CHAPTER 8
It's being 6 pm of the eve. All the light bulbs hanging over the roof of the ship were now turned on. The yellow light falling on the waves of clear crystal water looks like the rays of sun are falling on a broken mirror. Riya turned herself and begins to stare at the waves producing on sea water..A soft music was playing behind.
The ship reaches the edge of the island. Everyone started getting off the ship, Riya along with her friends followed their fellows. On putting her feet on wet sand makes her feel relaxed. The water flowing and coming up again wets her feet.
Everyone reaches the Villa where they had to stay. It was the only Villa that exists on the island. Rest was filled with trees with huge trunks and wiled animals.
"Okay everyone..Go to your rooms hurry up! kal subha we have to leave for the island tour" said the Guider.
Next Morning, All students were set to go for the tour. All the edibles and necessary things including some weapons (for their safety) were taken along with them. Shreetu were jumping with joy and excitement to round the whole island.
Before leaving for the tour. Riya glimpses on Arjun but avoids when she remembers the blank call sent to arjun, smiles, walks forward. While arjun's eyes were still searching for her but he doesn't knew that she has been left earlier. On passing by, Ronnie hits arjun on his arm and asked "Oye..tu yaha khada kis ki raah tak raha hai". "Wo...sam..i'm waiting for sam to come" he replied hurriedly. Ronnie laughs and said "Arjun..sam ja chuka hai woh aagy hai ab chal warna peechy reh jayein ge".
On the way, The Guider took the students into a cave which was almost 100 years old. He told them that several snakes use to live in this cave, which scares most of them. Shree's legs begins to shiver with fear. "Ch..Ch..chotu..aur Aaa...aaaisha aggar mujjhee kuuch hoo gaaya naa..too tu..tum log meri aai tak itni baat pohnch dena ke aai..aap ka bb..beta aap se boht pyaar karta tha" said shree.
"Shut up shree...yaha koi mazak nahi chal raha" taunted aisha. Ronnie laughed watching shree shivering with fear.
The Guider then took them forward, and showed the Sculptures kept at several places. And some antique pieces which amazed everyone. They came out of the cave and continued their journey. The whole day was passed in walking..walking and just walking. It was getting dark, all felt hungry and even tired. They decided to take rest for a while and to return to the villa. Riya along with shreetu and Aisha sits on some stones placed nearby the bushes.
Riya take out the water bottle from her bag and drinks it, so does the trio sitting besides her. "Boht bhook lagi hai yaar..agar pata hota ke island pe aa kar bhooka marna padega to mein kabhi na aati yaha pe" said aisha. "I agree aisha mujhe bhi boht bhook lagi hai" replied shree. Chottu brings a box containing some edibles out of his bag and showed the duo.
Shree gives a big smile and snatches the box from chottu's hand saying " Shabbash chottu..aaj yeh khota sikka bhi kaam aa hi gya. Par tere pas yeh khana aya kaha se". Chottu smiles back and said "Jab hum subha ghar se nikal rahe the to socha thoda extra khaana bhi rakh lu kya pata kab tere andar ka janwar jag jaye". Chottu and aisha laughed making shree embarrassed. While trio were busy in eating, riya was lost in deep thoughts, remebering arjun. On the other hand, although they were together, still they were far away even to have a little glimpse of each other.
"Guys mein aata hoon" said ronnie and leaves the place. He goes behind the bushes, took out a bottle and a bandana, poured out some of the liquid on it and walks straight. He searches for riya, on finding her he goes towards her. Still lost in thoughts of arjun, riya was smiling, when ronnie puts the bundana on her mouth. Inhaling the liquid though her nostrils, she looses her senses. He pulls her back to himself, hiding her and himself from all others, he carries an unconscious riya to the cave in which the snakes rests at night. He leaves her there and walks out. He came back and joins samjun again.
All returns back to the villa. On returning, aisha realizes that they're missing riya as she couldn't locate her anywhere. "Shree..chottu riya kaha hai" asked aisha a bit worriedly. "Yahi kahi hogi na aisha boht thak gaye hain chalo chal kar thoda aram kar lete hain" replied shree in deep voice. "Haan aisha tum riya ki fikar chodo aur apni fikar karo dekho kya bura haal ho raha hai mera. Aaj kam se kam 5-10 kilo wazan (weight) to kam ho hi gaya hoga" said chottu. "Nonsense" said aisha a bit harshly and left the spot.
Luckily, arjun overheads their conversation along with sam, both looks at eachother. Later, it was being 10pm. All were enjoying together at the party. Arjun rolls his eyes all around in search of riya but she wasn't shown up with her companions ,which made him a little bit worried. He goes to aisha and asked about the matter as she looks tensed. On asking, aisha told him about riya's absence. He goes to sam."Sameer.." said arjun in a bit worried voice. "Kya hua arjun sab thik to hai na" sam asked.
