Part 24
Maha- Update

Khushi was dressed in Red saree for the day and Arnav was busy in admiring her, today he is not going to office as he wants to be with Khushi. He still remember how she fainted on teej and he don't want to take risks, he tried his best to make Khushi understand that she don't need to keep this fast but she denied with puppy face telling she wants to keep it as it's her first karwachauth so he agreed but he'll stay beside her.

Khushi: Oh ho Arnav ji Stop following me and have your breakfast.
Arnav: Khushi please you should also eat a little, at least have some juice.
Khushi : Arnav ji I am fine. I can't even have water forget about juice ot something to eat.
Arnav: I am still telling you to drop this idea of keeping fast.
Khushi: I wouldn't!

Arnav: Ok then don't roam around, just stay inside the room and rest.
Khushi: Are then how'll I prepare everything for evening?
Arnav: There are many peoples to do that. You just go and take rest, I'll wake you up in evening whe you have to get ready for pooja and I don't want to listen anything else now. Khushi nodded with a pout and asked him to have his breakfast first.

Payal: Khushi! You are ok na?
Khushi: Yes jiji, why?
Payal: I feel like Shyam's advances have been increased these days. He is indirectly doing everything in front of family openly.
Khushi: I know jiji but just sometime more for Di's delivery then I'll tell everything to Arnav ji.
Payal (nodded): But I feel really happy to see Arnav ji taking care of you so much, he really loves you.
Khushi: Yes jiji and therefore I am planning a surprise for him today. He have given me everything without even asking jiji but now it's my turn. Will you do me a favor jiji?
Payal looked at her confused but nodded as Khushi told her what she has to do.

After having breakfast Arnav first left Anjali to her room telling Shyam to take care of her. He didn't let her keep fast without having water, after many argument Anjali agreed to have water and juices if she feels week. Then Arnav took Khushi to their room and asked her to sleep which she did without arguments knowing very well it wouldn't work.

In evening

Khushi got up and looking at time she gasped she have to get ready for the pooja with other ladies when Arnav entered inside talking on phone.
Arnav: You're up?
Khushi: Yes! And why didn't you wake me up? You said you'll do it.
Arnav: You were sleeping so peacefully, I didn't feel like disturbing you.
Khushi: Oh Arnav ji, now I have to hurry up otherwise they'll start pooja without me.
Arnav: Don't worry, I'll tell them to wait.

Khushi: Arnav ji?
Arnav : yea?
Khushi: Can you do something for me?
Arnav: Yes! What happened? Why are you asking like this? What do you want?
Khushi: Relax! Don't take tension. I just need you to stay away from our room till I don't tell you to come.
Arnav: What the!! Why?
Khushi: Please! I'll tell you everything later.
Arnav: Ok!
Khushi: Thanks! Now you also get ready otherwise take your clothes and get ready in guest room.

Arnav: really Khushi? You are throwing me out from my room?
Khushi: Correction! Our room. And I am not throwing you out, I am just requesting.
Arnav: Ok ok. I'll get ready in guest room but my clothes.
Khushi: I have already selected for you, I'll keep them in guest room. Arnav nodded and left the room frowning "Don't know now what this Sanka Devi is planning."

Arnav looked surprised as he saw Khushi coming for pooja in her wedding dress. She is looking so beautiful just like on their wedding day and he looked at her lost.

Arnav: khushi you have so many clothes, why are you wearing your wedding attire?
Khushi: Arnav ji if girl wears her wedding dress for karwachauth pooja, it is considered as good omen especially when it's her first Karwachauth.
Arnav (frowning): Weird traditions.
Khushi: Don't call them weird when you know nothing about it. Now I am going with them to do pooja and you wouldn't go inside our room neither you would let any other, I have locked it but you have another key therefore reminding you.
Arnav: As you say wifey!

Khushi: What? How can he leave like this?
Akash: Aman suddenly called and it was really urgent. Bhai said he'll return back soon!

Khushi nodded sadly and left to join other ladies in function, as everyone started with dancing and singing till moon comes and they can break their fast.

A lady: Devyani ji! We have two new wives here. Shouldn't they also do something?
Nani nodded and pushed Khushi and Payal to enjoy with them. Payal shyly sung a song as Akash was constantly busy in admiring her making her blush. Then came Khushi's turn who looked at door once more to see if Arnav is coming but then looked down disappointed when everyone asked her to smile and do something.

Khushi looked at everyone then at her Mehandi clad hands, Anjali frowned thinking she is acting when they all heard he melodious voice as she started singing.

