I think people are failing to realize just how embracing the Hindi film audience is. That's something nobody seems to talk about. Bahubali 2 (Hindi) is at 505 crores right now. The second best (Dangal) did 374 crores at the box-office. Do you think any Bollywood movie--even as appealing as Bahubali--would have done record business in Telugu-dominated territories? I don't think so. It's never happened before. The biggest Hindi blockbuster since Sholay (HAHK) was released only in Hindi. What Indian movie has done blockbuster/huge business in South India? Was it 3 Idiots? And, even there, it was decent business, a few crores at max.
Bahubali 2's Hindi business has as much to do with the Hindi-film audience as much as being a universally appealing movie. Let's not forget that.
Nonetheless, I'm finding this Tollywood vs Bollywood comparison ridiculous. Here's a list of top net earners in India (BOI):
1. Bahubali 2 - The Conclusion - 7,04,00,00,000 apprx
2. Bahubali (2015) - 4,19,56,00,000
3. Dangal (2016) - 3,87,28,00,000
4. PK (2014) - 3,37,72,50,000
5. Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015) - 3,15,49,00,000
6. Sultan (2016) - 3,00,67,25,000
7. Dhoom 3 (2103) - 2,71,63,00,000
8. Robot (2010) - 2,13,84,00,000
9. Kick (2014) - 2,11,63,00,000
10. Chennai Express (2013) - 2,07,69,00,000
Bahubali movies + Robot aside, there are
seven movies from Bollywood in this list. So, let's just relax for a bit.

Why do people keep on forgetting dangal? Is the hindi collection of both the films comparable?
Because Dangal's China business dwarves its Indian business. Bahubali 2's India net collection is 1050 crores (all languages). Dangal's all-India net collection is 387 crores (all languages). Plus, Bahubali is the 2nd biggest blockbuster of the last 40 years--only behind HAHK. If you count its Hindi version only, it's the first film to have crossed 400 and 500 crores. Dangal is no competition to Bahubali 2 in India.
