Chapter-7

Geet helped dadi to have her medicine and milk..Then she checked her Bp and other things.. After getting satisfied she asked dadi to sleep as she needed a good sleep...

Maan and Sam were there too.

Good Night Dadi .Sleep well...If you say I can stay here? Though Sam asked but wished in side of her heart to get a rejection for her wish from dadi..

And dadi in one day has understood that she was taking her as a burden on her. She did not stayed with her for even one hour during the day.. She was coming and leaving to her room after asking her if she needed anything

. She knew that she was newly wedded and needed some good time to enjoy but it was not in her hands to get well quickly to take care of the house like before..

Dadi looked at her with a smile and said-No Sam..You don't need to stay.. I have Geet with me and you know about her how good care she took of me at Hospital..Now you can relax beta..Go and sleep.. See you in the morning..

She could not say anything else as she was her choice for whom she fought with Maan and forced him to marry..

But she was now disappointed too with Sam..She had seen that she was not at all responsible towards anyone..

Are you sure dadi?

Maan was looking at that selfish woman who just had refused to stay in that small room few minutes ago and now was pretending to be good in front of dadi..

Very sure Sam..Go and sleep.. Good night..

Good night dadi.. and she left..

Geet I m in the room next to this one..If you need you can wake me up...He told Geet

Ok sir but I don't think I will need you.. You can sleep comfortably as you hadn't slept well from many nights in hospitals..You too need rest otherwise you too will fall sick and how will I take care both of you?

And at this not only Maan but dadi too looked at her..She found them staring at herself and understood that she had said something more than needed..

Sorry wo..I mean I saw you not sleeping properly in hospital..that's why. Nothing else.. I m sorry if I said something wrong.. She was embarrassed and avoided to look at any of them..

Maan was having a smile on his face and dadi noticed it..She too smiled..

Geet can I request you something? Dadi asked and Geet and Maan looked at her

Ji boliye ma'am..What can I do for you?

Umm Geet your this white uniform reminds me of Hospital ..I feel as if I m still in hospital..

Ma'am but I m on duty so have to wear it..

Geet looked at Maan..She needed his permission as he was the doctor ..and Maan nodded..It's Ok Geet ,.Do as dadi says.

Geet picked her bag up to take her clothes.

Maan left from there and went to the kitchen to drink water.. And he took a water bottle to keep it with him at night ..Then he remembered that Geet too might need it so he took another bottle and went to dadi's room..

He kept the bottle on the side stool near the bed which was set for Geet..

Dadi smiled seeing him-Thanks Maan

Maan came near her and held her hand in his..

It's ok Dadi.. Jo hona the ho gaya.. ab kuchh nahin ho sakta..

Par Maan before she could say ahead they heard the click sound of Door nob of washroom and Geet came out of the room after changing in her personal dress..

Maan's face was towards the door of the washroom and his eyes fell on Geet first..His eyes were captivated and he could not remove his eyes from her face... it was the first time he was looking her in different outfit other than uniform..Her hair which were always tied inside of her cap were open and resting on her shoulders touching her waist line..He could not stop himself from admiring her beauty in side of her heart..Beautiful was the only word which he could feel at that very first moment..She was wearing a simple white and pink salwar kameez

Dadi looked at him and found him lost and then she turned her gaze towards Geet and found her too looking at him and next moment she saw her lowering her head..

Geet..You are so beautiful. Uniform me to tumhaari khoobsurti jaise chhup gayi thi... Dadi praised her and Maan looked at her hearing her words..

Geet too smiled nervously hearing her compliments..

T..thanks ma'am and she went near her bed.. Dadi found Maan still looking at Geet..

Maan Have you seen Geet like this earlier?..I mean in her normal dress..She is so pretty na. I never imagined her to be this beautiful...

and Maan startled and looked at dadi..Umm dadi..I m going to sleep..you too sleep..it's late..Good night..

and he went out with fast pace..Dadi shook her head and then she looked at Geet for a moment looked at Maan and then got busy in folding her uniform..

She after folding up her uniform kept it in her bag..and came near dadi..

