Nice post.
True he can't bear to see Pinky and it is the upbringing/dadi's presence that is making him stop and listen to his mom. He can barely tolerate her as it is. When she is nice towards Nagini and bad mouths, all the accusations that Anika hurled at him before she left, comes to mind.
He is building up a pile of all her insults/neglects towards Anika and he did nothing to stop that. His merely saying stop it mom, never helped them, not Anika in the least. He never mattered to Pinky other than being a trophy son, displayed and petted proudly. He is resenting her for not accepting his choice, for being mean towards Anika, for being a drama queen and for forcing Anika's hand.
I think on some deeper level, he realizes that his mom had something to do with the sudden change in
Anika. he can't put a finger on it yet but he is getting there.
As Jhanvi said, if only tears are written in your fate, then that is what one will have. Never sounded more true for Pinky than the present, where instead of rejoicing that the 'manhoos' has left the house, she is being increasingly isolated from the family. First by 'Her Shivaay', who never disrespected her ever. Now he is disdainful, indifferent to his mom and does not want to spend a second more than necessary.
As Tej said, what does Pinky have besides Shivaay, Nothing. Pinky has nothing left for her. All her pride, arrogance and ego is taking a beating slowly, eroding her down. She has not yet realized her error and is blind in regaining the upper hand where her son is concerned. By saying the word 'my son', 'my son' does not make her a good mother. When she feels this, that is when she will truly regret and repent for her deeds of separating Shivika. She took away from her Shivaay the one true thing that he truly cared for.
