Well having an expensive marriage/wedding is not wrong if you can afford it. By spending money, you are generating income for others. Thats a good thing. But if you cannot afford, then DONT. Its not wise to borrow or take loan for a show off event. Those who are richie riches- go ahead. Their spending is keeping businesses alive.

Yes wedding ceremonies are a huge waste of money IMO too - I'd save up every penny spent on ceremonies for buying stuff like spoons/drapes/household stuff for my new home with my husband! or save the money for my future child!
