He's not the old SSO because the old SSO had humanity. All the Shivkara arguments in the beginning proved that while he might not show it he empathized with others. For him, the world wasn't just black and white it had shades of grey too. He was reserved not emotionally detached or insensitive. He had a difficulty expressing himself and didn't broadcast his feelings or his emotions to everyone, but he had them. He rarely shows his emotions, but he was clearly touched by her gesture when she baked him the cake. He was grief-stricken when Om took drugs again. He was heartbroken when she got engaged to Daksh. He was distraught when she was missing when he woke up after being shot. Or the business award scene where Om, Rudra, and Anika literally had to coax him into being happy. He didn't see the big deal in his success but them being proud of him made him happy, not the actual award. He was blushing when she was picking out a suit for him to wear. His brothers and Anika make him happy. He is not himself anymore because Pinky quite literally stole his half of his happiness.
With Tia, it was indifference, but he cared for her on a human level when she was kidnapped and hurt. Like Anika, he was worried about her baby even though she was lying and trying to trap him. Her child was innocent and didn't deserve to be punished for her sins. Maybe this was Anika rubbing off on him or the truth he discovered about Om's illegitimacy softening up his reaction to pregnant Tia. Now there is a severe coldness mixed with his indifference.
This Shivaay feels nothing. Other than his brothers it doesn't matter what happens and to who.
The scandalous news had no effect him. Her image can be marred and her engagement possibly called off, but his response "oh well relationships are meant to broken she'll live". Severe indifference. Then comes the phone call about her safety as risk and his response""I will send doctor and inform the police". Absolute coldness.
I'm conflicted because I'm sure I'm not alone when I say I laughed at his doctor and police comment. He never was the type to go crusading for strangers, but he didn't even flinch at the thought of a woman being physically abused. Friends? People treat strangers better than this đ
His reaction was cold and unfeeling. He didn't care to help, but he'll do the bare minimal. When the phone call was cut its normal to imagine the worst, but he didn't even care to follow-up on the situation and he was over it...just like that. He was okay with going on with his day like the call never happened. She could have been in the news for being murdered and he wouldn't even blink. That's a big leap from the man that carried that same injured stranger into his home 3 months ago. I wouldn't be shocked if his dismissal of Ragini is because of Pinky. In the past, he resented her for her treatment of Omru so he ignored her. Now he resents her kindness to a stranger given the way she treated Anika in the past. He subconsciously shuts down and detaches from anything related to Pinky.
There was never a relationship between them, but he at least tried to mask his indifference by limiting their interactions. He was embarrassed by Pinky and at times rude but never openly cruel. Being married Anika made him value her more. He cared when she was sad or upset, but now he doesn't even bother to mask his dislike.
The way he threw the medicine box out of her hand...
The way he completely cuts her off when she speaks to him...
There was a time her fake tears influenced him, but now her real tears and sadness have no effect on him. It shows on his face, in his body language, and his tone when speaks to her. He doesn't want to talk to her, be around, or even look at her. Her presence makes him unhappy and he doesn't even bother hiding it. He is unapologetically apathetic. If he is like this now what happens to them all after he finds out the truth.
This isn't what I expected to happen, but I'm intrigued by this new development. I'm curious to see where all this is going.
