Priyanka Chopra's 1st Hollywood DISASTER

This week is mainly dominated by two Hollywood releases and Wonder Woman easily crushed the much hyped Baywatch at the box office in India. Wonder Woman was released with no promotion and in just English rather than the the four language release of English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

It managed to collect 2.50 crore nett on day one which is a pretty good collection for a film which is releasing in English only. The film managed to pick up well in the evening shows and should come out with a healthy weekend.

Baywatch is a pretty much a disaster in India like it was in the States. The film grossed just 1.50 crore nett apprx on day one and was released in four languages (English, Hindi, Tamil and Telegu). It hardly mattered that it featured an Indian star like Priyanka Chopra. The attempt was to create hype that it was an Indian star in a Hollywood film but the hype stays just within the media circle and hardly reaches the audience as they are simply not interested. Earlier this year XXX - Return of Xander Cage with Deepika Padukone had flopped but Baywatch has topped that and is a disaster.

Pirates of The Caribbean - Salazar's Revenge has seen a drop in collections on day eight to around 60 lakhs nett and the film will probably finish up with around 26 crore nett lifetime business which is below the mark.
