Author Arundhati Roy condemned the movie, she wrote film review entitled, "The Great Indian Rape Trick"

She questioned the right to "restage the rape of a living woman without her permission", and said Shekhar Kapur was exploiting Phoolan Devi and misrepresenting both her life and its meaning.

Yes. As some other members have said very brutal and disturbing movie but Seema Biswas's portrayal of Phoolan Devi was off the charts.

Yes watched it . It was a sad and disturbing movie but that's how it was in real too. That was the first time i got to openly learn the brutalities and abuses some people face in real world 😭

its indeed a disturbing but its based on real shocking accounts that makes it a great movie. no actress can match seema biswas she breathe life soul everything into this film. this film was previous offered to mita vashisht. she is also one great actress. this is definitely not for the weak.