Ma'am now you should sleep..It's late..

I will sleep ..you go and sleep..You too might be tired.

It's ok Ma'am..pahle aap so jaaiye uske baad main bhi so jaaungi..and if you need anything please call me..Don't try to get up at your own..

I don't know why..I m not feeling sleepy right now.. may be I m tired of taking too much rest

It happens Ma'am.. You are the head of the house and was managing this home till now ..Now you are on bed so you may feel helpless..But please don't stress yourself.. You have Dr. Khurana and now his wife too..You will be fine soon

She came near her and sat on the chair kept near her bed..Are you feeling any pain in your body due to lying on the bed?

I m not feeling any pain in my body but I m feeling some burden on my heart..

She did not want her to be stressed to tried to avoid that topic but dadi was over burdened with her guilt

Geet abhi do din hi hue Maan aur Sam ki shadi ko.. and I m feeling like I have done some big mistake by forcing Maan in to this relation.. wo bechara baar baar kahta raha ki wo Sam se shadi nahin karna chhata par maine uski ek nahin suni..

And a tear slipped from Geet's eyes hearing her...she quickly wiped that and was relieved that daid was lost in her own thoughts and did not see that tear..and then dadi remembered something

Geet can I ask you something? Will you tell me the truth?

And Geet looked at her-What do you want to ask Mam?..If I know that I will tell you

Have you seen Maan close to any girl at Hospital.?.

Jiii..Geet's eyes were wide hearing her?

Haan I remember that Maan wanted to tell me about a girl but that time I did not listen to him in my anger..

Geet's eyes were blurred with water hearing her..

No Ma'am..I never saw him talking anything other than work with any doctor there..She tried to be normal while replying her..

Now I can't even ask to Maan.. I rejected her even without meeting her..

Mam please..

Geet pata nahin kyun..I feel good while talking to you.. aisa lagta hi nahin ki tum gair ho.bahut apni si lagti ho...ab tumse kya chhupa hai.. you all were there when I forced Maan to marry Sam..jis ladki ko Maan ke liye chuna maine dekho kaise araam se so rahi hai apne room me..bina kisi chinta ke.aur tum jiska koi rishta nahin humse yahaan mere saath jaag ke meri baaten sun rahi ho..

I request you mam... please try to sleep ..If Doctor Khurana finds you stressed in the morning he will scold me for not taking care of you..please so jaaiye..

She did not want to hear anything more now..It was becoming hard for her to listen to dadi. What a destiny she had .. Dadi was regretting for her deeds after destroying her every dream..

Geet's voice was little shaky and dadi noticed it but she did not know the reason of her sadness...-See Geet you too are feeling bad for your Doctor.. You might be thinking me as some Hitler who only wanted to fulfil her demand.. And I think that I behaved only like a Hitler..I was blind for my son's promise who was dead but forgot that Maan was alive and needed his life to live happily... I judged Sam wrong. I thought her to be a responsible girl but she is not at all.. She thinks only about herself..What a blunder I have made. Indon't know if I can evenget maa's forgiveness for this

Dadi was looking sad and she was having tears in her eyes

Geet shifted her chair near her . She dadi's eyes first and then cleaned her own eye.

Ma'am Dr. Khurana loves you very much That's why he did what you wanted.. Now for him you too should not think too much.. There is no use to cry over split milk..Just try to sleep

She started to rub her forehead..Ma'am Sleep is must for you.. I m massaging your head ..you will feel good and be able to sleep..and she started to give massage on her head and soon dadi slept ..

Geet saw her sleeping and took a deep breath.. She leaned back on the chair and dadi's words strated to eco in her mind. She smiled but that was not her usual smile..it was like she was mocking her destiny... She did not know when she slept on chair while thinking about her life

Maan was tossing and turning in his bed..Geet's image of coming out of washroom was coming again and again in front of his eyes.. He was restless..It was the first time after that dreadful day when he got time to think over his life in silence He did not know where his life was taking him.. He hadn't accepted Sam nor he had any future plan to accept her as his life partner..She was his wife just because dadi forced him and trapped him..He was not going to surrender for her any demand related to Sam after that trap... She was daughter in law of Khurana House and his wife in front of the society but he was determined not to give her any space in his personal life..

