Every star has signature style of acting. Barring few actors who are chameleon, you know what to expect from them and how they will react when in character. More often we come across actors who could be acting doppelganger due to the way they act or perhaps the characters they play. Mind you they are not same. There will always be some inequality in their acting capacity, their looks. But they will give you a sense of deja vu when you see them on screen. Or make you feel like if only he/she did the role in this way- to realize you are thinking about another actor/actress with similar style.
When I watched Queen and Neerja, I had this feeling that they could swapped role easily. On surface, Kangana and Sonam have nothing in common. They are different level of actress. They look different and their approach to way they play character is different. But they have few similarities. When called for, they both bring vulnerability to their role, they are intensely feminine, fit the middle class milieu and they both work on their character's appearance molding themselves to fit the role.
I had the same feeling when I watched Hema Malini's Saudamini and Deepika's Cocktail. Both dealt with similar theme of woman discarded by her lover for more traditional partner and pain the character goes through. Again both actors have their differences. But what is common is their build that fills the screen, the lack of inhibition on their part and the way camera loved them making them look radiant.
There are many such incidence. Did you ever feel like you are watching another star in place of one on screen.
