Author's Note: Based on Mirchi. After Jai narrated his story to Manasa he had mentioned it was Vennela who'd informed him about the current scenario of his village. This two-shot is based on what their conversion would have been like.
Part:1
'Jai weds Vennela'
On and on she traced these words on her wedding card with a face that had no expression to show. This had become her favorite time pass for all these months after that awful day.
Everything had happened in the blink of an eye that she still couldn't believe it. Her world had come to an end and his too.
Long before today her mother had suggested rather requested her to do away with every memory related to him but she just could not, but today she was ordered to do so. She rose up.
It was a photograph that caught her attention. She was sitting beside him, on their mandap, in her yellow silk sari and he had been looking the other side with a blushing smile.
She giggled a little. How very efficient he was in liberally staring at her and then getting away without being caught! That day also, when he had slightly brushed his feet against her, he had gotten an expected reaction from her and then made that clueless look for others. He loved teasing her but he loved making her feel loved too.
Jai's style of loving was different. He rarely used to word his feelings for her, it always was his eyes which did the speaking part. She always had a sense of being watched whenever he was near but as she used to raise to see him he immediately looked away. She had begun to like this game.
When the talks of their marriage were taking place where she was all red blushing, she would always find him sitting there with a happy but a practical face. It had made everyone understand that she was the only one who was overexcited for their wedding. But two-three times she had been lucky enough to notice how he used to first check for himself whether anyone was looking at him or not and when sure that he didn't have any spectators he would sheepishly bend his head and give away a shy blush of his. For Vennela it wasn't less than a massive discovery!
He never used to say all the time about how much he loved her or what importance she held in his life but she had gotten used to his subtle ways. Especially when there were people around, his talking used to become even lesser but with other senses becoming alive it was as if the intensity with which love radiated from him would become four folds and she'd blush more and he would make an even straighter face than before.
The day when she had to shop for her wedding sari, he had to be literally dragged to the market by athayya. Once when she was overburdened with too many choices he had decided to inform his employee about how he would prefer yellow with red as the second tone on his latest building project to white with red or orange and green.
"Oh Jai I miss you so much. Where are you?" she hugged that picture to her heart and broke into tears. How could she ever forget him! Her Deva uncle had said she would die if she stayed with him but without him she wasn't alive either. No matter what he said she was ready to walk into Hell if her Bava would be by her side.
Knowing that she could not love anyone else she once again rose but with a glint of determination in her eyes.
She turned to see her phone buzzed up with a call from an unknown number.
"Hello."
She got no response.
"Hello?"
The person on the other side breathed heavily.
"Bava?"
He breathed some more.
"Bava, it's you, right?"
"Vennela."
Finally he had called. She closed her eyes tightly and shed the leftover tears, letting his voice taking her name fill her body. It was as if she'd gotten her world back. Finally he'd called.
"Vennela, are you there?"
"Sorry, I mean yes. I mean...I am," she could burst with joy.
"Vennela, how are.. How's everyone there? How's Naanna?"
She noticed that he didn't ask about her but it couldn't lessen her happiness a bit.
"Everyone here is in good health. Uncle is good too but I think misses you a lot."
"Really?", Vennela could hear the longing in his voice.
"Yes of course. Though he doesn't say, it's pretty visible to everyone at home."
"And what's the condition in the village. I hope everything is normal like before."
"To be honest, Bava after that day the condition here has worsen from bad to extremely bad with days. There are fights almost daily. Now no one in the family even dares to step outside. The situation here is uncontrollable now that it scares me to no end."
"Hmm... "
"You please don't blame yourself for this. Whatever's happening here was bound to happen someday."
"Hmm... "
"Bava.. How are you?"
"I'm fine Vennela. Currently pursuing further studies in Milan."
He again didn't ask for her. But he couldn't forget her if she couldn't.
"So do you miss.. eh..us?"
"Of course, how can I not miss my family, but life here is so engaging that I scarcely get any time to think about anything else. And how are you? Gotten married?"
It was the casual manner in which he asked about her marital status that hurt her nose while her tear became brimful. It was as if he didn't bother whether she was single or taken, as if they never had any past.
"Vennu I hope you're ready," someone called from outside, he heard it too.
"I think you must go now."
"Oh yes. I'm sure they're here."
"Who?"
"The family in which I'll soon be married to."
She could bet he hitched a bit before responding or it was a mere imagination.
"Good luck, Vennela."
And he cut the call.

It was my first story on them, I hope you liked this one.*fingers crossed* It was supposed to be a one shot but I'm too tired to write any more, so the next and last part will be a very small one.
I know the title felt plain but couldn't think of anything else.
