self respect ..how strange a word

I was just seeing the narration of characters of baabul kaa aangaan choote naa ...in that they describe about ..."son in law "saying ..he is a honest and a man with self respect ...who does not want to stay as ghar jamai( girl's house) ...how strange ..!!!

why dont women realise this fact ...and just follow a stupid man made tradition ..of getting married and moving into husbands house n leaving their own parents ....no matter how much people shout on top of their voices ,,saying we dont mind if we give birth to boy or girl ...back of their mind they will want a son ..because ...some manipulative people have made that tradition for all the spineless females ...that sons carry family names n cremate their parents after their death .this is disgusting

why cant both husband n wife move out of their homes after wedding ..n start a new life ..n give equal importance to decisions or advices.. made by ..both the inlaws ..from her side n his side ..

but pity is that ..it would be women who try to get women down n insulting their very existence by treating their husbands more like gods n less like humans ...they tend to forget even their brother was born ..exactly like them ..n he doesnt become god ..jus because he is married.

I think u are getting a bit over the top by calling some females spineless and all that..

and don't u think the man is right by saying that he has self respect and wouldn't want to become a ghar-jamai..??
I think it's only the truth, a son in law should either live in his own house or in his parent's house with his wife, but not at the house of his wife..so i agree with him..

And i think some traditions are there to be respected, like as a girl, who gets married...moving away from your maayka to where your hubby takes you along..either at his house or at another house...

anyways i do agree with yah that respect should be given to both parties...your maayka and your sasural wale!!
after all you can't live without them...

well darling i never said the man was wrong in not wanting to stay as ghar jamai...i said ..even gals can have self respect n do the same thing ...more over ...what bloody tradition are u talking bout ...that india is so proud about ....oh ya ...sons take care of their parents till they live right ..n let me enlighten u ...majorty of families in india where the so called sons ..who let their parents ,grandparents n entire khandans to live with them after marraige n gets his wife into that so called family of his ...expects his wife to do all the services to them ....and he boasts saying he earns the bread ...( most of the females can earn their bread as well) but of course the society is least bothered about that...

give 10 more years n i challenge ....tell every son who wants to live with his parents n khandaan n expects his wife to live with them....ask all those sons to do services to their families themselves like cooking ,cleaning ,entertaining them ...lets see ..how long this so called tradtion remains ....well ...10 yrs would become days in no time ...dont argue for the sake of arguing ...

First of all..don't use words like Bloody
Secondly..i think you are generalizing about things, not all sons are like that..
And waisey bhi zamanaa badal gaya hai...men and women have equal rights nowadays and a son can cook, clean, take care of traditions as well as a girl does...( i know coz all my bro's can do what we girls can do...)

But yeah it's a fact that we people have different point of views and we should learn to respect each others opinions, even though sometimes we might not agree.
So i think it will be pointless to have any kind of debate on this at this forum..or else i can always ask to move this thread to DEbate mansion😆😆

Take care

well am not talking about the 1% boys /husbands who do work at home ...am talking of the majority here ....they are not doing any favours on their wives by doing house hold chores ...if as u say men n women are equal ...then let me remind u those traditions are made , centuries back ,when every body knows what importance women were given ....as u said there isnt any debate in this topic ...i can speak for myself ....i definetely hav the spine n selfrespect ...so after wedding i would not leave my own parents ,(as if their only job was to give birth to me n raise me )....for some one else's... no matter which fool makes that tradition ...when am married am committed to my husband n our children ...not his mum, dad, dog, his house, great gran mom, great grand dad, uncles n aunts😆