"Riya is missing" said arjun in a disturbing voice.
"What...again..Dammit!" sam replied.
"We've to do something urgently sam mera dil boht ghabra raha hai i'm not having a positive feeling about her" said arjun.
"Ok...ok relax. Ek kam karte hain dono saath chal kar ussey dhundte hain i'm sure wo yahi kahi hogi" said sam while consoling him.
Ronit watches them leaving, stopped them and asked "tum dono kaha ja rahe ho bhai..party ka mazaa to yaha hai na". "Riya missing hai yaar. Hum dono ussi ko dhundne ja rahe hain" explained sam. This angers ronnie. He tried to divert their attention towards present but arjun was stubborn. He goes to choree and confronts them for not taking care of their beloved friend during the tour. They felt ashamed. "I'm going to search for riya...agar koi interested hai to mere saath aa sakta hai" saying this arjun walks out. Other four also follows him including ronnie.
On the other hand, Riya gains consciousness and found herself in a big trouble. Getting entangled in a rope, she's sitting on the floor with her back with the wall. Enclosed in a glass box. To her fright, she found snakes roaming around her. Sweat poured out of her body, hands and face. She wanted to scream hard but wasn't able to do so as her mouth was tightened with a piece of white cloth.
All five young men spent almost 3 hours in search of riya but found not even a single sign of her to get located. Arjun takes out his mobile and dialed the number but the call was unreachable. "Shit...yaha to network bhi nahi hai" yelled arjun. "Relax arjun..we'll get to her soon" said sam and tried to give him courage.
Riya in the cave, is fearful. "Riya..lagta hai hamesha ki tarha aaj bhi tere luck ne tera saath chod diya" said riya to herself. She felt totally helpless. She tried to search for anything which could free her but all in vain. While lost in deep thoughts of her presence in this cave shocks her when she saw a band fallen outside the box. Picking a little trouble, she manages to look the band more nearly. To her surprise, the band was of a known person. "Toh...us ne kiye yeh sab" she thought in her mind shockley. "Tumhe to mein chodu gi nahi ronnie ek baar mujhe yaha se nikal lene do" she added angrily.
Holding the flashlights in their hands, while passing through the cave arjun stops by there. Other three continued walking a few steps further. On realizing that arjun has stopped they also stops and turned to look for him. They found him standing still and trying to guess something. Sam came to arjun and asked " Arjun kya hua tum ruk kyu gaye" .
Arjun rises his head and said " Pata nahi sam..par mujhe aisa lag raha he ke hum riya ke boht aas paas hain, mujhe aisa lag raha hai ke riya yahi kahi hai aur kisi musibat mein hai".
Sam put his hand on arjun's shoulder and said " Fikar mat karo, iss baar hum ussey dhund lein ge" saying this sam continues walking but arjun stops him and said " Ruko guys, i think we should check in this cave once". "Arjun tum pagal ho gaye ho. Us guider ne kaha tha na raat ko us gufa mein saanp hoty hain" said shree making faces. "Marwaye ga arjun aaj to tu pakka marwaye ga" thought ronnie in his mind. "Arr..arjun i think shree sahi bol raha hai itni raat ko gufa mein jana thik nahi hoga" said ronnie while trying to stop him entering the cave.
"Tum logo ko nahi jana to thik hai mein jaa raha hoon" saying this arjun walks towards the cave, Ronnie and sam follows him. "Jaane do...chal chottu hum ri ko aagy se dhundte hain" said shree to chottu. "Shree...mujhe lagta hai iss andheri raat me dar dar ke marne se acha hai hum arjun ka saath dein" replied a fearful chottu. "Tujhe saanp ke dasvane ka shoq hai to tu jaa mein nahi aa raha tere saath tujhe apni zindagi pyaari nahi to na sahi..mujhe boht pyaari hai" replied shree. "Shree..iss waqt hamare liye riya ki zindagi zyada pyaari hai ab chal mere saath" said chottu in a bit orderly voice. "ha..haan ok..aata hoon" he replied and both follows other four.
After searching for almost an hour, they got to they place where riya was kept. In the state of worry, Arjun's eyes capture riya's glimpse who was enclosed in a glass box and tied with ropes. "Riya" called out arjun. An extremely anger, ronnie closes his eyes "Dammit" he mumbled.
