Movie .shown what Phoolan faced in her young age..and how she became Dacoit.

It exposed caste system sexual and exploitative abuses...

It is very disturbing movie

This movie-won National Film award for Best film in Hindi

Watched it a long time ago, Shekhar Kapoor directed... the film won a lot of awards including NA Best Film in Hindi

The movie is not for the faint hearted, its full of violence, abuse, very disturbing, brutal portrayal of Phoolan's life

Its based on the true story of notorious female dacoit Phoolan Devi, so whatever they have shown actually happened

Sometimes reality is even more horrifying than fiction...even now Dalit women are tortured, abused and exploited by higher castes and landowners everyday in rural India, that is the harsh reality.
