Very few of us know that the actor, who's the father of two daughters (Mahika and Maira), is also involved in supporting the cause of the girl child. In fact, Arjun is involved in supporting an NGO and has already "adopted" 15 girls from that NGO.
This means Arjun has taken over financial responsibility of these girls and will provide for their educational and other needs till they become financially independent or get married.
"There are so many issues concerning the girl child that are dogging us today. I feel that we need to create awareness against discrimination towards the girl child.
On the other hand, paedophilia is so rampant that's it's next to impossible to trust a stranger with your kid. That's the reason I decided to get involved with this project," says Arjun.
Having taken on the responsibility, Arjun says that's his ways to do his bit for the society.
"They (NGO officials) send me regular reports of the children's progress like how they are performing in their studies. It's amazing to know that some are doing amazingly well in certain extra-curriculars like computers etc," adds the actor who's performance has been praised by the audience and critics alike in 'Om Shanti Om'.
The actor may is neck deep in work post 'OSO' and also currently working on movies under the banner of his production house 'Chasing Ganesha Films'.
But these doesn't prevent him from spending some quality time with his daughters. "Whatever turn life takes, I believe it happens for the best."