She thinks about how Arnav proposed her, supported her when she was close to lose all her hopes that night and readily agreed to marry her instead on getting angry. how he understand her without even her asking anything, he is waiting for her to get comfortable only then they'll take their relation forward. If he wanted he could have already made her his in every way, he has all rights but he never used them, he only used those rights to support her, to take care of her.

She stopped dancing as she saw him coming towards her and then stopped just in front of her. She smiled and then looked down shyly when he hugged her.

Arnav can't wait for everything to get finish , Khushi's fast is already broken by him but then she suddenly disappeared. He was going to their room when Payal stopped him.
Payal: Where are you going Arnav ji?
Arnav: To my room payal.
Payal: But Khushi told that you should go inside till she tells.
Arnav: Dammit! She also told you? But what is she doing?
Payal: No idea Arnav ji but she specially asked me to not let you enter inside the room till she says.

Arnav: Great! First dance like that and after making me restless she wouldn't even let me meet her.

Arnav was talking with Anjali as all the guests are left when Anjali told she wants to spend sometime with him. Therefore he is sitting with her in her room hearing her talking about their childhood with a smile when his phone started ringing.

Arnav: Khushi?
Khushi: Arnav ji please come inside our room asap. She was sounding really nervous.
Arnav: What happened? He asked already getting up and telling Anjali that he'll be back.

Khushi: Don't ask anything, just come! And she hanged up making him frown who almost ran to their room.

Khushi looked at herself in the mirror as she covered her head with the red dupatta, she smiled thinking about Arnav's reaction. She gulped her nervousness as she waited for him, she have to take this step, for him, for them. She clutched her heart as she felt him near, she hurriedly looked at herself once more and got up.

When Arnav reached in front of their room, he saw Payal standing outside nervously and looking here and there.
Arnav: Payal? What happened? Why are you standing here outside and Is Khushi alright? Do you know why she called me so hurriedly.
Payal (embarrassed): Arnav ji Khushi is fine. Ummm... actually I don't know myself what she is doing or planning? She just told me to stand here for a while and see except you no one should enters inside your room.
Arnav: What the!! Now she's up to what craziness?
Payal: I don't know! She just told me she wants to give you a surprise.

Arnav (raising his one eyebrow): Surprise?
Payal (nodded): Ok I am leaving. Khushi must be also waiting for you.
Arnav(to himself): Surprise? Let's see!

Arnav looked around the room surprised as he entered inside the room. Whole room was immersed in darkness except the scented candles which were illuminating the room with flower petals around. He gasped as his eyes stopped on her sitting on the middle of the bed in her wedding dress and veil covering half of her face just like their wedding night looking divine.

He started walking towards her completely lost in her and sat beside her looking at her silently. Khushi shuffled on her place nervously finding him still and not even saying a word, so gathering the courage she herself started speaking.

Khushi: Arnav ji?
Arnav: hmmm
Khushi: Why aren't you saying anything?
Arnav: hmmm..
Khushi(shaking him): What hmmm Arnav ji? Why aren't you saying anything?
Arnav (coming out of daze): huh?
Khushi: You're ok Arnav ji?
Arnav: yea, yea. I am fine! Wo... i... ummm...
Arnav: Khushi! What is all this?

Khushi looked away in shyness as Arnav looked at her curiously with an intense look. "I ... I wanted to surprise you." Arnav turned her to face him from her shoulders and slowly removed the veil from her head, his eyes admiring her as he removed a fringe from her forehead.

Arnav: You don't need to feel nervous Khushi but do you really want this? I mean we have already talked about this and you don't have to do this.
Khushi(holding his hands with a smile): I know! But I want to do this. Arnav ji! I know you have never forced me and I really respect you for that. But trust me I never kept this distance between us because I was not comfortable with you or I don't trust you. I just needed time to accept the sudden changes in our life.

Khushi: and trust me even the little fear I had in me, it has been faded. From the time of our marriage how you have dealt with every situation and supported me have just increased my respect and trust for you more and therefore I want to do this. I want to see you happy just like you try to keep me happy, I know you wouldn't say this but it was getting difficult for you to stay with me but still far away.

Arnav: But Khushi...
Khushi: shhh... I know and I am not doing this only for you but for both of us.
Arnav: Don't test my patience Khushi. You don't know know what you're inviting.
Khushi: In that case... She paused... I want to know.

Snaking his hand behind her back he pulled her closer, their lips almost touching each other "Are you sure? I wouldn't ask again." Khushi nodded feeling almost breathless and his lips landed upon hers next moment.

His fingers worked on her clothes restlessly, removing her jewellery and they removed every barrier between them hurriedly. As moon shined bright outside, two bodies met for old age rhythm to become one soul.
