It was 12 in the night when a heavy package was delivered to the doorstep of a very unsuspecting Desto. It read

And immediately Desto was transported to the time when Veronica Roth was writing the climax of Allegiant.

Desto spies from behind the bed as Roth goes ahead with writing that accursed chapter. She throws a book down from the lamp stand to divert Veronica's attention and plunges to grab the typed out pages.
Pulling out a lighter, she sets fire to the pages on the bedroom floor, and then goes on to throw the ash into the dustbin [You can never be too careful], all this as Veronica watches dumbstruck or maybe firestruck.
Desto sits on her desk. Opens up the laptop again and begins typing the last chapter.
"Four and Tris escaped from the crazy selfish world to an isolated island where the four constructed a white picket fence house for themselves and farmed on the adjacent land as Tris hunted in the nearby forest for all the other essentials. And they lived happily ever after"

Before Veronica could respond Desto opened her book and turned to the next page -

says Desto and before she opens her eyes she finds herself sitting before Gayle Forman, sipping tea.
"Why do you take pleasure in torturing us? Is it some kind of an acquired sadistic pleasure?" Desto asks
"What do you mean?" Forman asks baffled by this magically appearing girl who seemed to be majorly pissed off at her.
"I mean to say I am tired of racking my brains every time I read your books to think what next? How did they end up? Please for god's sake just tie up the bloody loose ends. Take 100 pages. 10 days. Just give them that stupid happily ever after", Desto says without taking a breath.
"You seem to have kept this bottled up since long", Forman says still in shock "I will keep that in mind the next time".
Ari, you are so meh.
With a satisfied smile, Desto flips over a page in her book to her next destination. But there is no question there. Instead she is left standing on the stage in a sparkling spotlight in the most beautiful pink dress holding a trophy in her hand.
"And for the services rendered to the literary world by miss Desto Starkheart we give her the
Book Saviour Award and..."
"No no wait." Desto says holding up her hands "I don't deserve it yet".
She quickly shuffles the pages of her book to reach to the page she wanted --
"The Moon is up,
There's a flip in the tide
Now to the future thy must go,
And any choiceful sequel you may write"

Desto thinks and waits to get to Jojo Moyes but... the book bursts into flames instead leaving behind a single piece of paper.
"Sorry, even for your birthday this book cannot revert that disaster. Hope you enjoyed the ride. Wish you a very Happy and classy Birthday!"
Really? Oh how I'd like to erase After you from Moyes' brain.
