When the news of Saina Nehwal biopic hit
the web, everyone had their bets placed on
Deepika Padukone for even Saina had once
confessed saying, "Her(Deepika's) father has
been a badminton player and I have seen
her playing badminton. She used to play
really good. She can do justice to the role
and I really wish she can do the role."In fact,
Deepika too was equally kicked about
stepping into Saina's shoes as she had said,
"I would love to play Saina onscreen. We
have played together in fact and obviously
she was way better .. She also said to me
good' also. We had fun time... Of course
anything for the love of sports specially if it
is badminton." However, guess the makers
couldn't crack a deal with DP for latest
reports confirm Shraddha Kapoor has been
finalised to play Saina Nehwal in the biopic.

In interaction with Bombay Times, Shraddha
confirmed the news saying, " Most girls
would have played badminton at some point
in their lives in school. I feel so lucky to be
playing Saina, who is not just among the
world's top badminton players, but also a
youth icon. I can't wait to start prepping for
my role ". It's indeed good that Shraddha is
finally showing some diversity in the choice
of films considering she plays a basketball
player in Half Girlfriend, a don in Haseena
and now a badminton player with Saina
Nehwal biopic. But given that Saina was
keen on having Deepika essay her life
onscreen, what are her thoughts on
Shraddha stepping in? Is she happy with the
choice?
"Whoa! That's news to me... I was aware of
the film, yes. But I didn't know about this
casting. It's great if Shraddha is playing me,
because she is a very talented actress and
very hardworking! I am sure she will do
justice to the role. The best part is, she is a
good friend as well. So it will be easier to
teach her some badminton (laughs). A lot of
people tell me that we look similar and I
think that's a huge compliment, cos
Shraddha is very beautiful, "said an elated
Saina, who is currently in China for the
Badminton Asia Championships.

transformation for Haseena biopic, that's
currently become the talk of the town. But
