TSMSPJ ep:16~20.4.17~My Impression~ The sweet goal of life..
We are born to live, and live to fulfil what is in store for us. One popular way to live life is to recognize and then set goals to go by. The targets can range from easily achievable to more challenging objectives Today's episode continues with yesterday's theme of the revelation of one's life targets, aims. Something that somebody wants to achieve.
One thing goes without saying that the Rathi women across three generations till date , all have a certain clout around them. Santosh Rathi the oldest female member occupies the position of an elderly matriarchal figure head of the Rathi family. Meenakshi Rathi the eldest DIL who runs her divided household and a garments business. Sandhya Rathi, decorated ,deceased, DIL who leaves behind quite a rich legacy of heroism not only for her family ,for Hanuman Lane but for the whole nation to look upon like an inspiration. Kanak Rathi , the youngest Rathi female ,fresh out of university, lived away from home ,but now returns to be part of the fold. Kanak is betrothed to be married away soon according to the dictates of her Bhabo who takes decisions on behalf of the family. Kanak Rathi at the tender age of twenty years is already fighting for the affections of her Bhabo who holds the girl responsible for the death of both her parents Suraj and Sandhya. All the existing Rathi women are waging a war surrounding their own personal circumstances. The episode today pans on the challenges of the eldest and youngest of the Rathi women. Will they act as a catalyst towards each other? Babho has got herself embroiled in a health and safety issue ,what with the recent near miss scalding accident she faced at the sweet shop. Her family members are anxious about her age and her inability to care for herself in a safe manner. Despite the fact that she is elderly and continues to make an honest living , her safety is still in question. The family wants her to call it a day. But Bhabo digs her heels in. For her it's not a matter of keeping herself occupied positively. It is more so being at the shop ,for it gives her soul tremendous joy. Within herself , she feels that keeping the shop running is to keep her beloved children Suraj and Sandhya alive too! Hands on the shop floor! gives her a meaning ,aim and objective to her nearly spent life.The family feels in putting her life at risk , by keeping Suraj and Sandhya alive, she seems to forget the rest of her family.
Stiff opposition from the family for working in the shop gears Bhabo to fight back too. Till she lives, the shop will continue to function ,lighting the wok to cook sweets in the shop, is what brings the sweetness in her life. The two men, brothers Ved and Vansh , later on at home can see Bhabo's obduracy ,they know she will not gve in that easily and she is likely to stand her ground, Vansh suggests the sweet shop be sold as a deterrent to pull Bhabo back into the present! Kanak overhears her brothers and recalls the phone of some man who plans to take over the shop..she decides to keep this news to herself.. already Kanak is beginning to see some the path she aims to embark upon. But she still feels the need to share her thoughts with someone. Her brothers were likely to stop her, Bhabo she cannot approach . Meenakshi too doesn't know and she too is likely to hinder what Kanak has in mind.. so it's her failing memory babsa she finds.. as once she gathers his thoughts, he would fail to retain the information!
Homeward bound, but for some reason Uma Shankar does look backwards while being driven out of Pushkar, Shiv teases him about looking out for his wife. A pensive smile plays on Uma's defined square jaw. He was a devout believer of lord Shiva and if the vibrant lord made his paths cross by the sandalwood fragrance girl, then there must be method in his lord's ways. He will just wait upon the lord, when he wills it!
As a husband, babsa too appeals to his wife to quit working at the shop. Bhabo yet again argues to maintains her objective , to run the shop , which in turn gives her the positive reason to live! She speaks passionately that the shop is not mere mortar and bricks, but rather the shop carries memories of Suraj and Sandhya for her! the shop forms the ethos of all that she lost and all that she can still keep alive! Kanak eyes sparkle with motivation when she hears Bhabo confess to babasa that being in the shop she finds her tranquil joy around Suraj and Sandhya , and that she denounces all who try to steal her joy.. all who oppose her being in the shop ,she shall never forgive! For they fail to empathize with what gives her joy.
Kanak silently in her room stands before her parents photograph and shares with them.. about a man she heard.. his words make sense today ,that everyone on earth is afforded a chance , an awareness of an objective that they set to achieve. Kanak tells her parents, today she realizes the moment is here for her! and so is before her the goal she sets out to target!To win! and give Bhabo's shop to her! back to her ! restore Bhabo's smile on her sad face.. she seeks her parents blessings and once again ,she recalls fondly , the man who helped her in seeing life in a new light! bringing happiness to others!
Its home sweet home for Uma , Shiv and Payal.. Suman stands by the door ready to welcome back. Polomi stands on the balcony and awaits one sight of Uma. He does come out eventually , but before him, darts Shiv to embrace his sister Suman. We get to see another of Uma's sister called Saraswati .Shiv pulls Payal by the hand wants to take her around the haveli. But Uma steps in gently as Payal first needed to cross the threshold as the DIL of the house. He asks for masa his mother..who for some unknown reason is not present to welcome, the new bride with required rituals.. Paulmi walks in gracefully with the arti thalli.. Uma smiles and then turns to his henchman thanking him for accompanying him ,and suggests he get some rest. Uma misses the aarti that paulomi conducts.. Payal inclines to touch her feet! Assumes her to be Uma's wife! Suman corrects her, dadusa is unmarried .. she teases Paulmi again as Saraswati clarfies ,that she is a friend of hers and almost a family member! Payal looks on..as Uma tells Suman to get his mother!
Kanak packs her bags ready to embark on a retrieval mission ! her brothers want to know where she was heading? She gives a tongue in cheek reply ,to seek the goal that she has set for herself!. Well the episode sums up Kanak's mantra, no fears,no tears, no hesitation can deter her from achieving her motive! Babsa does give her his blessings by his thoughts ,she can tell the they will not give up their shop! Kanak heads to gather Bhabo's blessings.. Uma's mother fails to turn up.. so Uma welcomes Payal into the house..honours his commitment to safeguard her..