He was not able to forget even Geet.. She was again and again capturing his mind..He knew that it was wrong to think about Geet now.. Bur he was helpless.. and to make the situation worse She was there ..In his house to spend few days with Dadi... At hospital it was easy to be busy in work but what he will do at home seeing her in front of him.. He set in his bed..

No Maan.. this is wrong... very wrong.. you have lost all the right to think about Geet like this.. Though you know that you were forced to marry Sam but the hard truth is that you are married and have no right to feel anything for Geet..It will be injustice to her.. You have already broken her ..That's her strong will power that she is normal and not crying over her broken heart.. Stop yourself where you are.. Jo hona tha ho gaya.. Destiny plays according to it's plans ..and your destiny has played her game with you..Now your main motif is your dadi..You have to stay strong for her..

As he remembered dadi, he thought to see her once..

He entered the room and found dadi sleeping peacefully. But then his eyes fell on Geet and he was surprised to see her sleeping on chair near dadi..

He went near her..Her face was glowing in the dim light of the room.. Her open hair were playing with her face under the air of the fan... and may be her frown was telling him that she was getting disturbed by those moving strands..

He reached near her and bent down a little to remove those strands.. but he could not remove them.. He stayed like that for few more moments and he called her nameGeet...

But she was sleeping..

He tapped at her shoulder.. and called her name again

Geet was startled with that tap and got up from her chair-Kaun hai?

Geet It's me Maan..

Geet looked at him with sleepy eyes and then got relaxed..

And they heard dadi-Kya hua Maan?

Nothing dadi..I came to see you and found her sleeping on chair so was trying to wake her up..she was feeling uncomfortable in her sleep on chair..

Oh.. Geet why did you sleep here? ..you should have slept on your bed?..dadi asked her

Sorry Ma'am..wo aapse baat karte karte neend aa gayi..I m sorry..

Go and sleep on your bed..

Maan said to her and she nodded.. He looked her walking towards her bed and then asked dadi- dadi do you need anything?

No Maan..I m fine..

Ok.. and he left closing the door of the room his eyes were on Geet who was now on her bed but he was unaware that dadi had woke up only when he entered the room..she was old enough to have such a light sleep. Before she could ask Maan anything, she saw him moving towards Geet and witnessed every gesture of Maan for Geet ..The way he moved towards Geet and tried to remove her hair from her face and the way he was looking at her ...dadi noticed everything.

.She then remembered the restlessness of Geet when she was asking about the girl whom Maan liked

And a doubt hit her mind..Is Geet that girl whom he was talking about?

Morning

Sam's phone shrieked loudly and disturbed her sleep..She opened her eyes and looked in to the screen it was their cook who was calling

Damn... why she is calling me? Idiot... disturbed my sleep..She received the call

Bahuji.. main aaj nahin aa paungi..mera beta hospital me hai

What???

Jii bahu ji.. ab dadi maa ki tabiyat theek nahin hai to socha aap ko hi bata doon..abhi mujhe hospital jaana hai.. rakhti hoon phone

But..Before she could say the cook cut the call..

What the hell? Sam was frustrated.. she too is on leave..Now what? I m very sure that Maan is going to make me the cook for today...and there is that nurse too ..Maan is giving her too much importance like she is some VIP in this house..My foot... I m not going to do anything..Jab kisi ko maeri parwah anhin to to main bhi kyun karun.. I have to do something...Sleep had gone far away from her eyes ..

Maan entered the room with two cups and one glass in a tray.. Geet and dadi looked at him

Good morning Doctor.. Geet wished him

Sam kahaan hai Maan?

Don't know dadi.. She is still sleeping

Still sleeping? Dadi was surprised She went to sleep before everyone slept .. her sleep is not over yet.

Maan did not say any word just looked at dadi as if he mocking her.. and dadi for the first time understood his smirk..In hospital she was not able to get anything when he was talking about Sam

Geet ye lo .. and he passed coffee to her..

Ji? Ye...You made that?

