I will shamelessly admit that I no longer feel anything concerning Maya's abusive childhood. Perhaps she's turned into such a devil that such sob stories just doesn't cut it anymore. She was horribly abused - if her stories are not horrible concoction and fabrication - but some people face even much worse torture and humiliation physically & mentally but as long as one doesn't surrender to the criminal streaks, he doesn't evolve into a cold murderer.
Look at Jhanvi for instance, she's had it tough too. Abusive, philandering husband and now a murderess as a daughter - what exactly did she achieve in her life? Nothing! Nada! But Is she wreaking havoc and going a jeremiad about how her life is so unfair to justify that in the sickest manner! No because she's a human albeit with her own share of shortcomings.
Maya, on the other hand, is personification of devil, and she's a born criminal.

Jhanvi ended up failing as a mother because she failed herself first by putting up with Ashwin. I can understand Maya the daughter holding Jhanvi responsible for her childhood. Maya blaming Jhanvi or holding grudges against her is understandable. But using all of these as an excuse to harm or kill Jhanvi is simply not okay. Right now, Maya is much more in the wrong than Jhanvi ever was.

brilliantly put. A woman had the worst husband and a criminal daughter, yet didn't turn a criminal. And honestly people get more demonically abused. Yet they can choose right paths for themselves. If Maya is aware of her sickness why doesn't she get herself treated? She's not a sarakchhap paagal. She's a psychopath maybe. But if she knows she's wrong at times, why doesn't she consult doctors when she's alright?

@ bold what a comparison! Jhanvi deliberately chose Ashwin even after his abuses...Maya didn't chose to be Ashwin's daughter...she didn't live with Ashwin after his abuses...she handled her grandfathers business...Most of all childhood abuse impact people to greater extent (read articles and true stories) ...If Jhanvi was being abused by her husband...it was her choice to go behind him every single time! She had her father's business why she didn't left Ashwin? Why she let herself and her daughter get abused and EVEN if not abused than blackmailed,,,why?? Tolerating cruelty is also wrong or to some extent its a crime...

@bold Maya the character! is not a born criminal nobody is a born criminal...Otherwise she would have killed Ashwin the day he abused her for the first time...Her employees won't be surviving, she would have never everr saved her mother from Ashwin...The character Maya Malhotra is not a monster of any paranormal show...she is a psychopath in psychological thriller...Her attempt to kill her mother was above any of her other crimes...I agree...but that's how they were going to show it...Her obsession for Arjun is beyhad...which is quite disturbing...

Nobody is a born criminal. True

Psychopaths are born not bred. Also true

If you believe her to be a psychopath, then the saga of her childhood abuse doesn't matter much. That's what @FleurBleue was saying.
