Yes 1 appearance at Cannes has to be a saree/Indian ethnic. Since she said she will take Padmvati to Cannes hoping for some Indian look.

Deepika looks beautiful as a bengali girl
Because she has large expressive eyes

There is this thing about her that she fits into beinh a bengali girl quite easily

Way earlier, during her modelling days, she did an ad for PC Chandra dressed as a Bengali Bride. I thought she was marvelous with her the expressions ( even better than aish as a bride in chokher baali)

And then in the movie khelein hum jee jan se
She dressed in two cotton saree drapes village way and with two braids
So beautiful and so very bengali

I love her when she dresses as Bengali
