JW original IV was out in public domain in Dec 22, 2016! The latest article is not original& looks like merely quoting some old IV! How much relevance an article has- in current track -is something debatable! She might know overall gist of her character but every sub-plot/details might not be known to her, at that time!
But,JW did say that her character is close to a sociopath! A sociopath is different from psychopath! Sociopaths do make others life miserable but very rarely turn deadly unlike psychos!
Maya is a decoy & deliberately often projected in the show to keep the viewers attention focused on her for all crimes!
She might cause harm to others as she is a declared grey character but might get redeemed at the end!
But at the same it may not have a Cinderella kind of ending for her as she clarified very recently in her IG post!
After all, Cinderella is not grey unlike Maya! Maya will be accounted for her sins, that is for sure!
But the real killer is still in disguise!

Exactly, I don't understand Jenny's logic & it looks like she is blindly defending Maya. Doesn't she feel trapping a man in fake rape case is negative. I know actors always try to defend character they play but this is a bit too much and don't go well with Jenny reputation.

And if she know her costar kushal is the one who always say Maya is negative in his interviews. So does both actors of same show had heard different stories or what?

Given her vast experience & many years of career, JW is too seasoned in handling the public opinion, I believe! She does know when to be diplomatic & when to be CANDID!
Her intention may not be to mislead anyone, but certainly she is entitled to defend her character! We may or may not agree with her!
