There. The juggernaut of issues has landed.
The dreaded Naam, Khoon and Khandaan of Annika.
Shivaay was cornered by his mother, simply by asking her surname. His reaction is so extreme, that no one can understand. But his mother does. She knew which switches exactly to flip to set off her son.
He tosses his phone , when he can't get Annika on the phone, and his mother is biatchy about it. One thing though, he knows his mother is making an issue out of this, she is taking a stand against him and Annika, and he resents it. He knows his mother is up to something nasty.
But he didn't have the answers. That was his weakness. He quickly went to get them from Sahil. Then more problems were seen.
"Sahil, You know everything about me, my family. But I don't know anything of yours. Can you tell me about your parents?"
"Mine or Annika didi's??"
"Isn't that the same thing ?'
He doesn't know !! He thinks Sahil and Annika are real siblings.
So Sahil tells him, his father is Kulbushan Chaturvedi, mother Vandana Chaturvedi. And Shivaay is placated.
Each question, he waited with bated breath, for the reply from Sahil. Hoping beyond hope, that there is nothing to be getting worked up about.
"What did he do for a living?"
"He sold things.."
"Oh , he's a businessman..."
You can see the almost relief. Phew, Ok, she comes from a business family, I can work with that.
"What kind of business did he do?"
"Soaps"
A brief pause.. "Okay he manufactured soaps, and distributed them?"
"No , he made them on his own and sold them from house to house..."
You can see Shivaay's shoulders sagging in disappointment. He gets up and leaves almost immediately.
He hasn't even heard all of it and he's already not very happy. He hasn't even heard it all.
Annika learns of the sudden questions.
But Shivaay is already in conflict with himself.
Sahil's words intersperse with Annika's selfless acts for him.
What's wrong with me? What am I thinking?
What does it matter; what Annika's parents did for a living?
Annika is Annika!
But how can you forget your ideals? Naam Khoon and Khandaan are important to you!
Putting your ideals aside, you are losing yourself !
If I don't change my ideals, I will lose Annika !!
(The look in his eyes at the mere thought, the fear ! )
What do I do? I Need to CHOOSE !

Precap: Annika gets cornered at pooja, to tell her parents name.
It looks like Shivaay has come to terms with his conflict, and chose Annika. But Pinky is about to deploy her next bomb.
Elsewhere, earlier, Annika chased down Mahi and cornered him.
Annika said clearly, she wasn't after punishment, but wants to know who he was and who sent him. She even tells him she knows he isn't that bad a man. He , however, escapes from Question Kumari.
But she has his name now.
Funny how, Mahi thinks she can find out his horoscope with his name, but in Oberoi Mansion, they have Annika's name, and it isn't enough.
Mahi laments on his bad luck, looks like he has given up on life. Very sad scene, beautifully done by NM.
But what was he being so upset over?
That he was left alone by his so called family? And here Shivaay's wife was chasing him down just to find out why he did what he did. He was upset that Shivaay got all of his family's love, and he had none.
