Box Office Report: Tiger Shroff's Munna Michael will own the single screens, while Dunkirk will rule the multiplexes
This Friday will be exceptional with Munna Michael, Dunkirk and Lipstick Under My Burkha

Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaifs Jagga Jasoos failed to light up the box office last week, but looks like this Friday might turn out be very interesting. Not because we have a huge release, but cause we have three really interesting films coming out this week. Tiger Shroff Nidhhi Agerwal's Munna Michael, Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk and Konkana Sen Sharma Ratna Pathak Shah's Lipstick Under My Burkha will hit the screens. And while each one of them caters to a different audience and will co-exist quite easily, it will be an interesting week for the movie goers as well at the ticket window. But how much will each of them rake in over the first weekend? To know that and more, we called up our trade expert Akshaye Rathi (exhibitor and distributor) and here's what he had to say...
While talking about the buzz surrounding Munna Michael, Akshaye mentioned, "Munna Michael will take a phenomenal opening at the single screens and with the mass audience. It's looking like an absolute entertainer and the chemistry between Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tiger Shroff looks crackling. I mean, both of them will give fantastic performances. Sabbir Khan has always made the kind of entertainers that people and the masses enjoy. The music has been spot on and the songs have picked up very well. So it is a very interesting weekend up ahead. Akshaye further added that the film will be released in 1400 screens and being a massy one, he predicted that, "Munna Michael can earn Rs 6-8 crore on day one and Rs 18-25 crore over the first weekend.
Dunkirk, on the other hand, would have a limited release in 750- 800 screens across India, but it will still manage to earn a decent number at box office. Talking about the buzz surrounding Dunkirk and predicting the collections over the weekend, Akshaye revealed, "For the urban audience that watches Hollywood films and is very well read about cinema from across the globe, obviously Dunkirk is the priority. It will take a fantastic opening in the urban centres and multiplexes. But it will have a significantly limited release in terms of the number of screens. So according to me, Dunkirk should earn about Rs 3.50 crore on day one and over the weekend, it should rake in Rs 15-20 crore.
Akshaye further added that Lipstick Under My Burkha is an interesting watch too, but it will have a niche release in about 400-500 screens. However, even with such a small release, the movie would do well and earn a decent amount over the weekend.