Samjun and shreetu rushes to reach riya but to their surprise, they found endless snakes around the box. All were shocked. For a few seconds, arjun became senseless. "Ab kya karein ge arjun" asked sam worriedly. Riya on the other hand, get unconscious. "ab hum ri ko kaise bachayein ge yaha to sach mein itne saare aur bade bade saanp hain. hum to in ka ek niwala (bite) hain bass" said shree to himself loudly. "Bachayein ge shree...tumhari ri ko kuch nahi hoga..mein much nahi hone doon ga" saying this arjun steps forward. "Ruk ja arjun teri jaan ko khatra ho sakta hai" said sameer while grabbing his arm to stop him. Arjun freed his arm and said "Khatra to riya ki jaan ko bhi hai sam..aur hum yaha wapis lautne ke liye nahi aaye. " saying this, he continues walking.
"Shit...mene jitna socha tha yeh jaga to us se bhi dangerous nikli. Aur upar se arjun ka ye pagalpan. Kahi riya ko saza dene ke chakkar main..mein apne dost ko na kho doon. Nahi..aisa nahi ho sakta., mein aisa nahi hone doon ga" ronnie thought in his mind. "Arjun ruk ja" yelled ronnie. Arjun stops. "Arjun hum kal subha bhi to riya ko bacha sakte hain aabhi dekh itne saare saanp hai waha tera jaana wahan thik nahi arjun please mat ja" ronnie tried to make him understand. " Hum saari raat riya ko aise akela nahi chod sakte ronit..i have to go" said arjun and turns forward to continue walking straight.
The morning time had already started. The sun rises in no time and the burning rays of sun, find it's way to enter the darkened cave. The snakes in no time, disappears from their eyes.
To their goodness..there was no snake in the morning as per guider's knowledge those guard snakes comes out only in darkness. He immediately reaches to riya, broke the glass and takes out riya who was still unconscious. He picks her and brings out the cave. Laying her down, he put her head in his lap and tries to make her conscious. Suddenly, shree's eyes caught the sting of snake's bite on her leg. "Arjun..ye dekho, riya ko saanp ne kaata hai" yelled shree. "What??" said sameer. All looked at her bitted leg. " Ye kaise...mene to riya ko safely us glass box mein rakha tha taake usse koi nuqsan na pohnche to phir saanp ne kaise.." ronnie was lost in his thoughts. "Arjun humein isse jald se jald se jald medical treatment ke liye le kar jana hoga warna zehar poori body mein phel jayega" said sam. Arjun nodded his head and picks riya to the villa. They took her for medical help. After an hour the doctor informed them of her well being. Arjun sighed relief.
"Doctor can we meet riya" asked aisha. "Yes please..she's absolutely alright now" replied the doctor. Shreetu, aisha and ronnie went inside while arjun and sam were about to enter the room when doctor stops him and hand over a band they found from riya while nursing. "Arjun yeh band toh..." stopping in mid sam looked at his own wrist band, arjun also showed up his band. The band in their hand, was similar to the band they were wearing on their own wrists. "is ka matlab ronnie..nahi sam yeh nahi ho sakta nahi ho sakta" said arjun while breathing shortly. Arjun went inside the room. Aisha and shreetu were sitting on chairs near riya's bed while ronnie was standing at a side. Arjun and sam goes and stand besides ronnie. "ronit tera band to dikha zara" said arjun in a bit ordery voice. Ronit's face color changed. "Kya hua ronnie..dikha na hamari dosti ka band" said sam in a bit harsh voice.
Ronnie forwards his hand. He made his cuff up, Arjun and sam gets shocked getting their friendship band on his wrist. "Armm..." Sameer fakes his laugh and said "Dekha arjun..hamari dosti kitni gehri hai". "Haan" and he also fakes a smile. "Toh phir ye chotha band kis ka hai wo bhi bilkul hamare jaisa" thought arjun in his mind. Ronnie smirks and said to himself "chalo acha hua...mere paas is band ka ek extra piece tha warna aaj to mein pakka jaata kaam se".
One more day is passed down..The sun of another happy morning rises up. The trip to the island comes to end. Now, it was the time to return to their respective city. The ship was ready to cover it's journey back till the city.
"Mumbai, Maharashtra" Riya and her companions reaches to riya's house but this time, on insisting by riya, samjun and ronnie were also with her.
On hearing the door bell, Mr. Vikram goes to open the door. Riya, on seeing her brother waited for no time and immediately hugs him. The other's pays greeting to him. "Bhai yeh sab mere dost hain" said riya while introducing them to vikram. He smiles but it was of short time when his eyes catches ronnie under his sight. Ronnie also looks angrily at him, faking his smile.

PS: Tried to cover the journey on island in one go. Hope you'll like the part and if anyhow i get fail in reaching your expectations, then i'm sorry.
