stakes purchased are worth Rs. 413.28 crores.

In one of the most humungous business deals of all times, Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms has acquired a new stakeholder and that is none other than Reliance Jio chairman, Mukesh Ambani.

According to the details mentioned on a popular website, in a one-of-its-kind deal, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has acquired a 24.92% stake for Rs. 413.28 crore. With this collaboration, Ekta's ALT Balaji and Reliance Jio will work in tandem.

With Reliance building up its Jio network, this step will help strengthen Ekta's ALT Balaji venture as well.

Also, this collaboration will make all of Balaji's shows a Reliance Company product.

Well, looks like Ekta Kapoor has a new 'partner in crime' (pun intended)...Oops! We mean in business.

EK had a series of flop movies last year plus she has stepped into the world of digital media entertainment. No joke she would need a backup of a solid financier for her company. I don't like her ALT shows, they are better than her tv shows of course but too much focus has been given on sensational topics rather than content and acting. It's like projecting her daily soaps all over again.

Point to be noted, Ambanis lost around 30% market value of the investment they made on EK's BT!

Ryt. Sex n sensations mostly. But it can be a strong new medium where gender issue won't be a factor anymore.