Geet Maan always makes coffee and Tea for both of us before cook comes..

Dadi aapke liye milk..

I need tea..

No dadi not today.. tea is not good for you..kal se lena aap chai..okk...

and she held her glass..She was looking much better

Maan and dadi were talking while Geet was lost in her thoughts.. after waking up her mind again went back towards her conversation with dadi..so she was not listening to what Maan and dadi were talking.. Maa's eyes feel on her and he found her lost

Geet.. he called her but she did not respond

Dadi looked at Geet first then at Maan..

Geeett..this time his voice was louder so Geet was startled and coffee was almost to spill out of the cup but she handed it ..

Ji. Sir?

Kya hua? Is everything fine? Maan asked..

And Geet nodded..

Coffee kaisi bani hai? I mean you are tasting my coffee for the first time..

Acchi hai sir..It's good..she smiled but her smile was not natural...

Kuchh hua hai kya? He looked concerned..

N..no.Sir nothing.. I m fine..

Dadi was silently observing both of them..She was able to connect the things somehow..

Sam entered the room-Good morning everyone..

She looked the empty cups and understood that she was late again..

Good morning Sam ..Dadi replied to her..

even Geet too responded to her..Good morning Ma'am..But Maan was sitting unmoved

Dadi.a actually I wanted to ask you something..

Haan bolo Sam.. Dadi my best friend is shifting to USA .. aaj hi uski flight hai.. Yahaan Mumbai se.. Can I go? I mean Sister is here to take care of you.. and I don't think you need me.. she want to meet me .. I could not invite her in my wedding too..so she wants to see me once before going..(Liar)

It's ok Sam.. you may go..waise bhi yesterday you were not with me I was all alone.. But today I m not alone so you need not to worry about me..and second thing You are here after getting ready so what is the use of seeking permission? You have planned it already so go..

And Sam looked at Maan but he only smirked seeing her..and without giving her any look he went out of the room. She did not matter for him at all..

Sam turned and took a deep breath.. Thank God No one doubted me..Now I can spend the day peacefully..

She went and on the way she called the cook ... Suno main bahar hoon aaj bahut subah se...tum ek kaam karo Maan ko phone karke bata do mera phone me signal nahin hain to main Baat nahin kar pa rahi hoon..tum ghar phone karke bata do ki nahin aaogi..

And cook called Maan..

He listened her problem..

Ok NP.. ..

He asked the name of the hospital..

Suno wahaan jaake Dr. ko mera naam bataana.. wo acchhe se dekhbhaal karenge tumhaare bte ki..aur agar paise chhaiye to bata dena..He said to her..

Cook was so happy to hear and thanked him ..

But now the new problem was in front of Maan.. and That was BF.. Cook was absent and Geet did not know to cook..She had told him in hospital that she did not know how to cook..He could manage in Hospital himself but Geet and dadi were at home..

Dadi had finished up with her morning chores and after taking bath she wished to sit in the chair not in the bed and Geet helped her to sit in chair..

What is the time Geet?

It's 8..

Cook hadn't turned yet... late ho gayi aaj..Maan will be late for the hospital..

dadi was talking to Geet and next moment they both saw Maan with Apron in his neck

Maan... What are you doing?

Dadi your cook is on leave today.. so I have made BF for all of us?

Geet was looking at him with Open mouth..

Why did not you tell me Sir?

Kyun..tum kya karti..tumhen kahaan kuchh banana aata hai.. He said in a teasing tone

Maan's eyes were following Geet and dadi's eyes following his eyes..She wanted to confirm her doubt about them..

Geet served the Bf ..It was a simple Bf.. Omelette with toast and juice.. All three had their BF..Silently..

After the BF Geet thanked him for making the BF... Maan nodded and went to the hospital...

Geet took dadi in to the room..Gave her medicines to her ..Checked her BP and noted down in the chart.. After that they chatted for a while and dadi slept while talking to her..

Geet was now alone so she took a book out of her bag .. but she was getting bore as she knew that dadi was going to sleep for long..no one was in the house right now.. The maid who came for cleaning did her work and left..
